Problem is Glen a lot of that isnt in the public domain (which may seem ironic coming from me) ie details of the meetings.

Most of it is in the public domain bar the meeting with Kean and the board meeting and the club will be making an official statement on that, All these people who think we just turn up and protest are sadly mistaken,

You have to have a reason to protest and a clear objective, you have to get your voices heard and do the leg work and go through the right channels, We have done things the right way, no arrest, no violence from protesters, got the media to cover the lot and made our way though the heriachy ladder at Ewood in search of the truth.

Glen all that is admirable and must consume so much time I bet you have little time or energy for anything else, however talking purely about the atmosphere I feel as though a line has been stepped across which is too much for me.

I do not see a successful end game cause you are now affecting the team and other fans adversely whilst I'm not sure your intended target(s) are listening.

Speaking from the heart I would urge you continue your other protests but leave the 90 mins of game time alone.

Roverwhelmed, good on you and your Mum. I heard her call as I drove down the A1 and she came across very well indeed. Whilst I agree that Green isn't a favourite commentator/pundit, he seems to be one of the few who grasps our situation - I don't remember him interrupting your mum at all to disagree with anything which is hardly the role of a phone-in presenter and says a lot about what she was saying too! Also interesting that a Sunderland fan was put through as well and ended up saying more about how and why he sympathised with Rovers fans than he commented about his own club!

It seems there is a definite undercurrent developing in football circles wondering what the hell is happening at our club. I'm not sure how, but I wonder if this should be the target of choice in the near future.

EDIT - I see you've just removed the part about the call from your post Roverwhelmed. Not sure why, but if you want me to amend my post get in touch via PM.

Thanks for the comments Neil :)

(She was just a bit shy about my mentioning it on twitter, so I thought I'd remove it from here, no need to amend your post but thanks for asking, appreciate it).

Its my birthday today and exactly 12 months to this day I was shocked when I switched on SSN to find out Allardyce had been sacked. I was very optomistic as Venkys had just taken over...........How wrong was I? This has got to be the worse 12 months for not just our club but for any it could have happened to. I wish Kean would resign and Venkys sell up. That would make this birthday my best ever.

Happy Birthday, Ralfinho! Mine's on Saturday and for the first time in about twenty years I won't be spending the nearest Sat. to my birthday at the Rovers, I'll be with my family. I won't have the Rao family and Kean spoil our day. So that's my 'truce' - not being able to stomach their nonsense any more.

Herein lies the problem for me.

No disrepect to the man but why would glen have to agree to something?

To me a false idol has been made of a couple of the more visible members of the protesters and now people look at them for what happens next which in turn sees them come up with another forced idea.

I just think its time everyone backed away from the spotlight and just see what happens at the game.

It wouldn't matter what Glen agreed to anyway - if people are fed up enough they will protest regardless of whether they didn't set out intending to. I've never booed a Rovers player, and unless one did something totally unacceptable, I never would but if we play like we did in the second half at Sunderland against West Brom, then I and many others will boo and boo some more. Kean did more damage with that second half performance than anything he's done so far.

Where's your evidence that performances have been affected? The worst home showing by far was Wolves- no protest.

Despite the problem that many don't use the internet, and not all use newspapers. Add to that the LET, does not really print what we ask so you kind of get stuck between a rock and a hard place. However this is what has been acieved so far:

Group sponsor WEC on board fighting the cause, they made first contact with me around 10 weeks ago and forwarded me a copy of their letter to Mrs Desai, MD Came to open supporters meeting at Uncle Jacks

We have held open meeting at Uncle Jacks and got a range of issue's supporters had.

Made direct contact with council and Jack Straw, have spoke to Mr Straw in person, Both council and Mr Straw have been into club and had a meeting

Thousands of emails and letters sent to Balaji, Vineeth Rao, Venkys, Paul Hunt,

Open letter in daily telegraph

had 3 month solid coverage by world papers and national Tv, whilst Sportstonight Tv and Sky done weekly coverage and interviews.

Send at least 3 press releases a week, and from that articles are written interviews done etc

Held (Lost count) Meetings with club,

Held interim supporters meeting with club officials and 8 supporters.

