A marquee signing is not the way to go, and it's hard to say how a 37 year old who has played his whole career abroad will be able to change our fortunes around. And would cost a fortune in wages I'd imagine. So I'm against the move.

However as someone in his mid 20s I'd still somehow be ridiculously excited to see him in a Rovers shirt, as at the end of the day it's Ale. Someone who I've admired as a player for as long as I can remember. There are a few players who I've grown up watching and idolized, such as him, Giggs and Maldini. Any one of them in a Rovers shirt would be awesome.

As an aside, Maldini is absolutely ridiculous. He made his Serie A debut before I was born. He retired when I was 23, having played that whole time at the very highest level. Astounding.
