Petrovic has definitely earnt a start in the next match though for me. I thought overall he did pretty well today, particularly as he hasn't had a sniff of a game for weeks if not months.

He seemed much improved, and his obvious joy on his face when he came over to the fans at the end of the game was great to see!

What a great afternoon! Well done lads!

Huge credit to the fans. They were definitely the 12th man and the players benefited from that.

Let's give them the same support on Monday, it will surely pay off.

Glenn has done a nice job on 606. maybe this is a turning point. Unglamorous wins in games against Stoke, Fulham, Everton are what will help heal some of the wounds.

What happened on the radio John, what did Glenn say?

Glenn was very supportive of the win and explained that there have been no official protests recently only spontaneous responses. The key point he made was that the fans are passionate about the club and love the players, all of them and it is issues like Jason's contract and other financial issues that have concerned the fans. He acknowledged that this uncertainty has made it difficult for Kean. hopefully we can kick on from now.

Most Rovers fans were positive and only one said that the real problem was the Walkers Trust who sold the club to the wrong owners.

Confidence is everything and if we can convert the next few games into results then hopefully we can get out of the cack.

Personally Kean deserves this result but it won't erase the real issues we have with the owners who must show their commitment financially right now as the window opens.

Far too much optimism on here after what is after all a freak result.

Reminds me of the euphoria in Burnley after they beat Man U at Turf Moor two seasons ago.

And look what happened to them ........

Nothing wrong with people savouring the result in a season of gloom.

But Kean seems to have bought some faith with two results. That's where I draw the line.

A fantastic result, yes.

But we should not let that obscure the fact that we are still deep in bother. I feel like a bloke who's found a fifty in the street as he watches his house burn down. Any other time I'd be pleased as punch.

Just wish I'd put a few bob on it.

I know exactly what you mean Jim but we have to enjoy. My lad and I sang all the way home from the pub. Especially loud as we passed next door's who is born and bred Darwen and supports Utd. Every time they are on Sky I have to listen through the wall to him celebrating. Tonight silence is golden.

We are still in deep, deep trouble with just the faintest glimmer of hope if we can win on monday.

As for the Raos and Kean? Nothing changes, no support till they prove themselves worthy

Rovers till I die

Soon change your tune don't you southerner. Friends with Adolf Hitler if he gave you a lollipop.

If you think one result will save our season you are sadly disillusioned.

Great win but the 3rd outof 19 matches. Well done kean.

Great result had a funny feeling this morning as i got up and made myself 50 quid on this game wish i put more on but bloody hell id have lost that 50 quid just to see us win!

Bunn - 7 Solid did well when called into action.

Lowe - 7 Has poor positional sense of Rb position but showed guts and fight today, got caught napping a few times but deserves a 7.

Samba - 7 Great blocks, a real focul point for us , utd struggled marking him all game.

Hanley - 8 Dominated the back four with several last ditch blocks and tackles not to mention great header for the goal was never going to take his eye of the ball, best game of his yet.

Henley 7 - He is Ashley Cole and Martin Olsson in one, I rate this guy up with P.Jones, said it at Sunderland, hes such a talent. Deserves to be 1st choice LB on this show.

Formica 7 - So frustrating at times, but a cracking hard worker but thats all he is but tracked back to help Lowe out an awful lot today.

Rochina - 5 Probably see him 10 mins out of 90 but you never know with him what your going to get, average.

MGP - 6 Wild clearence for 2nd goal but great corner for winning goal didnt stop working today.

Petrovic - 7 Effective nd efficent didnt see him lose the ball but he dosen't like passing forwards BUT when hes got the ball he never wastes it always makes himself availble too and plenty of short passes just to calm the tempo down.

N'Zonzi - 6 Overrated normally, but felt he did his job okay today tidied up in front of the back four and tried at times to put his foot on the ball.

YAKUBU - 9 My mom always ran the chanels when he could, his hold up play is second to none, cool penalty and a great determination for 2nd goal.

People are entitled to enjoy the victory Jim, most acknowledge it won't make a difference.

Happy New Year to you and yours by the way :tu:

We will soon find out if this is a one off result on Monday.

Have we had two back to back wins in the Kean era?

I am optimistic that we can get three points vs Stoke, Hanley and Samba can handle the aerial threat but we need Olsson back to provide pace as well perhaps Hoilett.

Also to keep the result in perspective United had won their last FIVE games scoring SEVENTEEN goals, when was the last time they lost at OT, Man City?

Trying to Pm Nicko re: Rooney situation.

Nothing to do with this, but well done Paul for having a go at The Guardian earlier today about our treatment of Kean. You did a good job there. Shame that Barry Glendenning had the edit button.
