[Archived] Where is John Williams?

JW is bound by a confidentiality agreement, it will be a for a set period and I am sure that he will come and talk when he is able to do so.

I know he is absolutely devasted by what has happened to Rovers, so much so that he couldn't even bring himself to be at Ewood when City visited.

JW is one of the most respected figures in British football, who did the best possible job after Jack passed away, I find it incredible that people are questioning is integrity.

Fair play. I stand corrected. My apologies to JW!

Well put, didn't realise John Williams WASN'T sacked it was a "mutual" thing, still believe he recieved handsome £££'s for the sale (may be wrong but wasn't he an advisor to the walker trust?)

The Walker trustees were the owners of the club. John Williams was an employee of the trustees.

You obviously haven't got a clue, so think before you post.

He would of been well within his rights to decline a clause, i know it's pretty much standard procedure nowadays, but surely he would of still got his payoff? John Williams however great a job he did sold the club down the river imo. The whole walker trust couldn't give a toss and wanted out as fast as possible, i bet williams got a fair amount of cash for the sale and any reservations he had where put to one side? I ain't saying that any of the above could have saw whats happening, BUT they all lined their pockets and not said a WORD since

And since when do we know he would have been successful if he had declined a payout in order to maintain a theoretical right to speak? Your English courts grant gag orders at a drop of the hat. It would not surprise me that if he had refused a clause that bound him from speaking out for a period that a court would not grant an injunction anyway, especially as his knowledge was derived as chairman and he owes fiduciary duties to shareholders (Venkys).

What an odd post. Forget NDA's, silencing orders, gags.

If JW blabbed he would never work in football again.

Excellent post.

If I were a billionaire owner I would not be hiring people with a history of speaking out if things did not go their way.

I think we're all feeling a little bit unloved and isolated at the moment.

We just want someone, with a bit of gravitas, speaking from the heart, whose opinion we actually respect, to stick up for the fans.

The nearest we have got is Tony Parkes. Thanks again, Tony.

No one's saying JW has to go into all the ins and outs of what happened with the takeover etc. But he could at least speak out against the state of the club, where Venky's have gone wrong etc. A man of his stature isn't really going to burn bridges by saying what everyone else is thinking.

Haven't we have been unloved and isolated since we gatecrashed the Premier League party?

In many ways we are in the process of finding our true level in the football hierarchy although it's still touch and go where that level will end up being!

What JW knows and can or cannot say is historic and largely irrelevant now.

The MB achieves yet another staggering drop in quality as a few look around for a scapegoat. Close this drivel.

Scapegoat eh? Look no further than Dick Dastardly and Muttley!

The real cause of all this is to be found in the murky world of football agents. The 'fixer' who brought the slumdog millinaires and Rothschilds together (whatever happens in the future Mrs D for what you are paying for BRFC you cannot lose financially) is the same man who had to see Allardyce and Williams off in order to gain real control and a free run to his own personal El Dorado. The man who persuaded the clueless Mrs Desai to pot Allardyce, Williams and other key personnel in order that he and some third rate much travelled coach could produce quote "the Arsenal of the North" and Champions League football at Ewood Park with a ludicrous input of just 5m pa! He sold a dream and she swallowed it all hook line and sinker.

Also I believe the 'fixer' persuaded her to dispose of John Williams. Mrs Desai commented publically in the LET last year about John Willaims "I know that he did not get along with Steve (Kean) and he had struggled to accept Jerome (Anderson)'s role at the club." I have been informed from a very very reliable source that a certain individual whilst withdrawing from public eye is still the man who is pulling the strings of the Venkey mob and the manager. Player transfers are his decision and his decision alone and imo those decisions are not football based but rather finance based. We've seen how Rochina's 400k deal turned into one of 1.8m once his agents fee was settled but we don't know how much of that 1.4 difference was sliced off in commision and ended up elsewhere.... Some swiss bank account would be my guess. From which a percentage will then be apportioned off to a similar account in the name of some follically challenged individual of our regrettable aquaintance.

So too we now apparently see Formica heading for the exit door. Now what goes on here? We have paid out good money to sign a player last January who was not up to speed enough to play until this season and who now after a handfull of games has decided that he is homesick. I doubt the club will benefit financially so why go along with it? Could it perhaps be on advice from at least two who will benefit financially in the shape of aforementioned agents fees?

Corporate pillaging and rape seems the best description to what is going on. A great old institution like BRFC is being systematically destroyed through a combination of ignorance/stupidity and sheer get rich quick greed. Unfortunately as long as nothing crosses the legal line there is little that can be done other than witness the demise of BRFC in the way one watches a fatal car crash in slow motion. As I have said before forget the football, forget the results, forget the league position cos none of these matter to the guy behind all this.... all that matters is the crudest form of get rich quick profiteering that I have ever come across. Every deal in or out will imo carry more that a whiff of suspicion to me.

Almost as bad is the current and imo orchestrated media campaign to dicredit the fans for protesting! Latest being the mealy mouthed Alan Shearer. He critises the fans who hand over their hard earned every year and who in doing so have surely every right to voice their feelings and certainly before all those press/media/LMA members who won't ever have paid a penny to get watch a live match in their born bloody lives!

Note the time Topman...... Unfortunately the only true 'amber nectar' which is Kronenberg works both ways. It has the capacity to ruin a weak man and make a strong man great! Problem is and something not understood by board moderation is that by nature it's effects are unpredictable. Sometimes it can have the opposite effect.

Now where did I put my ear? I've made a right bloody mess of the pillow..............

At least the Muppetts will see it (well, the people they've tasked with keeping an eye on this board) ;)

Gordon's lager-fuelled post goes to the heart of the problem and shows there is a good story there for an investigative journalist willing and interested enough in BRFC to do some digging and knock on the right doors. Henry Winter on the Daily Telegraph or David Conn on the Guardian might be worth contacting or some of the Sunday broadsheets who have the time and editorial space to tell a good yarn. Some people are enriching themselves while overseeing the destruction of our beloved football club and they and their underhand dealings need to be exposed.
