And yet the general media/public rarely mention it, plus some of our fans have never heard of Jerome Anderson...

Your right but lets get those banners sorted for Fulham and show everyone that we know who he is.

I personally think Maynard is a good shout along with Brek Shea from FC dallas in the MLS. 6ft 3 winger bring him in!

But seriously and ideal chaep replacement for Hoilett or Cameron Stewart at Hull City.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brek_Shea

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cameron_Stewart_%28footballer%29

A replacement for Samba is Bakary Soumare who plays for US bolounge in France 6ft 4 so has the aerial threat like Samba,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bakary_Soumare

Need a Darron Gibson on loan from Man Utd though, able to last 90 mins and a good goal threat from cms unlike Dunny.

Fredy Montero - Seattle striker in the MLS can we do an Henry loan deal for two months? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fredy_Montero

Mounir El Hamdoui - Ex Spurs and linked last window a loan move was mooted to espanyol but fell through in august, perhaps we can take advantage and bring him in on a 6 month loan from ajax reserves?

Break Shea is highly sought after, don't think that's very realistic.

Some good shouts though.

Dunn has scored 21 goals in all competitions since 2007, Gibson's scored 11... so not really true. Gibson is hugely overrated as a "goal threat", probably because all he's known for is long range shooting. The rest of his game is average to say the least.

Intresting taking nothing away from your stats because they are facts but who has played most games or are they about the same, I do think Gibson although overrated is quite a good player still.

In that time Gibson had 52 apps and Dunn had 109, so Dunn has had more opportunities than Gibbo. Still, looking at overall ratios Gibson is at best marginally better than Dunn and he plays in a far superior team. No idea which apps are sub appearances etc.

At the present time Gibson would be able to play more than Dunn, but I don't think he's the player we need. I really don't rate him.

But we dont need another attacking midfielder, we need someone who can win the bloody ball as illustrated by Newcastles first goal yesterday!!

Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean is chasing French winger Wahbi Khazri as he waits to sell contract rebel Junior Hoilett.

Woo hoo.

Priorities there for all to see. Hope the realise it's January at some point during the next 3 weeks.

Just heard Des Kelly and football agent Sky Andrews on TalkShite discussing Keans involvement with SEM/Kentaro. They both wernt impressed with the set up.

KEAN-OUT ANDERSON-OUT

Probably gutted they didn't think of it first!

I haven't seen enough of him to judge, but the impression I get from United fans is that they don't rate him very highly at all. I'll trust them on that.

According to Kamy in the latest podcast Guthrie and Maynard (who ive always liked) are targets that could be lined up

2 championship standard players.....Fook off, no thanks!

Sell one for £5m+ and replace him with a £1m player who nobody has heard of, great! :(

I've never seen Maynard play, I just found it odd that you compared him to a striker that was a failure in the Premier League and ended up playing in the lower divisions.

I'd buy an aggressive central midfielder before I thought about buying a striker.

You are a Blackburn fan right? So surely you must remember Jon Stead saving us from relegation pretty much single handedly!!???

Regardless of what he did for us or anyone else after his initial first season with us, the point is we were going down and Souness brought him in which due to Steads goals secured our PL status. I seem to remember him only costing around 1.5 million too?

So I think its fair to hope for a player that can be brought in at a bargain price that would score goals to guarantee our safety. He could spend the rest of his career never scoring another goal for all I care, our immediate future is paramount. I think under Keans reign we are getting frustrated with the players he has signed "for the future"

PS I will forever be grateful to Jon Stead for saving our PL bacon, but then again im not fickle

It would appear that we are preparing for the Championship already. In which case one can only hope that the club hang on to Keith Andrews who has proved he is more than decent at that level.

Bloody hell Hughesy, things must be bad to invoke these sort of responses from you !

However, welcome to the real world !

Of course, I remember Stead very fondly.

Ultimately he wasn't a PL player though and we were very fortunate that he had that hot streak at the beginning of his Rovers career. Usually it works the other way round; players take time to adapt to the new league instead of taking it by storm and then tailing off.

The chances of finding someone from the lower leagues to fire us to safety are incredibly slim. To be honest, even if we signed Sergio Aguero we'd still go down as we are conceding two goals a game. Finding a way of keeping clean sheets is the most important thing in this window, if we can't do that we'll be going down for sure.

No mate - im positive again today

Its just all these little things trying to grind us down that is getting tough, we just need to somehow hold onto Samba, and improve our squad!

It's a Catch-22 though Hughesy. The only way we can bring people in is by selling our better players. What's the betting that the players we bring in end up being worse than the players we let go? I can't remember the last time I felt positive about the Rovers. I'm fairly positive that we won't be a Premier League team next season - does that count as being positive? :(

Exactly correct.....

I think we will sell Hoillett for £5 million and get "The Young Thierry" in for £1 million with the other £4 million getting lost down the back of the Venky's sofa. We will then wait until about 2 hours before the transfer deadline before selling Samba, put in a couple of last-minute derisory offers for players that are rejected. Kean will say he tried but the other club / player priced themselves out of a move and it's not his fault and judge him after the August transfer window.....cue Venky's bulging sofa again.....
