He broke it in training while on international duty.

It wouldn't surprise me that the reason he isn't playing is due to him not backing Kean. This would probably also be the reason behind so many of our players saying that he should be given more time and that he's a good manager.

Agreed regarding his performance today. Thought he was exceptional. Going forward he offered plenty of creativity and showed a willingness to take people on. More importantly for me though was that when we didn't have the ball he constantly put himself in the right spot and gave Lowe plenty of cover. His marking and decision making was spot on all game. These are things that rochina just does not offer. Yakubu aside I thought he was easily our man of the match today. Hope he starts next game!

Agree with everyone here thought he did well.

That ball from the corner into the box when the Yak got his 2nd goal headed one the way he was shaping to shoot does anyone think it reminded us of the time when Tugay scored from the corner against fulham when the Fulham man on the line just ducked to me his technique reminded me of the time.

I also thought the way he very cleverly cut into the box and drew the swansea foul that was a master class move just goes to show if you are intelligent enough around the box you can draw the fouls out of players.

Although the one thing I do like about Vucevic the guy is a proper winger and deserves more chances and being a proper winger I mean he understands when to attack and when to defend and thought his defensive work to help out Lowe was magnificent definitely more defensively minded than Junior/Rochina/Cato and must be praised for that definitely offers more balance to the side.

I did think though that mask is affecting him when he was fouled it did seem to affect him I also thought at times his fitness at times seemed poor but I think many of our players have been woefully unfit for a while now so nothing new there apart from those 2 minor issues I thought he did exceptionally well. I hope he manages to come through fitness wise and is fit for next week as I feel next week he deserves a starting place and could well be the jewel in the squad.

My bet is Dunny gets ahead of Simon in the playing pecking order simply because he has spoken out defensively about Kean. My heart tells me this is how the slug operates. However I do recall some disgruntlement in one of Simon's previous games that he was not up to snuff, comments about a refrigerator moving faster also seem to be off the mark.

I think it's been a long time coming for Simon, yesterday he finally announced his arrival in some style & for me he deserved a goal. I don't know if any of you noticed but for the last 15 minutes Formica moved over to the right wing & Simon moved inside, all of a sudden he looked even better.

He has always been seen as a winger & after yesterday you can see why, but he was the best player at Sporting Lisbon for playing more centrally, and I think you can see his passing and speed of thought really does suit a player that plays in a more central position.

Delighted for him & it just goes to show how much of a nugget we have in charge if he's going to play either of Dunn or Pedersen in front of him.

Incidentally I think that yesterday was also the best game we've seen from Formica in a rovers shirt, he saw a lot of the ball & his work rate was top notch.

One day we might get a manager who knows how to use these lads properly & back back them up with an organised defence, only then might we stand a chance of staying in the league.

My hope is that if Kean fears for his job that simon would continue to play over Dunny, Kean has shown that the only person that matters is Kean and if that means ditching one of his supporters to save himself he will.

I think we should start dropping Hoillet and getting used to life without him. As he will be off in January anyway. And for me although he has scored a few important goals I find him extremely frustrating. Half the time he's too greedy and it all comes to nothing anyway.

Robbo

Lowe samba Givet Dann

Simon Formica Nzonzi Ollson

Yak. Rochina

Vukcevic did more in his time on the pitch than Hoilett on Saturday.. Now that Junior has hit the headlines and everyone seems to acknowledge he has a bit of pace about him and can take players on everyone just knows what he's going to do. Although it's great to see Rovers players running at defenders Hoilett is so right footed it's ridiculous he will never switch to his left unless he is so near the goal he's about to lose it anyway he needs to switch his play up a bit because now he's been sussed he looks a little bit clueless.

It's inevitable he will leave so let's let him go for any cash we can get.. grab ourselves a good CM of the JJ or Witsel mould and shove Simon where Hoilett has been. We'd be much better off in my opinion.

Robbo

Lowe Samba Nelsen/Givet Dann/Olsson

Simon JJ/Witsel N'Zonz Olsson/Rochina

Rochina/Formica

Yak/Super Striker we know we'll never end up getting

Two points about the team above..

1. Although I think Olsson's best position is in the midfield, it is exciting seeing him and a decent winger partner each other and we can give full backs a real problem if we manage this correctly (which of course Kean won't). Also Dann could be as clueless as Givet at LB so for the time being I'd have Olsson there with Vukcevic, Formica or Rochina in front.

2. Wasn't Rochina a STRIKER at Barcelona B!? Fine he's been doing alright on the wing but where's the harm in playing him behind the striker?? He's proved he can smash them in and he's got a yard of pace on Formica. Admittedly Formica played well on Saturday but he has been absent in a number of games this season. At the moment with Vukcevic warming the bench for no apparent reason and Hoilett still at the club I'd love to see Kean give Rochina a game just behind Yak.

Can a mod please correct the spelling of his name in the title? It's been repeated in this thread and it might stick, it's quite disrespectful to misspell names of our own players.

Plenty of fans who can't even spell Nelsen, Olsson or Friedel. Not holding my breath that they'll ever get this one right regardless of what's done. I think most can manage to spell 'Simon' though.

Agreed that the name should be correct in the topic, so well done mod(s).
