jehrover Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 I agree with the principle behind a boycott, however I will not be able to bring myself to participate. If I made the decision to stop going watching Rovers and to stay at home until there is a change then in many ways it would be like holding my hands up and saying to Kean and Venky's 'yes, you've won' Ultimately I don't think Venky's would give two hoots whether 5,000 Rovers supporters turned up or 50,000 Rovers supporters turned up each week. It is not going to make the slightest bit of difference to them or their standard of living. I suppose it might cause a little bit of embarrassment if the ground was completely empty every week on TV, but these are the people who have sat through 6 months of protests, negative publicity and dreadful results (both in a football and financial sense). In order to achieve a shockingly bad attendance you are going to need circa 10,000 of the 15,000 season ticket holders not turning up. Frankly that is never going to happen. It might next season when people refuse to renew. I've had a season ticket since I was 7 years old and watching Rovers at a weekend has become part of my life. Why should I stop doing what I have become used to, what I have been brought up to do, what my father and grandfather did before me, a part of my life, all because of some clueless Indians and a conman of a manager? Would other people stop going to church or the pub or whatever else they spend their weekends doing if they weren't happy with how the place was run? I was here a long time before these muppets and I will be one of those here to pick up the pieces when they have swindled our club for all they can get and disappeared back to doing what they are accustomed to.

PAFELL Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 The way things are going. Folk could be boycotting the last few matches rovers will play. If things are so bad and the club is going bust. We are witnessing the last ever season for rovers. The boycott may end up being permanent. With no club to support. Do people really believe that is the situation we are in?

And that is why protests are needed before during and after!
trueblueroversiloveu Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 +1 for the outside stadium protest. Boycott won't work (read above!) A full 90 minute protest outside the ground is a cracking idea. If only 500-1000 participated it will cause a stir. If started half hour before kick off i think quite a few fans will then join as let's be honest inside ewood isn't the most exciting prospect at the minute. As stoke inevitably go ahead more and more people will leave and join. Could be the one thing that gets this clown out. However it will need the backing/organising of the let (if they get enough email/requests they may publish that it's going to take place thus generating more numbers) or glenmullan. This really is not relegation anymore its about saving our club
Elvis McSmithy Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 News flash for you, the players don't care, they just want money and premiership status. Well give them somthing to care about!, thats my point. p.s. "news flash"!!, little prck I will not be attending again because Rovers matters to me. can i have your season ticket then, please?
Seggie Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Ive paid to go, why should I let them get my money for free? Ive paid and Im going to voice my displeasure at Venky's as loud as I can in the ground. I may consider a boycott when it comes to paying out for future tickets but when Ive paid them Im going whenever possible. Season Ticket holders not going is not detrimental to Venky's ts detrimental to the season ticket holder. Also why should We the fans be pushed out of our club, we were here before these muppets and will be after. Boycotting gives the impression we dont care
Amo Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 You bought your season ticket for Blackburn Rovers FC. You're watching Venky's FC now.
Seggie Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 You bought your season ticket for Blackburn Rovers FC. You're watching Venky's FC now. I appreciate that, all the more reason to give them hell. In fairness I will be boycotting from next season at this rate because st renwals will be what hurts this scum more
Baz Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 If people are going to protest outside the ground I'd suggest a few banners and standing on the hill behind the Riverside may get good media coverage too.
riggers77 Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 Well give them somthing to care about!, thats my point. p.s. "news flash"!!, little prck can i have your season ticket then, please? No, my seat will remain empty as I believe that is the best way of doing something about this crap.
Elvis McSmithy Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 No, my seat will remain empty as I believe that is the best way of doing something about this crap. how is doing nothing, doing somthing. either go get behind the team or go and protest(or sit with arms folded shaking your head in disbliev), if your tickets are paid for do you really think the venky cretins could care less if you go or not, jeez they OWN the club and they cant be arsed goin!!!!!!

If all the people who are serious about boycotting get down to the ground, dont go in stay outside and protest or protest inside staying at home does nothing at all. This is our rovers no matter who owns this club or any other football club in all the leagues in the world would be nothing without it's fans. Get down there and let this fat ignorrant arse mrs D and the world we don't give two plops what they think, WE are blackburn, we'll do what we want
USABlue Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Remember the old old days back when I used to grace the Blackburn End, we used to do a chant that went on for a long time somtimes. It built in a crescendo, we are the Rovers, we are the champions then after a while a Ooh was added. What about a long long chant of something like that along the line of we love the Rovers Venky's out. We love the Rovers we hate the Venkys Supports the team, adds no fuel to the feeling sorry for Kean media brigade and directs it to the Pak err sorry Indian owners we despise.
Inta Beaver Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Supports the team, adds no fuel to the feeling sorry for Kean media brigade and directs it to the Pak err sorry Indian owners we despise. Border line that is USA! Sounds like your still stuck in your olden days.
