One win and the media are back on Kean's side.

The pair on Football First just said it's time to wake up and smell the coffee. The Venky's aren't going to sack the fool so we should get behind the team.

Translated as: accept your fate in silence, please, nobody cares about little old Blackburn.

I think now the test will come to see if coco can string back to back wins hopefully we can however I fear it will be normal service resumed and given the fact the Mackems have a new manager this will be MON's honeymoon period and fear like other occasions we will get turned over but to have any chance of survival we need to win this & a clean sheet would be nice.

He is NOT liked by the players.

And far from looking stupid when we win, it just demonstrates the passion of Rovers' support and our determination not to have an incompetent lying moron in the dug out.

Not having a go here I just genuinely wish to know just how you know the players do not like him. All the speal from the commentators today was of players playing for their manager. A theme that has been consistent for a number of weeks now. They seem to believe that the players are infact with Kean. Can you sure why the players do not like him. Privately if you must.

So true. Give Venky's a few years and you could well be back down to your pre Jack measly crowds but if crowds are all that matters then we should all go and support Man U or one of the other 'big' clubs .

Anyway this is one MB poster who's pleased to see agent Kean in charge down the M65 :)

Well hello there Longsider, don't know how you did today but you seem to have been occupying the wrong end of your league. You lot must be thrilled to bits what with us and Owen Judas Coyle having his troubles. BTW can't you ever come up with anything original. I mean agent Kean, come on wasn't that ours for Agent Kilby? Seriously though are the Venkys season ticket holders at the turf, they must be I can't find any other real explanation for their antics.

Just a quick scan through the last few pages, just had a terrible thought with Kamy twittering kean still might get sacked, knowing Blingy Rao is like a star struck kid and we are now living through this weird Venky twilight zone - David Gest the next rovers manager ?

That has given me a great idea - we need a fund to bring over Akon and dress him up in the yellow t-shirt and come out at half time to sing "Kean and Venky's out".

From my perspective, up until today I was genuinely looking forward to the abuse Venkys were going to get... I know Kean is hated by the vast majority but the reason he's in the position he's in and the reason for why he's still there is VENKYS. They should be the object of any chants.

I was also very dissappointed at the lack of anti-Venkys chants, it's been said a thousand times, Kean is the symptom Venkys are the disease. Even if, in the infinitely unlikely event, that the Rao's manage to grow a brain cell and appoint a real manager and not a coach their record so far with anything football-wise is so appalling that I would dread to think who they would get. Apart from the fact - who would come? I loved the idea posted elsewhere of the "We hate you Venkys, we do" chant and was really looking forward to hearing it from the BBE yesterday but it was all anti-Kean chants. Venkys need to be embarassed, loud and clear, out of this club before the Qataris buy someone else. It really is the only hope for the club, getting rid of Kean will just move us from the frying pan to the boiling pot with Venkys in charge. In a few weeks if any club makes a bid for one of our players they will be off, Samba & Hoilett for certain, probably Nzonzi, Olsson and Robbo, the Yak if he keeps scoring and maybe even Lowe. We have about 3 weeks to save the club.

We should have switched to anti-Venkys chants when winning and at least half the "anti" chants should have been aimed at Venkys. The players have no attachement to Venkys, I can tell you for a fact that at least two of them are less than enamoured with them. Anti-Venkys chants / banners are a lot less likely to be perceived as anti-club. I think a few more "There's only one John Williams" and less "There's only one Jack Walker" would sting the chicken chokers.

BTW - anyone know who Kean was waving at in the JW Stand at the end of the game?

Yeah sorry, for a second I took the bait there

Easily done, some of these fellas are after all master baiters

So - had that Swansea shot that cleared the bar by a foot gone in at 3-2.... What do you think would have happened?

A total sliding doors moment.

For me, 4-2 flattered to deceive. We have NO defence.

What!!! You must be bloody joking. If this and if that. If Rochina had not gone off injured then Simon would not have mis hit that shot that Yak managed to head in then what would have happened. Silly silly stuff on here. I enjoyed the game was glad we won, was nervous thinking we had managed to give it away but we managed a win for that I'm thankful. I came on hoping to get some people's views on the game as used to be but alas it's all about Kean. So we fire him then what will some on here type about.

Excellent win today, 3 vital points and now off the bottom which is crucial for confidence. Yakubu & Givet the stars of our performance.....but also a mention for Samba, what a difference he makes to our team!

Now onto our need for signings.

I would rather we add a midfield in January.....Jermaine Jones on loan, and a goalscoring/ battling midfielder.

We dont have a problem scoring goals - we have now scored more goals than any other team outside the top 5.

Its our defending that is the issue, bue when you have a centre midfield of MGP (Soft) and Dunn (Knackered) you aint going to get much tracking going on, and they dont stick too many tackles in.

We're scoring because we're attacking without thinking about defending. A lot of similar type players in Hoilett, Formica, Rochina and Dunn who like to get on the ball and go forward - and aren't the best at tracking back. Especially our wingers have left our fullbacks vulnerable. I think we need a left back, a right back, one striker and two midfielders - preferably to slot straight into our starting XI. J. Jones would be perfect but Mahamadou Diarra could do a job as well. Wouldn't mind a cheeky loan bid for Lukaku either.

I thought Formica was excellent today also. Why can Peds no longer take a free kick with out hitting the wall and it seems like most of his passes go to the opposition. Lowe was good too IMO, not sure why one poster on here wants him in midfield I've only seen a bit of him there and he does not look as competent as he does defending. Again the lanky fella was pants when he came on, see I cant even remember his name or nationality he really does bring little if nothing he looks two or three leagues below Premiership standards

Paul Collins as caretaker would be a significant improvement over Kean.

