Serious question ... Are you an oz dingle ?

Think you'd be surprised by the number of people who think the protesting has gone far enough as it isn't achieving anyhting now.

It's not gone far enough Paul, everyone's letting a lucky Swansea win mask what's happening! These scumbags between them are killing our club and if fighting for our team and wanting rid of these idiots is wrong then I'm supporting the wrong team and to my departed dad and grandads I do apologise.

By the time new year comes we could be cut adrift and goosed. Kean is not fit to run our team and the chicken dippers are not fit to even have a desk in uncle jacks kingdom .

If these Pillocks are still here overseeing our demise how many tickets will we sell next year.

I ask one simple question to people not willing to protest.. When we we go down and possibly bust , can you people hold your head up high and say I did everything I could to save what we love?

A two-match truce is unlikely to help the team play better and even in the unlikely event we win both matches is unlikely to prevent us getting relegated or help fix the cause of the problems - the departure of the manager and owners.

The protests so far have been too mild and half-hearted. These are desperate times, it needs a full-blown insurrection.

So we should just give up and wait for Kean to take us down? Because it really is that simple - Kean staying = relegation. The Swansea win was the worst thing to happen to Rovers in years, simply because it guaranteed Kean more time to inflict further damage to our chances of remaining in the Prem. In years to come we'll be able to look back in pained irony at the marvellous 4-goal haul from the Yak that sealed our fate.

Very sensible idea Tom.

All Glen, Simon and co. have to do now is publicly call off the protests by issueing a statement going along the lines of, the club have made it quite clear to them that Steve Keans position as manger of Blackburn Rovers is safe and secure and that no matter how many protests this will not change the owners of Blackburn Rovers football club support towards Steve Kean. Throw in a few extra lines in about the Venky committment to the Walker trust............then sit back and watch what happens next. :rover:

Instead of going to the bother of writing anything, why not just email them a picture of yourself in a Rovers shirt Glen, bending over?

Glen, that's all fantastic, but what positive effect has any of this actually had on the club and the team?

I genuinely want to know. All you've listed is the numerous ways you have found contact with the club or the media to say the same thing over and over again, but absolutely nothing has changed.

In essence all you have done is wasted god knows how many hours of the staff's time, time they could've been spending on more important matters, just to say the same thing over and over again. You have also put on excessive pressure on EVERYONE at the club when we are in a relegation scrap and need to be pulling together.

It's actually ludicrous that we are complaining about lack of communication when you have clearly demonstrated that the time and communication that the club has offered is actually way more than should ever be expected of any club or business.

The only reason the protests have continued is because the protesters no longer want to concede defeat to Kean, and they have bought into the completely false idea that the owners don't care about the club and want to destroy it from within.

I actually find it really ridiculous that one of the main premises of the protests was to at least be seen doing something in case things went under (as quoted by numerous people on here), but what is actually happening is you're contributing to the downfall of the club (by which I mean relegation) rather than saving it, by putting on excessive pressure on an injury-ravaged and youthful team. People aren't even bothering with excuses for that anymore, they're just saying " (Please don't use that word again) the team, they should deal with it".

I won't even give this a plausable answer as this is the most pathetic thing I have read on these boards since I joined BRFCS

Serious question ... Are you an oz dingle ?

I would ignore him, if you take a look at his history you will find he's visited Ewood once. Although I might get minused for that, I don't care. I can't take someone criticizing the atmosphere at Ewood seriously who has only been once in his life. It's like me talking about the Barca atmosphere this season (I've only been once, a few years ago).

Different people, different views. Yes I have heard that view but I have also heard from many more you now want to demonstrate for the first time who did not demonstrate before. It is neither black nor white.

As for me I have just about got past the stage of being bothered; I feel completely ground down that the chance of me ever paying to go on Ewood again whilst the muppets and their puppets are in charge are almost 0%.

There seems to be this strange idea that someone is actually controlling the booing.

Weird.

There seems to be this strange idea that these protests are affecting the players. People treat the players like they are children, and their feelings are hurt by protests. If they don't have the character to ignore what the fans are doing then they are softer than I thought.

At the Swansea game, the divide between Protesters, and reluctant protesters was pretty obvious to me. The standing section of the BB End were singing Kean out and people around me (20 or so seats from the standing section) were shouting at them to shut up. Really difficult situation at Ewood isn't it? Like Tom M and Matty say, spontaneous protests are of course the most effective!

