As the hope of Carling Cup semi-final that might lift a club that has slumped to the foot of the Premier

League table slowly faded, he heard the name of Alan Shearer sung along with the usual chants about getting sacked in the morning.

Kevin Ratcliffe on Radio 5 live: "The thing for me is that Cardiff looked a lot fitter. They got around quicker, showed good energy levels and kept it going throughout. It was really poor from Blackburn. One or two players were not interested and perhaps were not giving the manager what he needed when he's under pressure. The problems were there straight from kick-off and Cardiff exploited it. 2-0 and it could have been more."

It has been the same all season with the fitness and effort levels.

Not so sure it is fitness levels - half of the battle is in the mind - and I think Kean has lost that battle. To be honest - given the run of results - the players had previously been largely behind him. However - the last three games we have been out fought.

I said it after the Wigan match - he has obviously lost the battle - he won't get us out of this hole - as I think he has lost the faith of the majority of the players.

Hopefully the Venky's will not be so daft that they don't recognise this.

I'm afraid the vast majority of Rovers fans at Ewood don't feel strongly enough about Kean and his record, as clearly shown by the relatively small numbers protesting after the last home game. The fans, as agreed, were broadly supportive during the game and Kean, in my opinion, has not felt the full force of the fans' frustration.

I previously agreed with the sensible, logical voices who insisted we keep our Kean/Venkys protests for after the game, bur surely even these voices of reason can accept that unless we physically force Kean to resign, we will be relegated into the footballing wilderness.

The only access to Kean, except for those of you planning to hunt him down, for the majority of fans is on Saturday at 3pm.

Trust me this will not happen but if we made every second a living hell for him, he would crack one way or another. His voice and verbal blunders tonight showed he's not far away.

I don't in any way wish him ill-health, but we need to make him 100% sure he is no longer welcome at our club by any true Rovers supporter.

This will not happen, of course, as there will be open warfare in the Riverside and JW as there are thousands still who don't agree with any type of dissent, but who cannot suggest an alternative to save our club.

So, it is not now an attempt to encourage the Venkys to fire him, but purely our attempt, on Saturday, to make the abuse so clear to him for 90 minutes, that he feels he has no choice (for the sake of his family, friends etc, or any other reason) but to agree that he has taken us as far as he can do, and resign.

This, I feel, is down to the Blackburn End, and as many as are brave enough in the tunnel sections of the enclosure.

This would work, but we need to brave the physical abuse that will come our way from what may still be a majority who prefer to sit on their hands as Ewood burns(apologies for the metaphor-mixing)

I was one of that majority until tonight.

Tired of feeling like enough is enough. The last 2 games have clearly proved that the players are no longer sure of Kean as a manager. In some ways I admire some fans ability to stay calm and just support the players during a match at Ewood but when Kean is stood on the touchline like he's Gods gift to football management it is extremely difficult not to make your voice heard. I can't imagine any Rovers fan has any hope in Steve Kean anymore. The players I have hope in if they are under the guidance of a more respectable, experienced and talented manager. Coaching is only half the battle as you have to be an excellent man manager to be successful at a club like Blackburn Rovers. Steve Kean has proved that he cannot do this job so how much longer do we really need to suffer?

Lowest i've ever felt as a Rovers fan by a long way, I had much more hope than this when Kidd was in charge, maybe because I knew that Jack would do the right thing if things got really bad, and he did in the end because he got us a manager that took us back to the Premiership.

Ewood on Saturday is going to be one very hostile place if things go badly, which I fully believe they will after tonight.

I salute the true, committed fans who travelled to Cardiff tonight. No, that doesn't mean there are not many equally committed fans who didn't get to the game, I just want to salute the brave souls who took the chance to show Kean there is nowhere to hide (and who hoped we could get to yet another League Cup semi).

The master plan is really starting to take shape.

One less cup distraction. A certain 3rd round FA cup exit to come.

Then we can focus like a stalking Puma on one of those Champions league places.

I have to hold my hands up and admit that up until tonight I doubted Venkys ability to deliver on their promises.

Not now. I can see the genious of their strategy.

If Keano says we are definately not going down and Venkys have Champions league aspirations, they've convinced me.

When do season ticket applications get posted out?

Just back in from the game now. A complete and utter shambles from start to finish. The part that worries me the most is that most of the team that played tonight are first team regulars. Bunn and Blackman don't get much game time, but all the rest do and most of them were awful. Givet and Formica are the only two who I would give any credit to at all. Obviously in cup games results like this can happen, but they didn't even try tonight for the most part and we created next to nothing going forward. I hope that Kean has lost the team, because that in my eyes is the only way we'll get rid of the pillock.

I don't think anyone at Ewood will be anything but vitriolic towards Kean following the last 3 performances. On Saturday there will be no hiding place for the lip licking lizard.

After saturdays shambles, what kind of priick thinks its a good idea to make pie-eating shyster the captain. Two fingers to the fans.

Dunn is a disgrace....he should feck off.

Tonight was one of the very few occasions where a Rovers defeat was arguably for the greater good. If a convincing defeat against a championship side isn't enough to get rid of him, then nothing will be.

You forget that Venky's are on a totally different planet to the rest of us. if they knew what they were doing, he would've been sacked long ago. Not handed a new contract.

India are a good few hours ahead of us so I hope that when I get up in the morning they will have had time to sack the idiot. I'll not hold my breath though...

India maybe a few hours ahead(6 i think), but the venkys are about 6 months behind, their still celebrating not getting relegated last season!!!!

Correct. They have zero understanding of football. Anyone of us could have run this club better than Venkys have done so far even without a business backround, because we understand football better than they ever will.

We would simply have made sounder decisions.
