Is David guest (not sure that's how u spell it) actually a rovers fan or was it some daft Venkys publicity stunt???

He was actually there as a guest of Robbo. Rachrover asked him after the game and that's what he said.

Yes there were other chants, but booing because Kean was celebrating a goal??? What the hell was all that about? Booing each time they score? Aren't you meant to be backing the team and getting behind them?

I was, and many others around me were annoyed at the fact that the 'Kean Out' chants were done during the game. His post match comments are spot on. Why boo when we're winning?

F me we've had 2 wins that's one more than one !! The mans a lying piece of turd who blamed fans for spiking his bud with 17 vodkas!! One win doesn't mean he da man !

Protesters have been accused of only doing it when losing and now it's done at other times people scoff!!!!

Made it up??

I fully understand the protesters point of view I just dont particularly agree that chanting for Kean to be sacked throughout the game and afterwards regardless of the result, helps anyone. Venky's aren't going to sack him because he's unpopular, because if so he would have gone last summer. The only way he's going to get sacked is if we lose games. But even having lost to championship opposition, he's remained as manager.

Now, obviously, its tempting to therefore hope that we lose every fixture until he's sacked but by that time we'll probably be cast adrift at the bottom of the table and no new manager could get us out.

I think Venky's will find any reason to keep him on and there was no guarantee that losing today would have cost Kean his job.

Basically for the protests to be effective, the national media need to take them seriously. I dont think protesting after matches that we've won will look very good and Im also not sure that only targeting Kean is the right way to go about it either.

'Phoning in your opinions'??

Ive driven up to stay in Blackburn about a dozen times this year from Brighton (costs money by the way) not to mention the away trips.

Jesus, to resort to that is pathetic.

Yes you made it up out because you weren't there and it didn't happen. I was there and can tell you that there wasn't "Kean Out" chants all the way through the match.

So I'll tell you what's pathetic, you perpetuating a myth just to have a moan at the protesters.

Do you think that helps the cause, people like yourself perpetuating such myths?

Dead right there Jim, we had a bit of resilience and bite then. Once we'd got our act together we did start grinding out reults. You could see a shape to the team and you could see what the players were all expected to do. If we'd have had a good goal scorer we'd have been OK. It's totally different now we're totally shapeless as a team.

The team that ended last season plus a natural goalscorer in Yakubu in his present form and Kean's promise of Europe might not be so far fetched. As it stands the team has too many piano players and not enough brickies.

How pedantic do you want to be?? Of course people weren't chanting for every single minute of the match, what I meant was that the chants were sung at various stages throughout the match, regardless of the scoreline.

Perpetuating myths? Get a grip.

Are you kidding? The only thing tiresome is most of you lot moaning about a win.

I've "re-emerged" because it's a match day and I have a life during the week which includes things away from a messageboard bitch fest :)

Also, not once did I see with my 20/20 vision (tested last week) Kean "giving it the big 'un" to the BBE when Yak scored. But I suppose you see what you want to see.

Nevermind though, If Yak likes Kean let's Boo him. He obviously doesn't care about the fans. Who by all accounts know more about football than any bugger in the game. Yak shouldn't have his own opinion and if he does he's wrong!

It's funny in a way that most on here think if they shout loud and long enough people will take notice and take them seriously...

Yakubu wasn't being boo'd.

I'll add I didn't agree with the booing, but it clearly wasn't at Yakubu.

As for the bits I've put in bold, sounds like you're talking about yourself. Some of your responses suggest you just love an argument for the sake of it. And staying away from a "bitch fest" isn't like you at all is it? You're usually at the center of it.

If I said Alan Shearer was the best striker ever to be seen in a Rovers shirt you'd argue that Jason Roberts works harder.

How pedantic do you want to be?? Of course people weren't chanting for every single minute of the match, what I meant was that the chants were sung at various stages throughout the match, regardless of the scoreline.

I'm not being pedantic, that's what you bleeding wrote. If you don't want to get pulled up on it, write what you mean in the first place.

You should get a grip, of your keyboard and write what you really mean in future

What I don't understand is why we continue to play our right footed winger (Hoilett) on the left and our left footed wingers (Rochina and Vukcevic) on the right. Although I know it means they can cut in I would much rather see them play on their natural flank to allow them to put decent crosses in. We know for a fact Rochina and Vukcevic have excellent deliveries, so much that I would like to see Vukcevic take free kicks etc instead of MGP. Still can't understand the rationale in letting Brett leave, he would have been invaluable to us this year with his versatility.

i thought swansea were a weak-ass side, very flimsy, nice passing team but no backbone, im tipping them to go down along with rovers and wigan.

Yep ! Thats exactly how the bookies are calling it right now.

I think it is mainly set up that way because Hoilett is more effective down the left and he is our most potent player, so everyone is shuffled around to accomodate him. .Hoilett could go more central, but on the right I think he lacks the same sort of threat as he does on the left.... also I think Formcia could maybe do a job in a deeper role (Dunn is useless as he hasn't got the pace or bite in the tackle) and Pedersen - after a run of good games -is doing his standard fading act.

