[Archived] Where is John Williams?

I have heaps of admiration for JW, a good man and fantastic servant to our club.

However the one thing that has really bothered me throughout this whole nightmare is his continued absence/refusal to comment on anything Rovers.

Here is a man who knows the goings on at Rovers like the back of his hand. The one man who has the respect, authority and contacts to really pile the pressure on Venkys. At a time when those with Rovers' best interests at heart are getting slaughtered by the media a comment from JW would go a long way in validating the cause.

But the silence is deafening. Where is JW? Where are the Trust who are responsible for allowing these fraudsters into our club? Why are those who were charged with the clubs well being so passive?

Sage is spot on. Excellent post. I have thought the same thing on many occassions. Why is JW not coming out and telling it like it is? It is leaving a massive black mark on his time at Rovers. Rovers benefited from JW being at Rovers but let's be honest he wasn't doing it out of charity. JW benefited quite handsomely out of his time at Rovers. He clearly has signed a confidentiality agreement but if Rovers were more than just a job to him, he is rich enough and well connected enough to have declined this offer and still have been a wealthy man for the rest of his life - and far better thought of by Rovers fans. I was no Allardyce fan but fair play to him he is the only one who has the balls to still come out and have a pop at Venky's and Kean.

A confidentiality agreement surely wouldn't prevent him from making general comments on how the club has been run since his departure.

It would be really disappointing if he has decided to wash his hands of the club in its current form. He was part of the group that allowed these prats in and anyone who cares for the club should be doing their utmost to protect us at this moment. Particularly those who have the' know how' to do so.

It says in the LT article that JW and Venky's reached "a settlement" ... now as JW appeared to leave of his own volition and was not sacked surely one has to assume that settlement relates to some kind of confidentiality agreement?

If JW comes out and speaks out, then i'll hold my hand up, but until he does those suspicions will remain.

What a ludicrous position to hold, I suggest keeping your suggestions to yourself if you want to stay out of court.

With John Williams continued silence, then you have to say he is, or was, as bent as our current owners as they must have had something on him.

Whatever came of the Givet £250,000 to a taxi driver incident and wasn't this during Allardyce's/ Williams watch?

Incidently, until that did come out in the open, Kean described it as a problem with "a bit of paperwork". Even after this incident came to light, most of our transfer activity in the summer of 2011 was also slowed down by bits of paperwork according to Kean. Something seriously rotten is going on in football and it is difficult not to think everyone has their nose in the trough. The only person who has ever spoken up about it was Mike Newell who was very quickly cast a-side from football despite being an excellent up and coming young manager.

I agree that JW SHOULD be coming out n damning them all. It seems he wont stick up for the rovers fans or the club for some reason. He doesn't care one little bit about us!! Gone down big time in my estimation and with lots of other fans that i speak to too. Money talks. End of.

I expect JW won't want to breach any agreements or even confidences. No way will I question his integrity.

However, a message of support for a Blackburn Rovers fan base, with no previous for the current scenes, would go a long way - especially with the fans themselves. A very carefully worded statement could surely be drafted and published via the LT?

I would be very surprised if JW isn't extremely disappointed that all of those years of toil he spent, preventing exactly this kind of scenario, have been blown away in little over a year.

Maybe John feels as betrayed by The Trust as we do?

JW is bound by a confidentiality agreement, it will be a for a set period and I am sure that he will come and talk when he is able to do so.

I know he is absolutely devasted by what has happened to Rovers, so much so that he couldn't even bring himself to be at Ewood when City visited.

JW is one of the most respected figures in British football, who did the best possible job after Jack passed away, I find it incredible that people are questioning is integrity.

Close this thread. HE DOESN'T KNOW ANYTHING!!! go ahead and debate for 20 pages if it makes you feel better.

He doesn't know anything about what is going on at Rovers? Are you sure? The guy did a good job balancing the books by assisting some big outgoing transfers but I don't think that automatically makes him a saint. I would be extremely surprised if JW couldn't add anything to the typical man in the street's understanding of what is going on behind the scenes at Ewood. Even if it was just to clarify Anderson's involvement. It is extremenly naive to think that a senior figure in the takeover process who then sat in on numerous board meetings, who also has a number of contacts within football could not shed a little light on matters. To simply say that there was a new order that had their own way of doing things doesn't really cut it for me.

Why do people seem intent on trying to pass the blame on to others. JW did an amazing job for the club. He was forced out by Anderson and Venkys seeking to undermine his skills and ability.

He is now employed by Manchester City Football Club, for him to come out and comment affects his standing within his new role. You wouldn't expect Hunt to come out and comment on Leicester City's current problems/dealings nor would the media even ask him.

If we were to demand comments from anyone I would think a collective statement from the Walker Trust on the breaking of the terms of sale would be in order. However I doubt that is likely until Venkys have run us into the ground and then either the Trust or someone else can scoop us up at a fraction of the price and rebuild us. Probably with JW returning.
