2,000 Rovers' supporters turn up for a Chorley home game?????

Yes, please!!!!!!!!!

That would go a long way to solving the financial crisis at Chorley FC, as well as provide the visiting supporters with a great afternoon of football.

A couple of points to note;

If you wanted to make a cash donation to Chorley FC you could visit the club's official website, click on the 'Donate to Chorley FC' link and you will be able to donate to our direct Paypal account. Visit www.chorleyfc.com

If you are not travelling to Anfield on Boxing Day, you would be more than welcome at Victory Park for our home game against Kendal Town, 3.00pm kick off. The special £5.00 admission price for Rovers' season ticket holders will, once again, be in place.

If Rovers fans wanted to make a massive 'show of strength' at a Chorley home game, the best opportunity would be on Saturday,7th January when Chorley play North Ferriby United in a league game.

The later game, possibly against FC United, is a cup game with the money shared three ways - between the two clubs and the league, so less money in the Chorley FC coffers.

I'm sure a big turn out of Rovers supporters with shirts, scarves and banners would get national press coverage, particularly from radio pundit, Robbie Savage. More importantly, it would demonstrate to the nation what is most important in football - enjoying an exciting match between lads who play for the love of the game and not fortunes, having a laugh with your mates and banter with rival supporters, swapping ends at half time, a cup of tea or coffee for £1.00, and STILL change from a tenner for all you Rovers season ticketholders!!

Chorley FC and no doubt the local pubs in Chorley would, I am sure, make you all most welcome!!

We are already on the case and have made contact with Flitcroft, We have set up a paypal account because we want to keep check on what Rovers supporters donate to the cause, if we go direct to the Chorley one, then we wont have any idea, We have got the facebook protest group on the case and of course will be trying to promote this.

One of the organisers is looking at putting together coaches from Blackburn ETC, and the 7th is the aim, If you could speak with your contact at Chorley and get him to contact me or Mark1875 direct that would be great, Flitcroft is aware this is happening but I have not spoke to him personally

Thanks for that information, Glen, and a BIG thanks to Mark for setting up the Paypal.

I think I should add that the majority at Chorley FC wish Blackburn Rovers well this season, and hope that you will still be a Premier League club this time next year.

Get behind those eleven players who wear the shirt, they are the ones who will determine your club's future. They need to be encouraged and inspired to give their all for the most important people involved in any football club, the supporters, without whom there would be no club.

Fully agree and I do indeed own it. I will also, when the money is sent on to Chorley F.C send with it a print out of all the transactions through the account.

I wasn't doubting you buddy don't think that it's just people like to be sure.

No, this is wrong. I don't know what is going on behind the scenes these days but I've had enough of these organised protests. It's time to stop, and as for this one? It's downright, bloody stupid.

It hasn't yet proved possible to get a thousand people to march in Blackburn on a match day. Now it's expected to get 2000 to pay £10 each for the privilege of visiting Chorley? I think people need to be realistic. IF 2000 are prepared to support this cause I'd suggest their first stop should be Ewood Park on a match day and not Victory Park. Aside from the parking issues! ;)

Facebook, Paypal, Twitter, jeez....................

I like Chorley FC, I pop down there from time to time, nothing against them but this smacks of self-promotion by some.

I've read a lot about dialogue with the club etc.etc. and this is what is now needed but to date there's been precious little information from those talking to the club back to the support. I thought "communication" was an issue?

Hi Paul , firstly this is not Simon or My initiative, it has been set up by a gentleman called Gary Jones, who runs the Blackburn Rovers supporters group on Facebook which has over 6000 Members. He emailed me yesterday of what my thoughts were regarding helping Chorley and the position they was in, I thought it was good idea and posted his email on here and on FB groups which I'm a member of. The majority on those groups also liked the idea. From there people said although they could not attend they would like to contribute and Mark set up a paypal account for them to do so.

Gary is pretty much organising this, as I'm very busy with Rovers issue's but had rovers got no issue's I'd still contribute as its a worthy cause..

On the communication side, as I have already said its been more a case of negotiating to get a platform so a number of supporters can put across concerns. I don't represent anyone's views or opinions and therefore have not put supporters concerns across in person on their behalf, I have discussed there is issue's and that these need to be aired to the correct people, and by a group of supporters and not just Simon and I. This is the position we are at now, were that meeting will become a reality before Christmas.

So we have nothing to report back bar that we are in talks/negotiations, the only things we have been able to report back is what we can do in the form of protest to keep them legal, and what restrictions have been imposed RE Banner ban.

I wasn't specifically thinking of you Glen, just everything that is being organised in various forms. It has become somewhat disjointed.

The protest in the ground is the one we need.

A few years ago Hannover put up the ticket prices of the cheapest matchday tickets to above €10! The fans protested and about 5000 went to watch the small team that I play for! I don't know how effective the protest was (cheapest tickets cost about €15 a game now), but it got a lot of coverage in the media and my as then almost bankrupt team made a lot of money from it. Win win.

Hello Im from Chorley district and also a Blackburn fan. As Im sure you know chorley and the surrounding area as quite a large fan base of BRFC fans and I would hope they would turn up on the 7th. (first post hence the introduction} I think its a great idea well I would wouldn't I. I naively stopped going during the Big Sam era as I said i wasnt paying to watch that rubbish. How wrong I was. I then started watching chorley and have watched there progression over the last few years.

Through no fault of their own they are now experiencing extinction. You could argue tighter reigns could have been in place to stop this happening but if someone allegedly wants to engage in the activity they are accused of, its difficult to stop. I have noted a few dissenting voices as is everyones right. However I know people are working very hard behind the scenes to get this to happen on both sides, including radio Lancashire covering it and im sure it will be noted on 606 by someome and elsewhere.

I have e-mailed several fans of other clubs and they think its a great Idea and are very impressed with this gesture. The negative press that the protests have generated in some quarters of the press will surely be dispelled.

One of the concerns expressed is that there are other local teams who could do with a cash injection, and I couldnt agree more. So Im sure a rotation system of visiting each local side in turn when it fits into the calendar can be arranged.

I also understand that finances are tight and especially just after xmas. So can i remind you if you are a season ticket holder on production of it you can enter for £5 and kids for £1 and it really is decent football on offer, sure you would return. If you bring 2 kids thats £7 and they can run around to there hearts content. Im sure the other local clubs will offer this service.

So finally can I thank all involved in trying to get this unique event to happen
