dave birch Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 I know this could be put in a plethora of threads, but I want it to stand out. It's something that many on here can relate to, we've all seen someone, clearly out of their depth, getting a leg up the ladder. Enter Steve Kean. All I can say is, Steve, I've seen, many times, people being promoted above their capabilities. It is sooo obvious. Try not to be blinded by your own ego, one's opinion of oneself tends to be exaggerated. My suggestion to you, Steve, is to back out graciously and quickly, before you become even more tainted. If you don't, you'll become even more untouchable. Have a look at your record. There is no way it can be described as acceptable, and, in any other business (and I include any that the Venkys own) you would have been shown the door, or, in a more humane manner, put into a position that you could be of value to the company. The second part of the problem is that our owners have to acknowledge and accept that they have made a mistake. This is more difficult than trying to get a set and inform Tendulkar out. Indians have a fierce pride, and rightly so, but, from time to time, they have to realise that they are going to make mistakes. Correcting them quickly is a sign of an honest and astute business leader who has a keen (lol) eye and a responsible attitude to those key businesses under their care. So, to Mr Kean, leave, as soon as possible, don't let your ego get in the way. To the Venkys, acknowledge and correct your mistake. I look forward to seeing some good cricket from India in Australia this summer, maybe watch Sachin get his 100th ton.

Chapter 10 - How to Manage a Football Club. Chapter 11 - Coaches Get Found Out. (about wannabe managers) Venkys should be forced to read and learn.

AllRoverAsia Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 I wonder if they'll buy the book? Has Steve read it? Kean wouldn't be able to - his head is too far up Mrs D's ****

Sparky Marky Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 I dont know who stevie supports personally....but I can guarantee he wouldn't want someone as inept and inexperienced as he is managing.
Clitherover Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 I dont know who stevie supports personally....but I can guarantee he wouldn't want someone as inept and inexperienced as he is managing. I think he's a Celtic fan.
Neil Weaver Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 I think he's a Celtic fan. If it was possible to get an honest answer out of him (I know, so it'll never happen) it might be interesting to hear his thoughts on John Barnes' tenure there.
