AllRoverAsia Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 well according to the mail article due to the bank problems only 300 are due to travel to today's crucial game. Rovers are lucky if 300 hardy souls are willing to travel that far in winter to watch 90 mins of crap.
Audax Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 The photo is too big to post here, http://www.sporting-heroes.net/files_football/O_NEILL_Mart_19780103_GH_L.jpg O'Neill during his playing days, some photos make one think of Everton's Fellaini's hair. It's certainly interesting that O'Neill played for those Nottingham Forest clubs that won League titles and in Europe under Brian Clough, I've read a few of those books on BC though I don't quite believe O'Neill's managerial style takes a lot after Clough's, maybe some. O'Neill was also in the Northern Ireland National Team that went to the 1982 World Cup which had some success I believe. Today's stories in the papers are saying Sunderland was his boyhood club. His is an interesting story. All that said, believe it got a bit difficult at the end of the 2009-2010 season even before he walked off at the beginning of the 2010/2011 season. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_O%27Neill That's some managerial record.
No Nay Never Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Was no more than 400 there new years day last year, and that wasn't on the tv.
Gav Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Absolutely no chance of a win today in my eyes, its was going to be hard enough without the MoN factor, but now he's taken over its almost impossible to win for me. 0-2 KEAN OUT AGNEW OUT
Give 'Em the Axe Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 It's gonna be on the box here in a couple of hours, meaning no dodgy stop-start stream for me. I've seen Sunderland an inordinate amount of times this season (thank you Ji-don Won) and they've never looked less than appalling. However, like many before me in this thread, I reckon the presence of MON will have us done for. I would love if we could get something from this but I fear away day ineptitude will prevail. A turgid, frustrating 2-0 to Sunderland. Hope I'm wrong!
ross-shire rover Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 I've been a Rovers supporter since the 1950s. I don't care what some of you say on here. Thanks to the current situation and shame on me for saying it, but I hope we lose 6-0 today. ( If the situation with Venks and Kean stays as it is, we're going to be relegated anyway ) This is not Blackburn Rovers as we know it. Everything is rotten at the club. When is a manager not a manager? When he's Steve Kean. Are Venky's just clueless or is there something more sinister afoot? What was that all about on M0tD last night? Good old Venkys and Blackburn Rovers and their community spirit. Who decided that should be shown at this particular time? Sky Sports, the media in general knocking the fans for protesting. What's going on?! Steve Bruce gone, well that's OK. Coyle likely to go, that's fair enough. We want changes and somehow we're all numpties. Unbelievable. Never been so angry about Rovers as right now. Can't believe long term fans sitting on their bums and pretending it'll all turn out all right. Sorry if this is the wrong thread but agh !!!!
Mike Graham Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 It will be shown live in India. I wonder if Mrs D and Barry White etc bother to watch?
Brad Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 On a brighter note. Hopefully we can get something here with the Yak hitting double figures for league goals..

I could not agree more !!!! Something is rotten in the state of Denmark ...
Nelsta Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 3-0 Sunderland. A rampant Sunderland will put a lacklustre rovers to the sword, somehow kean will come out smelling of roses!
den Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 I actually think we can win this one. While we're all expecting the big arrival to the SOL, to motivate his players, it could work out that the S'land players are actually confused by what's being asked of them. Form turnaround doesn't always happen from the off. [as we all know].
michaelthomas Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Robbo, lowe, samba, dann, givet, salgado, dunn, peds, vukcevic, formica, yak
Wimbledon Rover Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Loose: season effectively over Draw: continue slow terminal death Win: season completely changes, we'll go on to win next 2 games, and kean unbelievably picks up manager of the month for December. Key for today is keeping them out for the first 20 minutes! Whilst kean is hopeless, the situation is not quite lost yet! Need a big performance!
jimw1988 Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Robinson, Lowe, Salgado, Samba ©, Dann, Givet, Pedersen, Vukcevic, Dunn, Yakubu, Formica. Westwood, O'Shea, Bardsley, Brown, Bramble, Richardson, Larsson, Colback, Vaughan, Sessegnon, Wickham
SharrockDownSouth Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Given what's available, not a bad team. All relies on whether it's 4-3-3 or 4-4-1-1. Can see Sally and Givet getting ripped apart if the former given our current instructions to our wingers not to track back
jimw1988 Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Subs: Kilgallon, Dong-won, Meyler, McClean, Elmohamady, Noble, Carson Subs: Roberts, Goodwillie, Hanley, Blackman, Olsson, Henley, Bunn. Bench fails to inspire apart from Olsson. Surely Rochina would be ok, he only got some teeth removed!
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Hoilett being out may be a blessing in disguise away from home. We're going to need players who are willing to track back in particular to cover the full backs. Interested to see how Vukcevic gets on. Sunderland really aren't up to much. Getting strangely more optimistic about this one.
Puffsan Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 really exited for todays game. we have scored alot of goals so far, and sunderland have not. Think and hope we will win, and i hope we can avoid conceiving more goals than 1 maximum. One thing im 100% sure of. Rovers will score at least 1 goal.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Robbo, lowe, samba, dann, givet, salgado, dunn, peds, vukcevic, formica, yak Quite possibly the slowest team to grace the Prem. Also nobody in midfield that can tackle and no midfielders on the bench. 3-0 rovers
