For gods sake... I wish people would stop turning what was probably a fairly innocent comment into a loyalty competition!!

As so often happens on here, people love to judge and be hypocritical... He gave his all when he played for us; anyone one of you hypocrites would do the same things in your respective career!! Fans are so fickle yet they expect players to be loyal???? Come on..!

I think everybody can understand the logic of leaving for Utd.

What IS wrong, is how he declared himself a fan of this club. He isn't now, and has never been, a proper fan of BRFC.

Is Dunny not a fan then?

Did David Dunn sign Birmingham shirts before completing his move?

Did David Dunn ever express his opinions in what could be considered a degrogative tone towards Blackburn Rovers?

I'm a proper Rovers fan but can identify that the stadium is full of morons, the atmosphere is ######, the songs we sing are ######, the team is pisspoor, the manager is crap and we have (Please don't use that word again) all chance of winning anything... but I love the club and I don't follow BRFC because we are the best, they are my team.

Signing a shirt for a club you ARE joining is not crime of the century.

He's a better fan than most. He only wants us to get beat twice a season, when he plays against them. If only that could be said for some our 'fans'.

Take out the manager and you've described modern football for 99% of clubs.

Agreed, but it's downright disrespectful toward the selling club.

To then claim your a supporter of the selling club, makes it even more disrespectful.

As I've said though, such an act doesn't come close to the amounts of disrespect shown by the majority of our own fans in recent weeks.

Disrespect to who? Kean? Venky's? Even the players are mercenaries who will be off like a shot given the chance.

WE the fans, are the only constants, it's only us that suffers if we end up going down or even going bust.

you may disagree with the protests, but the only people being 'disrespected' is us.

Nevermind, if your only willing to understand your own view this is a pointless excersise.

If you are the only constant then who needs the team?

Just meet up on some park, take a football and relive the glory years.

'Lost the plot' for wanting to play for your hometown club, that Tom Finney ay? That Bryan Douglas, where was their ambition?

I must live in the wrong era.

Both have stated since that they wanted to move for more money but weren't allowed. Finney wanted to move to Genoa and earn £10000 pa, at the time he was on the max wage of £1250 p.a. at PNE but the then Chairman siad the board wouldn't allow him to leave and that was that.

Duggy too said that someone (Spurs poss?) had him lined up but a serious injury prevented his move.

Spurs tapping players up? Well I never. Was it not Roma?

To get back to the football. The second goal re inforced a theory I have about Jones. He's not good at dealing with players running directly at him. I remember the Yak doing him in just the same way at Ewood when the Yak was at Everton and Jones was playing for us.

Very few are Tyrone. Very difficult given the other players impetus and the current 'last man' stupidity....That sums up our Kean induced weaknesses in a nutshell.

Fair comment but the lad is supposed to a world beater. Remember Bobby Moore v Jairzinho in the 1970 World Cup ? An object lesson in how to tackle a fast moving player running at you. Having said that Moore was a world beater.

Dunn sold his soul to Venkys and Kean in the hope of a new contract, he ought to be ashamed the knackered "reality check" bloater.

I believe Roma tried to sign Dougie after England beat Italy over there in the early 1960's. I do remember Spurs bidding £120,000 for Dougie after he demolished them in the 7-2 win at Ewood. I had a paper round then and it was in all the papers.Don't know why it never happened. He got 10/10 in the papers after that game when reporters had a sense of realism and marks like that happened once a season. If he had have gone then it would have broken the British transfer record. Us old timers are lucky, Venkies can't take away the memories no matter what they do now.

What a game. Rovers 3-0 up very quickly only for Jimmy Greaves to score to make it 3-2 half-time. Rovers ran riot in the second half with Duggie and Andy McEvoy in brilliant form. Can still see it all in my mind's eye - one of the best Rovers displays I have witnessed.
