Backroom Tom Posted December 7, 2011 Backroom Posted December 7, 2011 Funny how opinions change so much, anyone remember how they felt about Savage before he came to Rovers? I hated him then loved him very early into his Rovers career. He seems to have turned around the wider football fanbase opinions as well, good on him.

It easy to love villans when they play for you
Steve Kean's Hypnotoad Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 well look at Diouf, many fans took to him and he is the lowest of the low previous to Rovers. It easy to love villans when they play for you I always thought the criticism of Diouf was way out of proportion to be honest. Admittedly I joined in as much as anyone when he was at Bolton but I always saw him more of a pantomime villain than a real villain. You contrast him to the other characters in the game and he's barely worth a mention. Diouf spat at someone once, used to dive around a bit, likes a good argument and enjoys winding up away fans. Barton stubbed a lit cigar into the eye of a youth player, ran someone over in his car, had a fight with a 15 year old Everton fan and punched an opposition player on the pitch. And yet Diouf used to get more stick than Barton, says it all about the average IQ of footy fans.