A petition handed in at the club

Got Paul Hunt to do Q/A With Let,

Have secured a meeting with Steve Kean and a group of supporters.

Have secured a supporters meeting with Board of directors and group of supporters.

Have interacted with thousands of fans worldwide, in person, by email and through networking sites. From this put together 70 key questions with have never been asked which will be part of the agenda for the supporters meeting with board. Have put together 33 solutions made up from supporters recommendations which board has said they will listen to and consider.

Had meetings with Paul Hunt and various telephone conversations.

Put together certian concerns with supporting evidence to bring up in meeting which will be independently chaired.

Prob missed loads off, as only 95% of this protest campaign is the leg work and negotiations, no point protesting if you can't get your voice heard, which we have and very quickly. I have had to put up with loads of abuse but the progress the protesters have made is immense, there is quite a lot I have missed off, but this is just a flavour of the work which has been put in to date.

We are happy with the progress we have made as we are just a group of supporters, for over 3 months we have had to put up with sniping, name calling, excuses etc, but we have carried on regardless against the odds, and will continue to do so

That's the main problem for me. In usual circumstances your voices would have been heard by the key decision makers and action would have been taken. Unfortunately, we are dealing with a very different situation at Rovers and although I don't have the answers, our owners/decision makers are either ignorant, inept, moronic or have some other ulterior motive for the way that they run the club. I just don't feel that the protests will get the ultimate job done because all you are really asking for is common sense from the owners...which they just don't have.

Very sensible idea Tom.

All Glen, Simon and co. have to do now is publicly call off the protests by issueing a statement going along the lines of, the club have made it quite clear to them that Steve Keans position as manger of Blackburn Rovers is safe and secure and that no matter how many protests this will not change the owners of Blackburn Rovers football club support towards Steve Kean. Throw in a few extra lines in about the Venky committment to the Walker trust............then sit back and watch what happens next. :rover:

I agree with this for the sole reason that if we don't win both of the next 2 games, not even Pep Guardiola could save us from relegation. There's no point in protesting for change when a change will make no difference to our survival chances and that will be the case if we drop any points whatsoever out of these 2. So yeah I agree, phenomenal support for the next 2 and then back to protesting against Liverpool.

Glen, that's all fantastic, but what positive effect has any of this actually had on the club and the team?

I genuinely want to know. All you've listed is the numerous ways you have found contact with the club or the media to say the same thing over and over again, but absolutely nothing has changed.

In essence all you have done is wasted god knows how many hours of the staff's time, time they could've been spending on more important matters, just to say the same thing over and over again. You have also put on excessive pressure on EVERYONE at the club when we are in a relegation scrap and need to be pulling together.

It's actually ludicrous that we are complaining about lack of communication when you have clearly demonstrated that the time and communication that the club has offered is actually way more than should ever be expected of any club or business.

The only reason the protests have continued is because the protesters no longer want to concede defeat to Kean, and they have bought into the completely false idea that the owners don't care about the club and want to destroy it from within.

I actually find it really ridiculous that one of the main premises of the protests was to at least be seen doing something in case things went under (as quoted by numerous people on here), but what is actually happening is you're contributing to the downfall of the club (by which I mean relegation) rather than saving it, by putting on excessive pressure on an injury-ravaged and youthful team. People aren't even bothering with excuses for that anymore, they're just saying " (Please don't use that word again) the team, they should deal with it".

Glen, every credit to you for fighting for what you believe in, your efforts so far have been not much short of incredible, and I take my hat off to you despite not agreeing with everything that has happened in the protests.

Leaving the protests to one side for the next two games is a great idea, but I can see why some don't.

It's not glen. And I don't think it's a personal attack either, so rather than coming back with a dismissive one liner give it some real thought it for an hour or two. Step well back, forget about all the effort you’ve put in and try to answer the question: “what positive effect has any of this actually had on the club and the team?”. I genuinely want to know your thoughts.

I started this topic because I (and plenty others) believe we all need to TRY pulling together for the next two games in order to give ourselves a fighting chance of survival.

I know it's not easy but the best thing you can do is ignore Kean and Venky’s and sing your heart out for the lads. Rovers are bigger than some chicken farmers and a babbling joch.