My reason for easing up on protests wouldn't be anything to do with the players, as I don't believe they have been detrimental at all. It would be to prevent the protests being scoffed at in the media. While the protests recieve bad press, it only works in Kean & Venkys favour. Difficult situation.... I'm all for the protests to have Kean, and more importantly Venkys removed, but the media are so important to how effective they are, and I fear that a win against West Brom followed by a protest would have the media backing Kean again.

There again, if there are no protests, no doubt that would be picked up on, and Kean could say 'I think the fans are beginning to come round and see what we are trying to acheive'

What a tricky situation!

I’d like to suggest that protestors agree to a truce for the Bolton and West Brom games. Two late strikes and a disallowed goal have left us right up the creek. If we don’t get the results we need in the next two home games then it’s pretty much goodbye Premiership because Anfield followed by Old Trafford will leave us rock bottom come January.

So can we put Kean and Venky’s to one side and think only about the blue & white halves and Premiership survival? Surely these games are too crucial to not give the team 100% over the 90 minutes. Booing goals and, as much as I want to, chanting against Kean and Venky’s will not help the team, will it? It’ll just create a tense atmosphere and that will only help the away team.

Can we give it a go? And if after these two games we are screwed, THEN we unleash hell!

Thoughts? It’s gotta be worth a try...

Actually the reason there are protests in the first place is because the team was abysmal.. they are not the cause as has been hinted at but the result of rubbish play and awful management.

Our best performances have humerously been on days when there have been protests.

No matter what happens there will always be a section of the crowd protesting due to how bad we have been for the last year.. a message on here is not going to stop that, if anything it may encourage yet more people to sit on their hands even when they want the same thing.

If anything one of the biggest issues with not seeing any action from Venkys IMO has been down to a large number of people not joining in the protests even though they also want Kean out, unlike some other teams I can name our fans can be a little bit laid back when action is required. If every fan who wanted Kean out sat in their seats for 10mins after the game then Venkys would finally realise the game is up for Kean. I am not having a go at those who do not want to protest or those of the opinion that Kean needs more time, just saying that given the vast majority of fans want him out why is it left to so few, no one will get the point accross unless those of the same opinion are united in any form of action.

Was basically offering a way forward in that the young kids could put in their own choice of words that would linger long after consumption, echoing in fellow supporters heads, thus, they would'nt be seen as being responsible leaving other fans to choose their own style on how to react to this mob.

At the moment Glen and the rest are easy stand out targets, for the club, and fellow supporters who just dont get it with this regime.

You hit the nail on the head with reluctant protesters.. but maybe you should look at it the other way round and everyone of the opinion he needs to go should stand together.

One of the key reasons the media has knocked us is down to only sections of fans protesting, every press report reads marginal group, sections of the crowd, minority... etc etc... that isn't helping and giving Venkys a false impression.

Getting more people to protest is the only way forward.. there will always be protests while things are like they are.. getting a few hundred people to stop protesting will not stop the rest but make the whole situation worse.

And anyway the protests have effected the players in a positive way IMO, almost making them want to prove they can do it on the pitch, but conflict between the fans when there have been no mass protests is likely to have had the opposite effect and actually hamper performances.

Sadly I think the protests have been less effective and support has been fractured due to the press coverage - people read what the want to and believe the same. So one story says x and another y - then count the number of people that supplement their knowledge by reading the messageboards, or social media, or papers and so on

Think about it, there are people in the club that care, these are the ones that are trying to put out information, but when it's wrong, or unclear, it only aggravates the situation.

Personally I believe something should have been, and continue to be done to put the fans point across but it does appear as if the owners aren't listening, and if they do listen and what's been said re: Mrs D is true then one moment can swing opinion back the other way and how can you combat that?

Unfortunately what you have here in effect is 1) Venkys have run and hidden, who knows what their next move will be, Kean might have been on the brink (may still be) or that too might just be BS and 2) Kean is trying, I don't think he's going out of his way to be useless, but he's just not good enough, who knows if he will be with time? and then 3) the fans are currently on the slow process through the grief cycle, some are further ahead than others and this is coming out here.

kubler_ross.gif

This has been posted before, but I think if you consider it a while you can see where you fit in!