Lowe Samba Givet Olsson

Vukcevic Nzonzi Formica Rochina

Yakubu Hoilett

Protesters should be chanting before and after the game, not DURING the game. How hard is it for people to understand?

We're 3-2 up, what do the numpties do? Starting booing the manager. Great way to instill the confidence back to your players.

Was one of the strangest atmosphere I've ever experienced at Ewood to be honest yesterday. The Kean Out chants where frequent yet not wholly resounding around the ground, still heard people saying we should't be protesting against Kean because we happened to be winning at the time. As if suddenly leading against a newly-promoted side that has failed to win a single away game so far this season is something worthy of changing you mind over whether you want one of the worst ever Premier League managers out of your club.

It was an unforunate occurance that the Yak choose to go over to Kean after scoring his first. It was obvious booing would incurr and some would say rightly so, thought at the time that Kean did a delibrate double fist pump in celebration towards the Blackburn End but maybe he was genuinuley just celebrating.

We scored four yet the game was still a big struggle for large parts, the game changed in our favour larger due to two seperate incidents. The injury of Rochina was a blessing in disguise, he's woeful at defending and keeps going for slide tackles all the time, the introduction of Simon meant the team had much better shape and you can clearly see he's much more aware when it comes to defensive duties. He also played a part in the second and fourth goals. The second event in the game was the Swansea sending off, at the point in the game it was 3-2 and looked only a matter of time before Swansea scored. The crowd was very quiet as if waiting for the evitable thrown away lead again. But the sending off changed all that and the penalty shortly after confirmed the victory although Robbo still had to pull off a late great save to keep it 4-2.

The undoubted Man of the match was Yakubu, four chances and four goals (or 5 in 5 if you count the offside goal) can't ask for more than that from your striker really. But there's still plenty of worring signs defensively and in midfield, a central midfield pairing of Dunn & Pedersen is one you wouldn't get away with against most teams in this league. We did press the play well for periods in the game but sitting off at 3-1 was a big mistake and we invited pressure on. Yesterday was largely a win for the laws of probabilties, Kean's team once again was improved due to enforced subs and the sending off (slightly harsh in my opinion) prevented an almost inevitable 3-3 draw. This game might be a turning point in the season, we may look back and say this is the game we turned it round and went on a run or altneratively this is the game that kept Kean a job that led to our relegation. One thing I'm sure of is that it's nice to get a win in the league, starting to forget what the feel likes lets hope we don't have to wait so long for the next one.

I thought it was always down to appreciation of Brett to let him go back to Oz when he wanted to, he always said he wanted to play back down under whilst he was still at his best. So I think it was down to him and not the Rovers or the management.

I agree, swapping wingers ( right footer on the left and vice versa ) is flavour of the month at the moment but I don't believe it's the best policy especially for teams like Rovers. All it leads to is wingers being funnelled into and and accross an already crowded penalty area. You ask any defender which situation is easiest to defend against, the player getting outside the defence and turning the back four around or the player being funnelled across the edge of the box in front of the back four ? I played in defence and it's no contest.

At the end of the day, Brett had a year left on his contract so if we wanted to keep him there was nothing stopping us!

The decision to let him go now looks increasingly stupid as we could do with someone of his qualities right now.

It is like the charge of the light brigade. The players are playing for the manager unlike ince. The problem is how he wants them to play. There is no doubt our attacking play has improved under Kean but at the expense of our defence. He just can't get the team to be solid as a unit. I am happy with the win yesterday and hope we now kick on with or without Kean.

I've got an idea, why don't we get in a specialised defensive coach??? Mmmm Let me think, someone said George Graham, He'd rather be in charge, I know lets get in on of his old players, what about Winterburn?? He's not doing much.

We couldn't keep phil Jones and Schalke were asking too much for Germaine Jones but why let Emerton go?

And, as you say, where are the replacements?

I'm keen to see what happened to our wage bill as we have splashed out lots of new contracts since the chicken overlords descended. I wonder whether the players you've mentioned salaries being off the wage bill brought them back down to more manageable levels, hence no replacements. Some of the rumoured figures for said new contracts were frightening, but until we see the accounts who knows?

He was actually there as a guest of Robbo. Rachrover asked him after the game and that's what he said.

I wonder if this David chappie's holding up of a Kean Out T-shirt is reflective of his friend Robbo's views???

Very pleased with the win, the table does look better today. Not to happy with his comments on the Sunderland game as it's almost like he's forfeited that one as well, so here's what I'd do for that game since it seems Keans devoid of positives on that one.