Also, seriously, which manager could come in and save us if we lose the next four? And who the hell would want to come to us anyway?? We have clueless owners and no executive team, meaning the manager has to carry out executive duties too. Hardly appealing is it. I'd say it's one of the worst jobs in football right now. No decent manager in their right mind would agree to the loopy set up we currently have.

And lastly I’d like to highlight and back the following points made by Miker:

  • You have made contact with the club and the media to say the same thing over and over again, but absolutely nothing has changed - it's not worked so try summat new.
  • It's ludicrous that we are complaining about a lack of communication when you have had shed loads of communication with the club - speaks for itself.
  • You have wasted god knows how many hours of the staff's time - sorry but it's true, and it's time that could have been spent developing a decent PR stategy, for example.
  • You have put excessive pressure on EVERYONE at the club when we are in a relegation scrap and need to be pulling together - again, it's not worked so try summat new.
  • By putting excessive pressure on an injury-ravaged and youthful team you're contributing to the downfall of the club rather than helping to save it - harsh but true in my opinion. You're efforts just aren't helping BRFCS cos Venky's wont listen.

So I'm sorry but your current tact (which I disagree with but can respect) just hasn't done the trick.

I'm not trying to answer for glenmullan here and I'm sure he can answer for himself anyway, but the way I see it from my own point of view is this

[*]You have made contact with the club and the media to say the same thing over and over again, but absolutely nothing has changed. I won't disagree that little has changed in terms of action being taken, but simply this stresses to me why the same things need to be repeated, when we see action and some answers maybe we'll stop asking the same questions.

[*]It's ludicrous that we are complaining about a lack of communication when you have had shed loads of communication with the club.

Plenty of communication to a degree, just not with the right people who can do something about it and no clear answers from the ones that have been spoken to, communication only works if we're actually being listened to, not fed a few pre empted responses.

[*]You have wasted god knows how many hours of the staff's time.

The whole protest has been built on trying to do what's best for Blackburn Rovers, so any time trying to achieve that is not wasted, and anyway if they had the correct structures in place and professionals to do the job things may have got sorted so much sooner.

[*]You have put excessive pressure on EVERYONE at the club when we are in a relegation scrap and need to be pulling together.

The pressure was put on long before we were right in the relegation scrap and when we hoped they'd act before it was too late, and again this is something that has to work both ways, what have the club in terms of owners and the manager done to try and pull everyone together?

[*]By putting excessive pressure on an injury-ravaged and youthful team you're contributing to the downfall of the club rather than helping to save it.

The protest has never been aimed at the players and they know that, they're under pressure to win games to keep us in the league that's for sure but that would be the same with or without the protest, I honestly don't think the protests have had an overwhelming effect on the team.

With that being said I do think that for the next couple of home games that there shouldn't be any organised protesting on match days. Points are so vital now that we need wins, Kean's going nowhere and needs all the help he can get as he's bloody useless so for the good of the club maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to go for a truce. Any protests that do happen will then simply come from fans own reactions to what's happening on the field.

Nail on the head here. I've got no problems at all with spontaneous protests if we go 2-0 down for example. I just think that it’s sensible to start by focusing our efforts on backing the team rather than berating the owners and the manager. Give them a taste of what Fortress Ewood used to sound and feel like and just see if it helps.

Every player bangs on about the 12th man so there must be something to it...

There seems to be this strange idea that someone is actually controlling the booing.

Weird.

I agree that nobody can totally control the crowd reaction - but a rallying call from Glen may help unify the fans somewhat - its then up to the players to deliver. For me - it is all about the positive publicity that the protests can gain - as well as removing any excuses that Kean could come up with. We desperately need 4 to 6 points - and then hopefully Liverpool and United will ensure Venkys finally see sense. Lose either of the next two matches and it will be almost impossible to escape relegation.

This whole thing has become so tedious. The MB is filled with thread after thread discussing the same topic, with the same views etc.etc.

I'm no longer interested in any organised protests, petitions etc. I would be very interested in dialogue, face to face, with the club but that isn't going to happen.

When I want to protest, I'll either join in with the crowd during a game or I'll stand up to throw a few choice waords in the direction of the dugout. The rest of it is just turning into so much nonsense.