If a moment of individual joy (the Yak-Five) is enough to buy Kean more time (personally think that is just BS) then what will a statement from the protesters to the effect of "We're stopping protesting to help the team" going to be spun into?

More and more I'm finding I get to typing stuff here and just run out of enthusiasm - it's a sad thing to admit but I feel like the management and the owners have totally ruined the club for me, they could dump Kean and put any manager in, give them a bottomless pit of cash for players, all the rest of it, and I'd still have a slightly bad feeling about the club.

Not how I ever expected my football supporting experience to be - couldn't give a hoot about coming to Ewood now and that tears me up but I simply will not give money to them whilst this shambles is still ongoing.

Agree or disagree with the protests, you cannot fault the guys organising it as they are still there standing up for the club when I'm sure many of us would have had enough a long time ago.

I agree that nobody can totally control the crowd reaction - but a rallying call from Glen may help unify the fans somewhat

For the past goodness knows how many months, the views of the fans who were against people protesting against Kean argued that they were in an internet minority. Were you one of these DMPT - I can't remember?

Now, those same people are arguing that Glen can influence 16000 fans. Do me a favour. Do you really believe that Glen can do anything about me or any other fans who will be at Ewood on Saturday giving this despicable man some grief - if he stitches the team up again?

Get real DMTP, what will happen will happen. There's no-one in control here. If Glen had the influence that you are now charging him with, there would have been thousands marching down to Ewood, rather than the few hundred.

It's not glen. And I don't think it's a personal attack either, so rather than coming back with a dismissive one liner give it some real thought it for an hour or two. Step well back, forget about all the effort you’ve put in and try to answer the question: “what positive effect has any of this actually had on the club and the team?”. I genuinely want to know your thoughts.

I started this topic because I (and plenty others) believe we all need to TRY pulling together for the next two games in order to give ourselves a fighting chance of survival.

I know it's not easy but the best thing you can do is ignore Kean and Venky’s and sing your heart out for the lads. Rovers are bigger than some chicken farmers and a babbling joch.

Also, seriously, which manager could come in and save us if we lose the next four? And who the hell would want to come to us anyway?? We have clueless owners and no executive team, meaning the manager has to carry out executive duties too. Hardly appealing is it. I'd say it's one of the worst jobs in football right now. No decent manager in their right mind would agree to the loopy set up we currently have.

And lastly I’d like to highlight and back the following points made by Miker:

  • You have made contact with the club and the media to say the same thing over and over again, but absolutely nothing has changed - it's not worked so try summat new.
  • It's ludicrous that we are complaining about a lack of communication when you have had shed loads of communication with the club - speaks for itself.
  • You have wasted god knows how many hours of the staff's time - sorry but it's true, and it's time that could have been spent developing a decent PR stategy, for example.
  • You have put excessive pressure on EVERYONE at the club when we are in a relegation scrap and need to be pulling together - again, it's not worked so try summat new.
  • By putting excessive pressure on an injury-ravaged and youthful team you're contributing to the downfall of the club rather than helping to save it - harsh but true in my opinion. You're efforts just aren't helping BRFCS cos Venky's wont listen.

So I'm sorry but your current tact (which I disagree with but can respect) just hasn't done the trick.

  • You have made contact with the club and the media to say the same thing over and over again, but absolutely nothing has changed - There is many variables why to date things have not worked, at any other club without a doubt the Manager would of been dismissed with the record Steve Kean has, However Rovers is no longer run like any other club, Only one person is keeping Kean in a job, so from that the protest have certainly worked. He is far closer to the door now, and when was the last time you saw or heard words of support from the owners??
  • It's ludicrous that we are complaining about a lack of communication when you have had shed loads of communication with the club - Before protest started we had no communication, no replies to emails, letters, calls, everything was Zilch. Initial communication was on Health & Safety grounds, were we also took the opportunity to put across reasons for protest and put questions to the club which were deemed serious enough for the club to agree that we needed to be speaking to higher level employee's, Had we not been protesting this woulod not have happened. In addition over the last few weeks, club statements, interviews LET (Paul Hunt) has been done on our recommendation.
  • You have put excessive pressure on EVERYONE at the club when we are in a relegation scrap and need to be pulling together - If sitting back letting what will be, will be is your style fair enough. Its certainly not mine. Our club has been on the decline for 12 months, Protest were done as a last resort. Results were terrible long before protest, whilst no communcation and no answers to supporters concerns were forthcoming, this is despite a number of supporters going to Pune and bringing back no answers which have been followed through
  • By putting excessive pressure on an injury-ravaged and youthful team you're contributing to the downfall of the club rather than helping to save it - The pressure has been put on the club, to ensure we have a club and that its managed from top to bottom in an open and honest way. The supporters are not the issue and never have been. I only deal in facts, and the facts are we are in the position we are in because of the Manager, Venkys and lack of leadership within the board.