Vuckevic looks like a player although for some reason I can't help but want to call him 'Kryton'??? For me he's a must start as he's most likely our best player technically at the club. I will be much happier when Olsson's back and Givet can move back to CB alongside Samba, I'd chuck Dann out at RB for now as well. I would like to see Lowe in midfield and Vuckevic playing means MGP's set pieces are now second in line for me as Vuckevic can have that responsibility from now on. So Lowe alongside N'zonzi in the middle for me from now on, kean take note, there's more to come. I've toyed with Salgado in midfield but he's slow and his whole career was attack focused so I'm not sure he would positionally hold up (try it training and see), but he's up for the fight and we have some serious holes in our squad. We desperately need to learn how to defend and set out to defend and then switch when we get the ball and use the pace we have to exploit the space on the break. I do worry about two of our players work-rates in Junior and Yakubu, but both have shown how important they are in other area's so clearly they must start. Which really leaves only one more space left as Robbo's a given, Dunn's past it and for me his role should really be as a sub or 'impact' player, Rochina has scored goals. Anyway we have to get more steel in our midfield and Sunderland are stronger than us here 2 v 2, so 3 it needs to be, so I'd take a chance and play Salgado (obviously spend all week in training practicing).

Robbo

Dann Samba Givet Olsson

Salgado

'Kryton' N'zonzi Lowe Hoillet

Yakubu

But for it to work someone's going to need to make it clear to Hoillet that tracking back is required. This means telling him in training in a manner that gets them to do so (he's had 1 year as their boss surely he knows what and how to say things to get through to his players by now?), during the game he'll also need to do so from the technical area. Sunderland will be buoyed and under the influence of first match euphoria, so we must get behind the ball and then use the pace we have to counter especially at the start of the match. 35,000 Sunderland fans just got their Xmas early, they will drive the players on from the off as well and given our defensive prowess Numbers seems the best option. But this means planning a match strategy and taking a more defensive approach which he doesn't seem capable of doing? Attacking wise, Hoillet and Vuckevic will have to be the outlets and looking at Sunderland their full backs don't look the best defensively so we should focus our attacking play here.

Fully agree. Whist never one of Bretts greatest supporters he could have done a very good job for us at right back for this season. He should have stayed till at least the end of the season. Another example of Kean's capabilities as a manager.

First opportunity to post on yesterday's game so apologies if I have covered anyone else's views.

1. Great performance by Yakubu who is turning out to be one of the buys of the season. However his purple patch will end soon and it is worrying to look for goals elsewhere in the team. I may be wrong but I thought the only meaningful save the keeper made from any other Rovers player was the one from Robinson.

2. Swansea completely bossed the midfield. Dunn and MGP are not the right players for centre midfield. I thought the sending off was harsh. If he had stayed on we would have been under a lot of pressure for the last 10 minutes.

3. Defence still looks shakey. Primarily because centre backs get dragged wide to support the full backs as there is still inadequate tracking back from Hoilet and Rochina.

4. I would play someone in centre midfield just protecting the back four just like Mokoena used to do for Hughes

5. Thought the protesters got their point across good particularly booing Kean for his response to the BBE after the first goal. I sit in the sterile Walker Stand where everyone keeps quiet but the chants etc where obvious and occurred at the right times showing it isn't a minority. The fact that the papers and Kean keep focusing on the protests is a positive bonus and keeps the pressure on him and help spreads the message.

6. Hoilet played better but then we are coming up to the January transfer window.

7. Still question marks about Dann

8. Was Simon so embarrassed about playing for Rovers that he tried to disguise himeself with that mask.

9. One swallow doesn't make a summer he is going to win the occassional game. Remember the results after the Arsenal match. Sunderland away with it being O'Neill's first game in charge will the the hardest fixture in the league next week.

10. Unfortunately it looks like Kean has once again has staged the great escape. The question marks still remain and with him still there we are heading for relegation. Lest see what tomorrow brings but I am not holding my breath.

I dont think thats fair. In hindsight maybe Kean should have kept him but at the time I think most people appreciated that Brett wanted to move down under and he deserved to be given respect for his time here.

Im pretty damn sure Kean would have received a load of abuse if he had refused to let Brett leave.

Enerton is a big boy. He was being paid a lot of money to play for Rovers (with a contract he signed willingly). He should have stayed to the end of his contract. He was a member of the squad and could have been of value to the team.

Oh I forgot players are such tender sensitive creatures they have to be shielded from the real world.

Dont agree.

- Vukcevic

- Rochina

- Formica

- Hoilett

- Olsson

- Pedersen?

We only need a player ala Jermaine Jones. Hard tackling midfielder to make sure that our formica, rochina/vukcevic,yakubu, hoilett get more freddom going forward.

I stood up in the Riverside and although there were more people standing than in the JW stand, the amount that still remained seated made me feel out of place too. For example the people all around us who criticize and chant about Kean at every home game but stayed on their arses. Disappointing really. One guy complained about people standing up as he couldn't see (even though it was more brief than someone heading to the toilet and asking people to stand) and then within five minutes was shouting at the top of his voice to get a new manager in  Then I heard an old fella say to him... "Well why were you moaning about people standing up a few minutes ago you wally?" Couldn't help but laugh.

The good thing about that is it was aimed squarely at Kean and showed him that it's not a minority. Looking around the ground I was surprised at how many others were standing. Never known a manager to be so hated. Even the people who don't agree with some of the protests (for example I didn't agree with boo'ing directly after the goal) want him out of the club.
