jim mk2 Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Biggest game of hoofball i've ever seen. How this is promoted as 'super sunday' i'll never know. From the El Classico... to this! Barcelona eat your heart out! Good to hear - Barcelona are boring to watch. Also shows Kean might be learning.
bigbrandjohn Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Three subs used. Could be a long 40 minutes. Stay calm Dunny
Gogger Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 What would you have done? Get a grip, when its deserved its deserved, but dont simply criticise with hindsight. Not play him to begin with? This isnt the first time this season players are coming off injured. There is clearly problems regarding playing players who isnt match fit yet. And now Salgado is struggling..
Rover Down Under Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 All subs used now. This could be bad, Sunderland are dirty, the ref is worse than useless and some of our players seem to be about as tough as marshmallows at the moment. Could end up with 9 or 10 men and nothing to do with red cards.
martmitch Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 At least it's not possible for Roberts to get on now
Miker Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Way too many injuries... if we somehow manage to hang on for 3 points here and then beat Bolton next week as well then Venky's absolutely have to throw funds at the club so we can get at least 4 or 5 players to strengthen the squad. Threadbare right now.
all you need is duff Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 How bad must right back/midfielder Bruno Ribeiro be to not even get on the bench today?
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted December 11, 2011 Moderation Lead Posted December 11, 2011 Such a scrappy game in midfield, we need to break in numbers a lot better, it just seems to be a 1 or 2 man attack going forward!
Backroom DE. Posted December 11, 2011 Backroom Posted December 11, 2011 Another shocking decision from Walton, favours us this time, but what a poor referee he is.
Lurid Coat Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 F*** me, Sunderland are some dirty barstewards! This reminds me in a way of Arsenal away in 2007 (I think). We scrapped our way to a 0-0 draw, after having been destroyed for 90+ minutes. I believe Bruno Berner played left midfield that match. Formica and Simon are amazing, and especially Simon is quickly starting to look like a cult hero. Face mask, technical abilities en masse and with a massive workrate. Formica also deserves lots of credit for his workrate. The new Batistuta? More like a Zanetti or Cambiasso.

sam_rovers Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 still don't understand why coco let emerton leave..
Backroom DE. Posted December 11, 2011 Backroom Posted December 11, 2011 We need to try and alleviate this pressure, this can't last without conceding.
jim mk2 Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 still don't understand why coco let emerton leave.. ... and E-H Diouf. How we miss those two.
martmitch Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Sat right back. Only a matter of time, if we don't concede it will only be down to Sunderland being useless
Backroom Tom Posted December 11, 2011 Backroom Posted December 11, 2011 We are playing like we have ten men we need to attack in order to defend
sam_rovers Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 I think its incredible that coco expects the team to defend the entire second half without conceding.. you don't go defensive from half time.. we're playing against a team that isn't great and has a really inexperienced striker on the pitch..
Gogger Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 We don't have any other players to play though. Fair enough if we did, but we don't. Seem to recall us two fullbacks this summer. The fact that they are so bad that we cant play them is up to the guy who bought them, aka Kean. Just because Kean is in such a dire need of wins to keep his job doesnt mean that I have to accept him gamlbing with players injuries which more often than not leads to worse injuries.
DeadlyDirk Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 I fear the worst, we are now starting to play like there is 3 or 4 minutes left, not 30. The fitness of Dunny and Yakubu now especially is going to be severely tested. Would love for us to try and nick a goal somehow and get a bit more of a cushion, this is as they say, squeaky bum time. Come on Rovers!!!!!

I suspect a lot of it is a natural reaction from the players rather than an instruction from kean. 3 quick changes leaving us with 2 kids at the back will take some adjustment.
