cravenblue Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 With results as they currently are, only a win is accetable tomorrow
broadsword Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 I guess it doesn't need spelling out that if we lose tomorrow we really are shafted. With Sunderland dropping into the drop zone, I'd expect them to be well revved up. And there's absolutely no chance Kean will outwit O'Neill. So, it will all come down to whether or not Yakubu can slot a few in. Going to be a really bacon-slicer afternoon.
Mercer Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Does anyone know how many tickets we've sold for tomorrow. With it being on Sky and judging by how many we took to Stoke (also on Sky), wouldn't anticipate more than 250 making the trip. As things stand, our next 3 fixtures are against teams in the bottom six. Anything less than 6 points and we are stuffed.
Pedro Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 It is definitely a winable game tomorrow and there is a lot of pressure on both sides. I'd be happy with a point.
Audax Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 I'm not sold that Sunderland can take this game, I do believe the Rovers have played some good games this year, vs. Chelsea. Sunderland may have the will and desire, this is like a playoff game, with all of those teams winning, the 2 bottom clubs will definitely suffer. Wigan I believe needed this game big time. Next games: Chelsea (H) Liverpool (H) Man Utd. (May not get anything from these 3)(A) Then, a bit easier: Stoke Sunderland
Mercer Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Some whispers that Hoilett & Olsson will miss out tomorrow with injury. Massive blow if correct.
Veevs Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Bottom of table now starting to look a little scary.. Norwich a whole 9 points above us 14 Fulham 15 -2 15 15 West Brom 15 -9 15 16 Wolves 15 -12 14 17 Wigan 15 -15 12 18 Sunderland 14 -1 11 19 Blackburn 14 -11 10 20 Bolton 15 -16 9 More than a 1/3 of the season gone so not looking promising... still at least Bolton lost so we are not bottom
Waggy76 Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 I have said since the Wolverhampton opening game , if kean remains the manager we will get relegated... We are a poor team who every now and then put a performance in , which usually ends in defeat .He has been manager for nearly 12 months , which is in itself an indictment of the current owners of BRFC>>>
Plastic Head Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 This game is historically dire. Not expecting anything different. Them at least 3. Us no more than 2.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 I'd take a point right now !!!! We need to put a run of wins together to get out of this horrible mess.
ABBEY Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 About 300 sold last I heard. Speaks volumes!! Kean and venkys !!! Scum!!!
JAL Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Got to say after reading various members posts on Sunderland, this IS a winnable game for Rovers. Can we do it though.
Waggy76 Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Got to say after reading various members posts on Sunderland, this IS a winnable game for Rovers. Can we do it though. You are right , a winnable game , in some ways a little unfortunate to be MON first home opponents . I suspect one managers knowledge of the game to be far superior to the others .. I hope we win , but I cannae see it !
aletheia Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Aplogies for off topic. Roberts and Robbie on 606. Asked which 3 statues would you have at Ewood, Robbie quick as a flash says "to be be fair, how about jason, he's a statue every week" or words to that effect. :-))
AllRoverAsia Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 O'Neil wants Sunderland to play like Barcelona. Sunderland to be like Barcelona It seems like Kean's delusion is contagious. We will know who Barcelona A and B teams are after the final whistle tomorrow. TBH if either side can string more than 3 passes together tomorrow it will be a plus and I expect quite a bit of good old hoofball to be on show in a scrappy game.
miqaayil Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Why do i have a funny feeling we will win tommorrow ...
Myles Anderson Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 A highly positive 4-2 defeat. More work on shutting that bloody back door me thinks.
Backroom DE. Posted December 10, 2011 Backroom Posted December 10, 2011 We're in a situation now where these games are games we really have to win. A draw in seasons past would have been a perfectly acceptable result, but not now. We're too far gone to 'take a point' and be satisfied with a draw.
Pedro Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 We're in a situation now where these games are games we really have to win. A draw in seasons past would have been a perfectly acceptable result, but not now. We're too far gone to 'take a point' and be satisfied with a draw. Totally understand what you are saying but in terms of tomorrows match I just feel it is important that we don't let the team above us pull away - so I'd be content with a draw. We do need wins though!
Bluefudge Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 We need to put a run of wins together to get out of this horrible mess. Totally agree with you, just can't see us winning. Like to think we can, don't concede we win a point !!!
Audax Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Since Oct. 29th, Norwich, they've all been must-win games acknowledging that there will be a few opponents you will not defeat.
Audax Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Why do i have a funny feeling we will win tommorrow ... As a cartoon character said when I was a kid; "it's possiboo, it's possiboo"
