Not too fussed about losing Hoilett for the right money and if we got a decent replacement (I know the last two things may not happen) as when he has played recently it seemed like all the form and rave reviews had gone to his head. Now he wants to take the whole team on and ignore his teammates.

Agreed - but its the replacement bit that worries me. Id rather we sold him & Formica and replaced them with say Krancjar and another.

Rochina is a much better prospect than both so he needs to play week in, week out from now on.

Of course, I remember Stead very fondly.

Ultimately he wasn't a PL player though and we were very fortunate that he had that hot streak at the beginning of his Rovers career. Usually it works the other way round; players take time to adapt to the new league instead of taking it by storm and then tailing off.

The chances of finding someone from the lower leagues to fire us to safety are incredibly slim. To be honest, even if we signed Sergio Aguero we'd still go down as we are conceding two goals a game. Finding a way of keeping clean sheets is the most important thing in this window, if we can't do that we'll be going down for sure.

yeah fair enough but i think Souness theory was the lad is on fire I hope he brings his form with him which someone like Rhodes MAY do.

But your right keeping clean sheets is the main objective (hhmm wasnt big sam quite good at sorting out our defence and hence a 10th placed finish?)

I actually think we already have the keepers and defenders to be solid at the back its just Kean!! Yeah Iwould be happy with signings a right back but the rest are experienced solid PL players. I think we need a striker to lift the burden off the Yaks broad shoulders and also just in case he gets injured!!!!!!

I agree with that. Well, I agree in that it's Kean's fault that we don't have a midfield capable of producing clean sheets. Individually I am in no doubt that the defenders are good enough, but the central midfield is so weak that it cancels out any ability that they have.

Our possession stats every game and appalling and we don't have an aggressor in the centre of the park. N'Zonzi is good positionally and tidy on the ball, but he needs someone alongside him who can grab the game by the scruff of the neck and put themselves about.

We desperately need another Jermaine Jones signing in this window. I have no idea who that could be though. Obviously we won't find anyone of his quality, but we need someone with similar attributes quickly.

All this speculation is, IMO, just fantasy land.

In reality, IMO, we are financially screwed and even if we sell any player, I wouldn't bet a 'nine bob note' on any more than a notional reinvestment of those monies.

Orr, Klebe, Khazri, Fuller etc mind-numbing names which leave me speechless.

All this shyte just illustrates how far we have fallen and where we are going.

Unfortunately, IMV, we are virtually dead and the burial is being arranged.

Agreed its the midfield that is so poor....MGP is a liability in terms of tackling, short passes etc. Then in central midfield whilst NZonzi is tidy passing it accross or back, he very rarely moves the ball forward.

The Kenyan lad from Celtic looks a good midfielder who likes to stick a challenge in.

I think the last few windows have shown that we cannot compete financially in the premiership any more. It is getting harder and harder for teams like ours to compete with teams who have money. Even QPR are going to be a better team than us after the window has closed. We haven't spent any serious money for years and it is now coming back to haunt us. Just as it is haunting Bolton and Wigan. It will catch up with Everton and Newcastle sooner or later and every other team that doesn't spend serious money - West Brom, Wolves, Swansea, Norwich. This is the way football works now.

Partly right, however, doesn't help when you are losing money at the rate of £19m per year like we are !!!

Successful management structures, sound finance bases and managers who know what they are doing does help though !!! Like we once had just 14 months ago !!!

Out of the clubs you mention, there are some wily managers there: Moyes, Hodgson, Rodgers, Lambert and others who are still streets ahead of Kean ie Coyle, Martinez & McCarthy.

Well the only one that surely would add something to our squad would be Kebe - I'm also sure I read something about him being a rovers fan a few years ago and saying how he wanted to score against burnley - TOP LAD :)

Hopefully we can get Andrews, Grella, Roberts, Salgado off the books and sell Formica/Hoilett then we can bring in some players.

If Hoilett would go to Bolton - which I seriously doubt - surely this is because of the current management/general poor running of BRFC nowadays!

Diamonds in the rough eh? Buying players who can go straight in and do a job in the Prem eh?

I think we can say goodbye to the Prem and goodbye to the parachute payments. I will be making my point at the next game regardless of the comments of the so called pundits and sickly press.

How much will the Loons from Pune net from the Parachute Payments? Actually it's us that are the loons - this shower are just bandits?

They'll be killing themselves with laughter all the way to the bank. Who says you can't make money out of football?

The Pemiership MUST step in NOW before they get there hands on the PP's.

Has no one in the club enough b&lls to stand up and say how it is?

?? Where have you been?? The players we are likely to get in will certainly not be of the standard of Hoilett - some players? Who?

We won't get any replacements who are even as good as Salgado and Roberts ffs. NO One with any sense will come here!

It's me isn't it today.

You loose a player for the 'right' money when they have just signed a new contract. Not when they've been on the wagebill for years without getting a work permit, turn up with one, get a few good games and go on a Bosman because your club were:

a. stupid enough to let your contract run down

b. convince them you are a clown run by clowns who have not interest in the club.

As it stands we will loose 50-100m from going down. Can the Bruvvas not see this!

DoH!

True but there's only so far you can go without having any money to spend. Hughes knew that which is why he left rovers. Rovers were on the slide under the trust and a takeover was meant to stop the decline. In reality, it has speeded up the decline. With a decent manager and sensible financial bases, like we were under the trust, we would have been in the prem for a few more years. However, it was inevitable that we were going to get relegated at some point because we had no money to strengthen the squad. That's why Hughes left, and Souness and there was even talk of Allardyce wanting out.

Everton are on the slide now that they have stopped spending, Newcastle got lucky this season as there risky signings turned out to be good, Wolves have stagnated (and that's only because they actually spent money), wigan and Boltojn are on the decline. Swansea and Norwich are flash in the pans. Look at the teams in the top half of the table - most of them have money to spend.

LET links us with Bosnian free agent Zlatan Muslimovic, QPR defender Bradley Orr, Reading winger Jimmy Kebe and Stoke striker Ricardo Fuller.

Steve, that's the wrong Bosniak-Swedish Zlatan! You want to sign the other one.