I think there is more to that than just a passing commment. I saw on telly I forget exactly when I think it was after Swansea's second that oops Clement was talking to Kean the visual was classic Kean had a blank expression and it was oops Clement (collins twin brother) doing all the talking. Clearly he was bailing numpty out Kean simply looked clueless.

Well I have to admit to a grain of optimism this morning. Twice during yesterday's game I found myself sat back and feeling quite comfortable, both times Swansea scored!!

Taking a look at the table, our fixtures, other teams' matches and dreaming about results I can see us climbing out of the bottom three before Christmas. I never even dreamed of that a week ago.

We need Wolves and Sunderland to draw today. Next weekend I expect ourselves, Wigan and Wolves to lose, Bolton to draw making our following two home games crucial. West Brom and Bolton in five days , I'll take a draw against WBA and beating Bolton.

I don't think we played especially well yesterday and largely have the Yak to thank for the win. He put in a great striker's performance taking every chance which came his way. It won't happen every week. Swansea were neat and tidy, kept the ball well but carry very little threat. You can see why they are doing well but also how a few bad results could send them on a downward spiral. Not too different from Rovers really except we are ragged and untidy and carry little threat. What I don't understand is how manage to score all these goals?

I may have to go and check what's been put in my coffee!!

After googling David Gest I now know he's famous for marrying Liza Minelli and excessive amounts of plastic surgery. So what was the permanently surprised American doing in a box at Ewood? Is this the best we can do for a celebrity fan these days?

One win and everything is okay again? Do I misunderstand your point?

For me, yesterday was just as heartbreaking as ever because it showed what we could be with some proper tactical nouse. Imagine those same players with the boost of having a proper manager.

Don't be silly, I'd have thought my overall views on the Raos and Kean are clear. Things are far from alright.

I'm just saying I feel a tiny, tiny but happier this morning. A loss, draw and win in the next three games could see us out of the bottom three, that's all. If that happens i'll feel a bit better for a while.

Sorry if me feeling slightly more positive than a week ago upsets people

All right Blue, yeah the agent Kean thing is a direct steal from your agent kilby line :)

We did well today and have won 3 in a week, so the championship being what it is we've gone from bottom 3 with about 20 mins to go last Saturday to 10th - it won't last but our woes are definitely in the board room.

As for Venky's , they've not actually been seen at the turf but there's a few keeping an eye out, expecting them to turn up soon. Like you i cannot for the life in me understand what the venkys plan is. Equally as baffling as their backing of Kean is the trusts descision to sell to them.

We are having fun watching yourselves and Coyle having your troubles but to be honest we are as occupied at our own end trying to work out how the hell we can be skint after the premier league bonanza. Real fears here we might end up doing a PNE.

Don't worry you'll be back down to earth soon.

(Believe me I hope I'm wrong when I say that - I'll put up with Kean being a smug illegitimate if it means we stay up).

EDIT: Just as an aside - I just watched Kean's post match comments on MOTD, apparently it's been a great week for the players! He just doesn't know when to shut his pie-hole.

Theno's Lancashire Utd draws ever nearer a reality :angry2:

My worry - we could haul ourselves out of the bottom three - but given our games over xmas could quickly find ourselves back in it again.

Whether Kean is still here or not - the one player we need to buy in January above all others would be Jermaine Jones - we miss him as much (if not more) than the other Jones.

Yesterday was my first game back at Ewood since the club became a train wreck. The lads I go to games with now all want kean sacked having largely wanted to give him a chance. Similarly they are all anti Venkys having welcomed them just over a year ago. What hasn't changed is their disdain for The Walker Trust.

I was warned about the atmosphere but I didn't find it as 'poisonous' as I had been warned. That said, the family in front of us who have had season tickets for years looked distinctly uncomfortable at the 'Kean out' stuff. Sad that true Rovers fans should feel intimidated at Ewood.

I was delighted by the result but concerned at a central midfield of Dunn and MGP. Nothing like good enough for the Premier League. Swansea float like a butterfly and not much else, those two will be blown away by better sides.

Yet again Rovers win when I miss the game!

I think we all knew that Kean would come out and milk it rather than say 'there's much more needed'

You can't win with the media, if the protests had stopped for one win they wouldve called us fickle fans

Yakubu was world class today! 10 goals in 10 games, 9 in league and 1 in cup!! 4 goals and its historic as the first rovers player to score 4 in a game!

Thats great keep it up! He could had 5 today....but...he's an bargain already.

I have to say that Vukcevic was very good when he came on and he made two goals today. He's mask was ugly but who cares...If he's fit and ready he should play.

Then I think Samba and Givet was outstanding, the only changes I would like to do is put in Olsson and Nzonzi in the side and take out Dunn and maybe Dann.... I think Givet is a better player than Dann..

Cheers!

The atmosphere wasn't as bad as expected because we were winning! It's hard not to just get behind your team when they are winning. You have to force yourself to protest when all you want to do is revel in 3 points. Had Swansea got the second just before half time instead of us i think you'd have noticed the change in the atmosphere. that's what pundits and commentators don't understand because for the most part they are not fans. You can be delighted with 3 points which keep you in touch with teams round you and give you a fighting chance whilst still being able to see the bigger picture and know that this is most likely a flash in the pan and the manager will probably be responsible for the next 4 games or more being lost.
