bigbrandjohn Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 stoke gave us a lesson in defending then. Keans excuse will be samba's dissalowed goal actually it's a pretty good excuse. most players and managers would be doing cartwheels with rage. We seem resigned to having crp deciions go against us and Samba is way too polite . especially compared to some of the talentless Stoke sh1ts out there today.

EWOODACE1 Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 the lack of movement is frightening. nobody wants the ball and thats why we resort to the long ball. what we do on the training ground is beyond me. we are only dangerous from set pieces
Amo Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Well, that was unexpected. No doubt braddock will be along to blame the 'moronic' fans for letting the boys down again.

joey_big_nose Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Another game where we can feel hard done by to an extent. Disallowed goal, save on the line. On the other hand these situation come up time and time again. It is clearly a systemic result of the way in which the team is setup. There is not enough focus on being defensively solid. In terms of the perssonel on the pitch I would only really have issue with bringing on Goodwillie. He is unutterably dire. Totally took the impetus out of the side even if he did score. I was impressed with Formica, Pedersen's set pieces were excellent, Nzonzi was very good again, Dunn looked tidy. However no one could open up Stoke outside of set plays. Sort of game where either Hoilett or Olsson could have caused a real impact.
King Kenny's Magic Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 We will never dominate or even compete in games with that midfield. Dunn n Peds are past it and slow,Big Rad needs a rocket up his arse, samed goes for Formica and N'Zonzi. The fans got behind the team. No excuses Pennywise. ######. ######. ######.
Backroom Tom Posted January 2, 2012 Backroom Posted January 2, 2012 Normal service resumed eh? We were a lot better than against WBA and Bolton and but for luck and refereeing we would have been 1-0 early doors. 2 really weak goals though, the second was just screaming for Lowe to take one for the team on halfway and cut out any danger. I actually thought Petrovic was OK and the only players looking to pick out a pass in the first half, Goodwillie did OK when he came on apart from his ludicrous shot, Rochina was frustrating. Pedersen was poor again but his corners were brilliant today, the abuse he got off some fans at the end was out of order IMO. The most frustrating thing about today was Lee sodding Mason, nearly every time the ball went forward Crouch fouled his marker yet didn't concede one free kick, in their box Samba was held several times yet the only decision he gave was to disallow a goal for us. Fair play to Stoke it works for them but what a horrible horrible team. The only highlight for me were Pedersens tackle on Kean and the ballboy throwing the towel away from Shotton at the end.
Backroom DE. Posted January 2, 2012 Backroom Posted January 2, 2012 Fair play to Stoke it works for them but what a horrible horrible team. People were saying the same about us a couple of seasons ago... and most of us didn't care one jot.

Stuart Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Well, that was unexpected. No doubt braddock will be along to blame the 'moronic' fans for letting the boys down again. What you on about? We lost, we won't hear from B-Rao-ddock again til the next win. S/He can't call the fans today though, they were magnificent, and restrained, in spite of extreme provocation. I fear that people have now completely given up though.
dwayne cage Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Any fan who wants us to lose is a poor fan. I weant Kean and Venky's out as well but we need to win games if we want to stay in the league. We look like we are lagging behind Wigan and Wolves and QPR who all will be probably less worried than us at the moment as our form changes at the drop of a hat. We need consistency let's hope it comes soon though its starting to look more unlikely.
Amo Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 I fear that people have now completely given up though. For the best, Jisty. All the last two results did was give the fans false hope of survival. Anyone watching us for the last twelve months knows Kean is a useless imbecile who doesn't know to string two wins together. That was never going to change because we caught Utd on an off-day.

