Stuart Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Venky's named "Flop of the year" at Skysports.com: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11096/7377812/Flop-of-the-year And whilst we talk about owners, this is the first time a club's owners are labelled as one of the flops of the year - but we had to mention Blackburn's new chiefs - Venky's, the Indian-based poultry group. Since taking charge just over 12-months ago, with the promise of UEFA Champions League football and big names, Blackburn are now one of the favourites for relegation. They sacked Sam Allardyce, appointed Steve Kean - who despite his terrible run of form has been handed a new contract. Venky's have flopped massively! All too happy to make jokes. Oh, for some serious journalists to work on Sky Sports... Just imagine if they had to go out and, you know, actually do some research and actual reporting on real stories, instead of just waiting for a player to say the wrong thing or for a manager to get potted, for their next BREAKING NEWS. How about actually breaking some news?? May as well be called "Premier League TV".

rovers11 Posted December 23, 2011 Author Posted December 23, 2011 Just contacted the Pune Mirror and Times of India about taking out a full page advert. Think the times has come. I'm willing to pay a fair chunk of what it costs. Anyone else willing to contribute?
promoted2001 Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 I've emailed times of india too earlier. I'd contribute but needs to be done right.

Lurid Coat Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Just contacted the Pune Mirror and Times of India about taking out a full page advert. Think the times has come. Put me down for 20 quid if they give the green light for such an advert.

rovers11 Posted December 23, 2011 Author Posted December 23, 2011 I will put £20 in as well. Do you have an idea of what you are going to put in..? OK, thanks will do. The general theme would be how Venky's have mismanaged rovers since their takeover, broken promises, shocking communication and how they are embarrassing the Indian people. The final line would be 'Venky's: show us your money or sell up'. Anyone want to volunteer to draw up an advert containing these points?
lowerdarwenblue Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 This is a copy of the message i left on The Times Of India comments page after the Bolton match. Plenty of other fans have done the same. I know it's not much, but its one way of highlighting to the Indian public how inept Venkys are : ''The proud people of India deserve to know the truth about what Venkys are doing to Blackburn Rovers. They are a complete and utter disgrace and are bringing great shame to your nation. The inept manner in which they are running the club is nothing short of criminal. When Venkys took over, Rovers were one of the most respected and well run clubs in England. In 12 short months they have turned us into a laughing stock. The only sad thing is the fans of Blackburn do not find it funny one little bit. They are upset and angry at Venkys and their persistant backing of the worst manager in English Premier League history (fact !!) in Steve Kean (for the Indian fans information, he is a proven liar in an English Court of Law) They are upset and angry at the way they have dismantled the whole structure of the club from the very top (Chairman John Williams) to the original manager (Sam Allardyce). Rovers are looking into the abyss. Once relegated, which they are certain to be if Kean is not sacked, then there will be no way back. If Venkys then asset strip the club, which many in England believe was their sole intention at the time of purchase, then their Venkys brand would be damaged beyond repair. Venkys have one tiny chance to change this and that is to sack Kean immediately and put in place a respected football manager (such as Mark Hughes), give him the necessary financial backing, and leave him to get on with his job. They must also put in place a board of directors with a sound football knowledge instead of the few amateurs they currently employ (Paul Hunt etc). We, in England, are asking our Indian fellow supporters to join us in pressurising Venkys to act and act now. If they won't, then please, to sell the club to someone who actually wants to run the club properly.''
