We need to look short term at the mo. Any player that would improve us until the end of the season would be good in my book. Hopefully with PL status we can attract a better owner. Cue Quatar's prince dude to shimmy his way in...

Told at ground today that loan bid for Newcastle's Guthrie has gone in.

Wasn't your bookie was it MM?

Funnily, no ! He's not speaking to me at the moment because I've taken a few quid off him with 3 straight winners on the nags this week and he wont take any further bets from me, at least on the horses, as he reckons I've inside info. ! Oh the irony !

However, sent him a bottle of Ootori (Jap. Prem. Whisky) as a 'peace' offering and I think normal service will be resumed next week !

Thanks AJW. I've never seen the lad play, but we do need someone who can put it about.

I may get slaughtered for this. But, with Chung-yong Lee being a Bolton player, the sports channel here shows a lot of Bolton Wanderers. I think Reo-Coker on a free might have been nice business for us in the Summer. He's never disgraced himself even when they've been pasted. He's got a lot of energy and seems to relish the battle.

Over to Venkys now. After yesterday there is a smidgen of positivity around the club for once. I think we have accepted that Samba is offski, so get that sorted ASAP and then get 3-4 in on the back of that. If they do then there is a chance we might get away with this season by the skin of our teeth.

Joey Barton on his way out at QPR according to the Sunday Mirror http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/QPR-Mark-Hughes-is-ready-to-ditch-Joey-Barton-article854007.html

Could Venky's live with or Kean handle Joey's behaviour? If so, Barton adds creativity and steel in midfield. May be worth a chance in the knowledge that he would probably be off if we go down.

If QPR don't want him he could be a good acquisition.

Barton signed a 4 year deal worth £60k a week, QPR will struggle to get rid of him.

We haven't got a chance unless they're willing to part fund any move. Also, he's very outspoken on twitter, I think he might be quite opinionated on things like match day protests.

Remember when Rovers "wanted" Ronaldinho but he went back to Brazil?

Well, it seems he will be free again soon. Flamengo hasn't paid him in a few months and his agent said he will probably leave.

Prepare yourself for more rumours linking us to him all over the internet and newspapers...

not many clubs in Premier League have done alot of business tho. be a strange window so far. lots of rumours but not much movement yet.

Next 2 weeks will be busy.

Chaddy, you've been listening to Kean too much and drinking too much beer.

Nearly all our activity, IMO, will be sales !
