Baz Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Anyone seen this: Citizen He's obviously been stupid, but there is a bit more to the article... It was after the Norwich game, when the players held a meeting about the poor form. If things are as rosy as Kean says, why are the players having meetings without him. Doesnt indicate they are united behind Kean to me.

67splitscreen Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Agreed, more interest in the meeting, wasn't aware Givet was one of the clan. Roll model, professionalism , sack him!
budha Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Givet, who earns £15,000 a week This can't be possibly correct, right? Or does the income become public knowledge in such court cases in UK?
Emge Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Unfortunately things like this happen from time to time, its very stupid, but hey at least Givet isnt lying about it!
Exiled_Rover Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 This can't be possibly correct, right? Or does the income become public knowledge in such court cases in UK? Perhaps that's what he takes home after tax.
sentient Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 It was probably court-speak. I don't normally go out for a meal with my same-level colleagues to talk about poor performance at work unless the boss organises it! wow great workplace!
Paul Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 I was just wondering about this. Steve Kean gets convicted of DD and we have a zillion page thread, a poll calling for his dismissal and a general character assassination. I do realise he appears to have lied in court (I say seems because I haven't read it myself) and Givet just took it on the chin. Givet gets 7 replies and a "these things happen" shrug of the shoulders. Double standards on behalf of many people in my view.
Kamy100 Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 I condemned Kean and the same goes for Givet, drink driving is a incredibly selfish act which has destroyed the lives of so many people.
Mattyblue Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Drink dirvinig is not 'one of those things', be it Kean or Givet, however it was Kean's brazen lying under oath and general shirking of repsonsibility that got my goat.
CrazyIvan Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Drink driving is wrong. What Steve Kean did is worse.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted November 28, 2011 Moderation Lead Posted November 28, 2011 Drink driving is very wrong. But there's no double standards, Steve Kean has done a lot of other things to get fans backs up and create this horrible situation than Givet has. The drink driving for Kean just added fuel to the fire as far as I'm concerned.

I know what you're saying but I think the issue that most have with Kean is that he lied in court claiming that a supporter spiked his drink. Givet hasn't done that, that for me is the difference

Drink & driving is of course highly unacceptable and should be struck hard upon, its very dissapointing by Givet, however Givet hasnt lied about it, like Kean did, hence the different reactions.
G Somerset Rover Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Undergoing minor heart surgery according to the mirror. He'll be out for the whole festive period at least. I would post a link but I'm on my mobile.
Backroom Tom Posted December 18, 2011 Backroom Posted December 18, 2011 All the best Gael, proper pro but football can be forgotten at times like that. Didn't his Mrs recently have a kid as well?
PAFELL Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Just a thought. Many are divided in.heart for bolton match. Win, Kean could stay. Lose Kean could be sacked. I believe Kean is sacked already. I always want Rovers to win. But it would be good it they beat bolton for Givet. Win it for Givet. Chant Givet throughout the match. Forget Kean, ignore him during the match. But outside the stadium, no matter result.Kean out chants outside the.JW.
savage90 Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Givet out again Are we being fed further lies by Kean? Starting to sound too similar to the Nelsen saga, I'll be surprised if he plays again this season.
47er Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Hanley and Dann------don't put in any robust tackles between now and May cos we only have the two of you! Anyone still think it was a good idea to get rid of Deadwood Nelsen?
John Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Most of the biggest earners left will go in the summer regardless if we stay up. The priority is not the football club but the Venkys brand and also no requirement for the Rao family to put any money in.
Amo Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 It could well be that Givet is carrying a knock, but after the constant stream of lies and duplicity from Kean and the owners, the fans have every right to raise eyebrows when a player is suddenly unavailable - especially a senior high-earner. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Givet was another one headed for the exit door.
Mattyblue Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Wasn't Samba injured, fit, ill, avaliable and on strike over about 10 days? Wasn't Nelsen 'weeks away from a return'? According to Hunt, 'there is no contract issue. Salgado is avaliable'. So who are we to doubt Givet's 'injury'?

chaddyrovers Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 High earner? 15000 quid a week! By my standards "yes"! Givet is on about 40k a week for sure
