[Archived] Will We Be Stronger After Jan Window

Recommended Posts

Dreading the idiot being in charge for the transfer window. I bet coco wouldnt quit if some poor soul set themselves alight on the pitch. He'd say 'the fan was so excited by his new signings that they self combusted'.

I think nicko mentioned on Twitter we'd be due 7m compo if Hoilett leaves on a free. So no point selling him for anything less than that, or even for less than 10m.

I think some of the fringe players will be sold if we can get anything for them. Roberts, Salgado, Andrews, maybe even Dunn.

That would be a few million off the wage bill as well I imagine.

Their might be some Club mental enough to put a bid in for Chris Smalling too

On the other hand, can we be much worse? Frankly no.

Cahill has got permission to speak to, and will sign for Chelsea, and Arsenal wont pay the money we are after for Samba, so I doubt he will leave until summer. Hoilett, is either going in Jan or Summer so if we get a real big wad of cash up front, I see no point in selling now.

Maybe Im just overly optimisitic on this....

Samba will be chased by Spurs, QPR, Newcastle etc. all would be an improvement on us at the moment. Hoilett has a few suitors and we would get an arbitrary panel fee in summer, Salgado looks likely to leave and whilst he has lost any pace he had, his experience in training and round the squad is second to none and will be missed. Olsson's best mate is Junior, will he be a smacked arse if Jnr leaves? Robbo appears to have had enough of the deluded one, Givet may well be buggered.

I would personally carry Roberts, Dunn, Goodwillie, Ribeiro, Grella, Anderson to a ground of their choosing on my back

So I expect Coco to sign any other available Anderson offspring and then make some ridiculous loan signings on the last day of the transfer market.

In the real world these transactions would weaken us as a club, however I expect some ridiculous spin on how we have battled the demon financials and are right on track for the Champions league next season.

i think salgado will leave and i hope either robbo or samba goes aswell. Only reason for that is that i have a small hope they will speak up and critize the mess this club is in, tell everyone how bad kean is etc. i think robbo and samba are the only two players who have the balls to do this and those two will also make the biggest impact if they speak out.

there wont be any difference to the squad imo. unless they spend at least 7 mil each on 4 new lads.

i reckon we should be looking in france and italy for new players. the amount of success stories to the premier league from there has been very high. newcastle have done very well out of the french in the last 2 years.

Depends if Goe... sorry, Agnew manages to trick them into signing some sort of confidentiality clause on their way out.

Simple No.

Anyone who goes regularly knows we need a couple of Prem standard midfielders who can put their foot in early, get up and down the pitch and hold their position in front of the back four. We also need a wide player with pace (Hoilett will do it but I think he's on his way)and a verstile defender (or two) - We're after another limited forward in Johnson which says look- all the forwards I've bought/kept are no good Mrs Desia but I'll get it right this time. Is that your nice perfume I can smell?.

Who the hell would come with the current playing and business plan?

I actually wonder in my fuzzy moments if Salgado should have been made player manager. Apparently he is a big respected voice in the changing room and a good tactician. Then he's gone too! DoH!

Just how the hell can we be stronger if we lose ANY of our top players?...who is going to want to come to this Championship bound club with a tool of a manager and clueless owners

Worse case scenario will see Samba,Hoillet and Robinson sold down the river and replaced by inferior players, the final nail in our Premiership existense.

Agreed - can anyone name 2 better players of their type than the Sambaman and Hoillet? Then price them! (Robbo I'm not to sure about though).

Surprised there's no thread on Andy Johnson who looks likely to come to us. I'm seriously underwhelmed on that score. Apart from the fact that his best days are behind him, more importantly he has a history of injury and he could be Vince Grella Mark 2. Kean bought Goodwillie as a striker so if he does buy Johnson that's also admitting he made a serious error there. Scoring goals doesn't seem to be our main problem. We desperately need a holding midfielder who can actually tackle. Surely he must see that.

hoillet is certain to go in jan and i can bet samba wont be far behind him, rovers will want to cash in while theyre still a prem club as a championship club cant command as higher a fee, we will bring in a load of non-entity duds who will toe the line for captain spastic so no big names will be brought in in case they upset kean's apple cart and we rovers fans should just be grateful that our esteemed owners are spending 2 pennys worth.

Thats probably because there is no way he'll come up here.

nicko has just tweeted that there will be news about our transfer budget in tomorrows mirror. Doesnt sound like its good news. No surprise there.

I reckon 5 million for Kean to spend but he gets fired if 4 out of 6 points not achieved in the next two games- that's the kind of lunacy I expect from Venkys now.

I reckon hardly any budget and we'll be looking to spend it on wages for inferior loan players.

I also predict any money made from player sales will go to the bank as part of a plea deal made at 11:59 on Saturday following our defeat to United.
