i see your point but they cause havoc and we often score from that phase of play. Like today, not sure if he gets an assist for hanleys goal or not but it was from his corner that we scored

I'm more concerned with what he does for 90mins rather than whether he'll hit the odd free-kick. We can't afford passengers in midfield.

Thank god i'm not the only one who thought Pedersen was awful. I didn't want to mention it to put a downer on the result but that chap is well passed his sell by date.

I think Petrovic gets a lot of stick because he's unattractive/uncomfortable to watch on the ball BUT i thought he was solid today. Big credit to him.

Petrovic is still a bit slow in the tackle and to response to loose balls but with the ball at his feet he looked good. Nzonzi and him are extremely similar players. Not that mobile, like to keep it simple, technically good. He also has the same thing like Nzonzi where he can stretch his legs and carry the ball forward from midfield. Not sure how good a partnership they will make as you probably need someone in there who is going to close the opposition down which neither of them are particularly keen on, preferring to stand off.

Still, great improvement today. Easily his best game in a rovers shirt. Suddenly we look like we have a competitive central midfield with Nzonzi, Petrovic, Dunn, Lowe all playing well recently.

Great Win today. wasn't expect a win maybe a draw!!!

we defended with spirit and fight and put bodies on the line.

Thought the back four was excellent.

Yak does what the does best score!!!!

Match of the match for me was Yakubu and Hanley today!!!

Also at least I can give the stick out tonight to my Man U friends instead of them give me stick for once!!!!

Going to be a GREAT NEW YEAR'S PARTY TONIGHT!!!

COME ON YOU BLUES!!!

Key thing for me in your post is "Like to keep things simple. This is something that has cost us so many goals e.g. Pedersen fannying around and losing the ball, Dunny with loose passes etc... Nzonzi and Petrovic are both tidy players which leaves the creativity to our wide players, Olsson, Hoillet, Rochina... If they stay.

I thought a lot of our young playerd did amazing today, even goodwillie & slew created chances in the short time they were on, goodwillie's pass to petrovic when slew down the wing looked the easiest option was brilliant, and slews battling to win the ball against jones and lay it off for goodwillie was decent.

Impressed with the team today we were far the weaker team on paper, united on an off day doesnt cut it for me, the main problem they really had was having carrick in defence and yakubu gave him a torrid time, and when they swapped for jones to mark yakubu jones didnt step up and honestly looked out of his depth, Jones is obviously not ready yet to lead a defence himself he needs a samba or a ferdinand along side him.

Well I think the word for today is ‘stunned’ even with a very good side from 92/96 we couldn’t get anything from old stratford.

I didn’t watch the game, heard a bit on the radio but all credit to the players, Yakubu has been an inspired signing and all credit to Kean, he’s been under immense pressure of late and he’s somehow managed to get 4 points from united and Liverpool, truly remarkable.

I bet the party in Pune is still going strong!

KEAN OUT

AGNEW OUT

VENKYS OUT

Looks like this team will not go down without a fight, been impressed with the spirit Bunn has brought to the team, younger defeeders have really seemed to rally around him and he looks like he is enjoying it...also had some fine saves today...Formica put a shift in and some of his link up play with the Yak was good...thought we were much improved with Dunn out, hope it stays that way...I would now try and see if Schalke would take a Hoilett for J Jones player swap, he is the type of midfielder we need in this relegation battle and I would rather see Hoilett sent overseas

Pedersen's been a liability for the last 10 games, we must have a midfielder within the club that can pass to a fellow team mate more regularly and help with defensive duties more than him, being kind he's pathetic

What is Mr Roberts on about on radio 5.

Couldn't play today due to contractual issues ?

Sorry if it has been mentioned elsewhere but I heard that comment before switching the radio off. Has Roberts elaborated on that point during 606? I'm sure he will be restricted in what he can say publically but a very interesting statement nonetheless.

EDIT - Sorry, just saw Bigbrandjohn's post above. Sounds like appearance-based contract extension would be due (same as Salgado and others?). Therefore sounds like he may have played his last game for us.

Don't you get it mate?? Dunn is a feckin liability and should never play for us again.....unless we're desperate ....He's not played well for years .

wasn't Roberts contract renegotiated last year? if so why would they include an extension after x amount of games clause if they had no intention of honouring it

Great win today, most things regarding the game itself have already been said, nothing new to add there.

Gotta say though that while opponents wasting time annoys me to no end, Bunn's goal kicks are the best thing I've seen since the Tugay Walkoffs (Inconspicuously being on the other side of the pitch, going out of his way to shake hands with everyone, clapping the fans etc. when subbed). Partly because I think in places like Anfield and OT, getting a breather helps us out a lot. But mainly because I love how it riles the opponents, perhaps because I know how I feel when opponents do the same thing :D
