[Archived] Cardiff City v Rovers League Cup quarter-final

To predict a scoreline I'm going for 2-1 to Cardiff. I think they will be more up for it. They have one play in top form at the moment who I think would walk into Rovers side right now in Peter Whittingham. Rovers showed on Saturday that we are naff at defending set pieces without Samba in the team so all it'll take is a few decent deliveries from this guy and it could get embarrassing.

Considering the teams left in and being realistic we would be better off out of the cup. We would avoid injuries if nothing else.

Kean will go all out for this match as the cup run is the ONLY slight highlight of his entire time in charge.

Even with that in mind I think we will lose bu=y the odd goal.

I am resigned to relegation so I have high hopes that the League Cup will provide a glimmer of light in the gloom and the players do themselves and Rovers justice with a stirring display. This isn't about Kean or Venky's who are obviously here for the duration - this is about Rovers getting to a semi-final or possibly a final and giving the fans and the town a lift. I would also be a reward for the loyalty of players such as Pedersen and Nelsen. Come on the Rovers.

This match is bad news whether we win or lose.

Win and it's almost certain we stop @ the semis and it gives Kean, possibly, more time.

Lose then at least we are out and can 'concentrate on the league', however, you can bet Kean will field a strongish team as he knows from a personal point of view that a win is important, however, we will play Swansea on Saturday with more fatigue in the legs than them.

Ironically if Rovers get to the final, you can take banners into wembley. They actually give you one. Ok its a flag but easierly adapted. Venkys would come over for the final. My view prem safety is more important than the cup.

Can anyone recall if fans have ever protested against the manager and the owners of their club at a Cup Final before ? Could be a first !

I have just seen his quotes from this morning and I'm not sure about the 'We'll put out a side that we think will do well' comment. Sounds a bit defeatist to me, should I return my ticket? Where has the positivity gone? But nevermind Dunn and Salgado are back - happy days.

Does anyone know if you can just pay into the away at end at the door or do you need a ticket in advance?

Can pay at the away end.

Got a spare ticket in the away end if anyone needs it. Just drop us a PM if interested!

I'm going... At this point I can't remember why.

I'll be the one holding my "Kean Out" banner.

I'll be there too - tempted to take my "Love Rovers Hate Kean" banner I had at the Norwich game but i'm not really up for getting set upon by thugs again!

I'd like to ask the same question about parking. Anyone got any suggestions?

I did read that there is some official parking near the away end for £5. Think the Gol centre is £4 but they give you tokens of that value to spend in their bar.

900 or so this morning.

Not bad all things considered. Still debating to go or not. Not really bothered about the result if im honest but games like this many miles from home with a hardcore following and good atmosphere really appeal to me :)

I used to do stewarding and security at Ninian Park. Was an interesting job for an English student; got my fair share of abuse!

Cardiff is a nice city and its a shame I can't make it to be in the away section tomorrow. I agree with other comments that it would be a boost to get through and maintain a slim hope of getting some success out of this season. Although I fear it would be a Birmingham City-style cup and relegation combo.

Defeat tomorrow would be a new low but I wouldn't be particularly surprised.