Amo Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 I despise Braddock. He's a clever little #### who needs taking down a peg or two! I think Braddock's a layyyyydee. And less of the 'clever'.
Mattyblue Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 'horrible, horrible team'? No, just a proper football club with proper owners and management.
Backroom Tom Posted January 2, 2012 Backroom Posted January 2, 2012 People were saying the same about us a couple of seasons ago... and most of us didn't care one jot. I couldn't care less what they think to be honest
Neal Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 It appears roverandout was the winner today... Wish i'd have stayed at home too. That was absolutely terrible, Pedersen is an absolute disgrace to football as are Stoke to an extent. For all those saying Kean deserved credit for the United game... What a joke. We lost 9 points to Sunderland, WBA and Bolton... If we'd have won today and against Fulham then fair enough but I'm afraid it's as you were. We weren't unlucky today, Stoke had a game plan (albeit a horrible one) and defended better than us... YOU MAKE YOUR OWN LUCK IN FOOTBALL.
EWOODACE1 Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 we where poor today but we had a hell of lot of chances. overall play is poor. static is the best way to describe us. if we had have taken half of our chances it would have been 4
thenodrog Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 the lack of movement is frightening. nobody wants the ball and thats why we resort to the long ball. what we do on the training ground is beyond me. we are only dangerous from set pieces Surely not! My source recently informed me that over a year ago now the silver tongued Jerome Anderson convinced old Cruella de Pune by insisiting that he and Kean could turn BRFC into the "Arsenal of the North" if only they could get Allardyce out of the way. That man truly is the antichrist. Well, that was unexpected. No doubt braddock will be along to blame the 'moronic' fans for letting the boys down again. braddock is the wrong sex to truly understand footballing issues. The only person she convinces is herself.
Bing Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 That midfield five is absolutely woeful both on paper and on the pitch. Offers no protection to the back four and completely devoid of ideas going forward. For two lads of 6'3/6'4, it is amazing how you can get through a game not knowing that N'Zonzi and Petrovic are playing - no physical presence, no idea on the ball bar sideways and backwards. If somebody offered £3m for N'Zonzi in Jan I'd drive him there myself. If Mauro Formica was called Dave Barton he'd be playing for Stockport. Dunn - if he was a horse they'd have shot him years ago. Pedersen - powderpuff, been stealing contract extensions for the last seven years.

Lee Mason is a useless pratt. I can't stand the sight of that bugger in charge of any match that I have paid to watch! He must have something against Samba. Last time I saw him at Ewood he gave that absolutely ludicrous penalty against us in the dying minutes that cost us a point after Samba outjumped Fellaini and won a towering header which was in the crowd before any contact was made on the Everton man. Listening to Radio Rovers today and Andy Todd gave withering criticisms of his major decisions and appears to share my opinion of him.
cn174 Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Fair play to Stoke it works for them but what a horrible horrible team. If only we were like Stoke, but Pedersen can't even reach the box with his throwins half of the time!! Pity cos that's the only time we look remotely dangerous. We might 'attack' but we're utterly clueless at it. Bad tactics today. Why did we start so defensively? Whacking it up to Yakubu when there's not another player within 30 yards of him was never going to work and didn't. Instead it was very comfortable for their defence. Whilst at the other end we gave Crouch all the time in the world to control the ball and pass it off. Still at least we got to see glorious highlights of the draw at Anfield at half time eh?. Glad I was there to see that
Mercer Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Normal servoce resumed. If ever a match proved Kean that hasn't got what it takes then this was it. Underlined by the shenanigans over the substitutions which was utter farce. Can barely recall us creating a chance from open play. To start with Petra whilst leaving out Rochina in a home match set the tone - with Petra on the pitch, we simply had no impetus. Petra is possibly the most ineffective midfielder I've seen in a Rovers' shirt in the PL. I feared this would be "after the Lord Mayor's show" and unfortunately I was right. We are doomed.
thenodrog Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 People were saying the same about us a couple of seasons ago... and most of us didn't care one jot. Correct.... except for a few empty vessels on the Blackburn End.
John Howarth Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Garth Crooks saw no reason why Sambas goal was disallowed Unfortunately, Lee Mason had the whistle, not Garth Crooks. It looked the correct decision to me
