Chaddy on the button again and a cracking night for Uncle Claudio !

Apart from one season on loan with Angers I think, when he scored almost 20 goals, he's never really been prolific and averages about 1 in 4. Once seen as a player with potential but not kicked-on.

A useful loan but will he not need time to settle which we don't have !

its just another shabani nonda.

We all want Rovers to keep their best players and we all want the team strengthening.

Unfortunately, the landscape has changed dramatically and some need to recognise this.

Can anyone give me one selling point the Rovers now have in order to keep its best talent and attract new talent ?

Well run and progressive club - not IMO

Respected manager and staff - not IMO

Available investment to strengthen the team - not IMO

Good league position - not IMO

I absolutely hate what has happened to our club over the last 14 months but we are where we are and the likes of Johnson (who, seemingly we can't afford anyway), Modeste, Orr etc, just do not float my boat nor others judging by our collapsing attendances (versus last season, Stoke gate down by 4,800 <19%> & Fulham gate down by 5,700 <24%>).

Fulham have a small away following and are all the way in London, so I would imagine home fans' attendance was comparable to the stoke game.

Those numbers are in direct comparison to last season when for Stoke we had 25,440 & for Fulham 23,729.

This season we had Stoke 20,615 & for Fulham 18,003.

See the issue now ?

Swansea had 20k on last night at the liberty. I bet that's the first time we've had a lower attendance on a corresponding round of league fixtures with Swansea...

Says a lot about the direction of both mentioned clubs. Which will affect possible transfer targets as mentioned. Although it is worth bearing in mind that there are some Positives to coming to play for us..

Only thing i can think of, is premiership football for a short time and bonus incentives aligned to keeping the club in the league.....

Guaranteed first team football for some players. A factor which I imagined help sway the Yakto join us?

Could be one of the main reasons someone like AJ joins us too

Interesting and frustrating - we need midfield strengthening and we see loan deals for Frimpong to Wolves and McEachran to Swansea.

We are linked with Caceres who as far as I'm aware doesn't speak English and is untested in Europe.

Wonder who unearthed this potential 'gem' and which player(s) will hit the ground running first.

Appears as though the cheap option is always best. Looks like we are heading for an uninspiring window.

Honestly!

Frimpong - who is to say we wern't in the running for him and he chose Wolves(Not a bad choice TBH). Even if we didn't we cant be in for every player.

McEachran - good young prospect who has looked promising surrounded by world class players. However, not what we need in CM. We need hard working ###### kickers, not fancy dan passers. Not yet anyway.

As adsfortheblues said in the Caceres thread "Paraguay last year reached the final after winning only one game all the way through the competition (excluding penalty-shoot outs), mainly down to solid defensive displays, keeping 3 clean sheets along the way 1 of which was against brazil, and caceres was instrumental in those defensive performances" - This is what we need. Not McEachran.

EDIT. Who cares if he speaks English or not? Have you ever heard Kenny Dalglish speak.....?

Not yet anyway. Don't disagree - just making the point that there are proven, to a degree, operators in PL available who have to be a lower risk option to non Europeans & non English speaking players.

Not McEachran. Mokoena was / is South African captain, didn't make him a perfect solution even with his European game experience and ability to speak English !

EDIT. Who cares if he speaks English or not? Have you ever heard Kenny Dalglish speak.....? Holding position is a position where you do need to talk more than in other areas of the pitch. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's not kid ourselves, makes a huge difference.

Once had a great Centre back in my team, scouts said, for his age (18) was the best he had seen, but he couldnt talk and organise, thaqt is where we have been lacking this season, no one talking and organising and one other criteria which would most certainly disappear if Samba left, 'Presence' we wouldnt have one player with 'presence'

True. The only players who are vocal are Samba and Robinson. Hanley looks like he might be as his confidence grows but not yet. We really need a personality, particularly in midfield.
