If there is one man who could save us from this mess it's Sparky and i for one would have him back in a shot.

Time to go Keano, time to go, time to go Keano, time to go, time to go Keano, time to go, oh Keano time to go!!!!!!!!

Get Hughes, Bowen & Co back by tomorrow get the squad doing bleep tests, prove they were well unfit. Deal with that issue using the 2 away fixtures then give Hughes some cash to spend and Im sure he will already have some people in mind from his scouts during his time with Fulham. Get them in and go for broke. Get the players believing in themselves again and playing like the good old Hughes days where we were tough and played decent footy. If all that happens I'd quite confidently have a bet with whoever for x amount on Rovers staying up.

And then I woke up!!!!

I just can't let myself get my hope up about this one. Couldn't stand yet another let down. This being the panto season I so, so hope that Hughesy might make a fairytale return but let's not forget he freely walked away from Al Fayed's eccentricities, so I just can’t see someone as shrewd as him signing up to join Dame Anuradha, the Chuckle brothers and Ebenezer (well I’ve never seen her hubby smile have you?) in the farcical panto that BRFC has become. Would Hughsey and Bowen take the magic carpet to Pune every month – not on their nellies.

Would love Hughes back but we need him on a long term deal. Even Hughes is gonna find it difficult to keep us up this season. But he would certainly get us promoted at the first attempt and make us flourish in the prem once promoted.

A short term deal would be ok but where would that leave us at the end of the season when we inevitably get relegated? Let him build something special again. Give him a 5 year contract. Relegation would be easier to take with Hughes in charge cos we know that we'd be back.

Could yesterday be the day that Venkys finally wake up to what we have know for months. You HAVE to invest money into a football team, you have to employ the best people. I'm as gutted as anyone that we are bottom but we all knew this one going to happen months ago. The only people that couldn't see it were Venkys.

Maybe the fact that they want Hughes back suggests they are starting to wake up?

He got it slightly wrong, from what I am told representatives of the owners are talking to a finance institution in Dubai about getting a new finance agreement, which would allow them to dump Barclays, or have a fall back option after they have provided Barclays with the £10 million that they have demanded by 31st December.

Can't they just get a payday loan from Wonga. I am sure Karl Oyston could get them a good deal.

If Kean is fired today and we get Hughes in that would be a very welcome xmas-present. Still....don't know if I believe it and Kean is still the manager.

Don't think Hughes would keep us up, but he would give the viewing audience some sense of getting our team back - of that I'm certain. He would make sure we go down fighting and that people paying good money to watch this team get what they paid for. Still think we played our best football in the post-Jack era while he was here and that he is best suited to a club of our size. I actually believe we could get a point or two in our next two games with Hughes in charge.

Please please let the rumours be true for once! And Venkys: you seriously need to act NOW!

Exactly. If we are to go down, lets go down fighting. Lets get back to the days when teams were pleased to take a point from Ewood. Hughesy would do this and bring us back up if we get relegated.

I'd happily take relegation with Hughes as manager. Give him the parachute payments and let him rebuild the club, whether he would want to do that is another story. But saying that, we could possibly stay up if they brought him in soon enough. I'd love nothing more than for him to come and us stay up but if we have to drop a league to rebuild from the bottom then so be it. But I would only be happy with that with Hughes in charge

This is a terrible terrible idea. Going to Peter to pay Paul.

If this is happening can we ask Jack Straw to investigate? More debt on the club and we will head further down the Leeds/Portsmouth route... Any money that comes in needs to be gifted not loaned. Much better to be certain to go down with manageable debts, than have a marginally increased chance of staying up but an unsustainable debt burden
