Drover Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Ricardo fuller... Jesus wept!!!! Just nearly choked on my tea. Would be a terrible move. Maybe kean has got it in his head that after Yak he is the reviver of slightly overweight strikers.

patrickvalery Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Ricardo fuller... Jesus wept!!!! I didn't realise he was a Rovers fan too.
dopper69 Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Is tomas rosicky availible on a free? Might be worth a shout?
JAL Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Ricardo fuller... Jesus wept!!!! Bradley Orr.... Jesus wept !
dingles staying down 4ever Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 I seeing the player Jesus Wept on here. Which team does he play for? Which player does Kean think he is the new one of? I don't think he come personally. lol
AggyBlue Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Exactly correct..... We will then wait until about 2 hours before the transfer deadline before selling Samba, put in a couple of last-minute derisory offers for players that are rejected. Kean will say he tried but the other club / player priced themselves out of a move and it's not his fault and judge him after the August transfer window.....cue Venky's bulging sofa again..... :lol:My thoughts exactly
joey_big_nose Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Ricardo fuller... Jesus wept!!!! Am I the only person on here who actually thinks Fuller is quite decent? I mean not brilliant but certanly better than Goodwillie, Kalinic, Roberts et al. Has suffered at Stoke from them pumping the ball up so much. Has good feet. edit - he is 32 years old. Jesus christ, no idea about that. AVOID AVOID AVOID......
Pedro Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Spot on. Goodwillie is a brick. Too slow. Yak is a brick too of course, but the good kind... he at least has a turn of speed and can spot a chance and take it in a millisecond. We need someone to act as a foil to Yak, not a pale (no pun intended) imitation of him minus the turn of speed. Get rid of Goodwillie now. And Roberts. And Petrovic. And the young brazilian (who ?). Along with Salgado, Grella etc. They are adding no value, and we need to bring in some cash so we can buy (or at least pay the loan wages for) a proper left back, a decent CM, and someone with speed up front...without selling Samba. The "young Brazilian" is actually about 29!!! You are forgiven for thinking otherwise though by the way he was described as a young Dennis Irwin!
redroses Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 i remember a goal Fuller scored at west ham maybe last season or the season before when he literally created the goal out of nothing. I don't think he's quite bargain basement but maybe one step up. If he was playing every week i feel he'd score a few due to his unpredictable nature but realistically he couldn't save us from the drop.
mjwood00 Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Fuller is a more dangerous Roberts. Very similar but can finish. We should have bought him from Preston a decade ago. If we are short and skint then on a free he will help us but it ain't no glamour signing that's for sure.
scotty_beam_me_up Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Came on in the vain hope that there was a Nicko eleven o'clocker that we were signing someone decent but I see the chat is about Fuller, how depressing. Time for bed I think!!
rog of the rovers Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 I can see Samba wanting to go to QPR if Hughes becomes manager. We can only hop Sparky over pays for him (ala Roque Santa Cruz) £15-20m will do nicely!
47er Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 As we all knew, the four players who Kean wants to sign will come from the bargain basement. Not one promise about transfers has ever been kept, including "we are no longer a selling club". How I long for some good news.
Sparky Marky Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Kebe yes fuller yes the other two must be jokes.
joey_big_nose Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Levante want Rochina!! If they pay good money for him I would rather lose him than Samba or Nzonzi. Will be a great player one day but just not very dangerous for us.
roverandout Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 so four players who would be squad players, no improvement on the side whilst we sell off our only truly valuable assests, great to be a rovers fan at the moment!!!

Not one promise about transfers has ever been kept, including "we are no longer a selling club". How I long for some good news. We have continued to operate as a trading club. Our loss on player acquisitions is roughly the same to our gain on player sales. Even if you don't count the mysterious 5.8m loss on player sales mentioned in the latest accounts. For us to be a selling club we would have to have spent 8m and brought in 18m like 2 seasons ago and then spent that money on covering operating loss and boost shareholder funds. Instead we balanced the books and injected an additional 10m capital to cover operational expenses.

Stuart Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 We are a third of the way through the transfer window. What does Kean count as being early to do his transfer business? Maybe he's already finished...?
The Rover of Finland Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 We are a third of the way through the transfer window. What does Kean count as being early to do his transfer business? Maybe he's already finished...? Shopping is done. Now just few sales like Junior and Samba and the window is over.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted January 10, 2012 Moderation Lead Posted January 10, 2012 Window shopping and talk I think is as good as it will get, apart from the obvious fire sale that we're conducting....
beastlove Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 True but there's only so far you can go without having any money to spend. Hughes knew that which is why he left rovers. Rovers were on the slide under the trust and a takeover was meant to stop the decline. In reality, it has speeded up the decline. With a decent manager and sensible financial bases, like we were under the trust, we would have been in the prem for a few more years. However, it was inevitable that we were going to get relegated at some point because we had no money to strengthen the squad. That's why Hughes left, and Souness and there was even talk of Allardyce wanting out. Everton are on the slide now that they have stopped spending, Newcastle got lucky this season as there risky signings turned out to be good, Wolves have stagnated (and that's only because they actually spent money), wigan and Boltojn are on the decline. Swansea and Norwich are flash in the pans. Look at the teams in the top half of the table - most of them have money to spend. Sadly this is very true but makes our recent decline even more sad. We had no money but a good manager and board who made sure we operated within our limits and got best value for our players . We are going down this year because of our owners not because we have a terrible team. This could all have been avoided by sacked kean and bringing in some with experience .
Stuart Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Top few threads in the "Transfer Forum" at the minute (Lunch time on 11th Jan) - Samba - N'Zonzi - Hoilett - Formica - Arne Friedrich - Zac Aley Tells its own story...