To add to this thread, at what point on BRFCS have you seen reports of an organised protest for this weekend? As I have already stated in one of my previous post, discussions are on going with the club and there is a chain of command which you need to get through to get to the right person to air these grievances.

I have already stated what results we have had to date and when we have the meeting with the board of directors, which will include a number of supporters and Key non BRFC Figures then all these issue's which I asked supporters to put down in another thread will be discussed, minuted and answered. The recommendations which supporters have also proposed will also be put to the Board of directors. (At this point someone will no doubt say, "Its Venkys we need to be talking to") This is quite correct but you don't get to speak to Venkys until you speak to the board, I maintain the progress has been good and had we not been protesting we would be still sat here scratching our heads, because I don't exactly see anyone else in there getting us our answers, Do you??

By bringing the club sponsor on board and the council with have also brought in outside influences with stature within the community to help fight the supporters cause.

There is many things I can't put on the boards as I do not have the authorisation to do so, as talks and negotiations must remain between the people having those talks until things are set in stone, but I what I will say, is i'm very hopeful that following the conclusion on protest that we will be in a much better position as a club than we was before we started, (Bar League position)

"I agree that nobody can totally control the crowd reaction - but a rallying call from Glen may help unify the fans somewhat - its then up to the players to deliver. For me - it is all about the positive publicity that the protests can gain - as well as removing any excuses that Kean could come up with. We desperately need 4 to 6 points - and then hopefully Liverpool and United will ensure Venkys finally see sense. Lose either of the next two matches and it will be almost impossible to escape relegation. "

Its up to the players to deliver - they don't, of course it will degenerate.

The important bit is "unify the fans" - personally I don't know how many fans are pro-protest - though would guess that 95% or more are anti-Kean - but if you unify the fans surely that equates to 16k ?

You seem to ignore the publicity angle - and how it removes a Kean excuse. If we lose the headlines could be "despite official protests being called off - the crowd turned on Kean as the team slumped to yet another defeat" - alternative post match quote from Kean "despite 500 entries into their box we amazingly lost - you have to start ask whether the protests are having an adverse impact on the players". If we win - yes he is in the job a bit longer - but we have a vital 3 points. Believe me Anfield and Old Trafford should provide enough reasons to get rid of him.

IMO the Arsenal win was far more detrimental. Not only did we get 3 undeserved points (which made our overall total somehow look better than it should have been) but Kean went on a media tour proclaiming how amazing we were and how the 1% could do one.

When we're down at the end of the season and staring at oblivion, I think the Arsenal game will be the game we look back on and think... that was where we passed the point of no return.

Wayne Wild is quoted as saying the some supporters have made errors. What on earth does that mean?

If Ian Battersby met with her in October for three hours and nothing has happened since (well not positive anyway) why does he think she will change now. If he is concerned enough to go public he should let everybody know what was said in his meeting with her.

The cynic in me tells me that they have got plenty of free publicity for their respective businesses out of this though.

I read all of your post DMTP.

Look, there are no protests organised for the next two games - as far as I'm aware. There have never been protests, or booing aimed at the team. So what do you want Glen to do, - tell 16000 fans not to boo Kean if things are going badly?

You mention "take away Keans excuses" "Publicity angles" "Headlines".

It's rubbish.

A very good article but again it will run into the brick wall of the Venkys business mentality. They will simply not accept being told that they are making a mess of running Rovers. It will just not happen.

All Venkys need do is look at the league table. If their "business mentality" prevents them from comprehending the mess they have made of things, then Venkys are morons.

I'm surprised their competitors aren't circling like sharks smelling blood in the water. In the footballing world, were the boys with serious money play, Venkys have not exactly demonstrated either business acumen or that they have the wealth necessary to succeed. All Venkys have done is mouth meaningless platitudes, which does nothing to win football matches.
