Let me put it this way, when we had 10 men against Fulham I was very happy to see Formica come off the bench as I knew hed put a shift in.........and then he scored too :D

Spot on, I completely agree with you. I like Formica, he runs his nuts off an hassles everyone and he has some talent. Would be really ###### off if he goes on loan or is sold when we have nobbers like Grella, Roberts picking up a wage.

For me, apart from teh selling the club, I think the best solution is to pay off Roberts, Salgado, Andrews, Grealla - and use the freed wages on Loan signings to the end of the season. Surely there are loan signings out there that will improve our team......

In two minds about the Formica move.. he has grown on me as he does put a shift in and at times shows some skill.. if used in the right position I reckon he would do very well.

I think the Rochina thing is a bit of a mute point, the lad without a doubt has talent but he needs to be allot more mature and allot calmer on the pitch (i.e. not loose the ball so often) and that tends to come with age, I also think yet again he is a player who is in the wrong position under Kean, would so love to see him playing off the Yak as a second striker.

I am guessing this is down to Kean having to choose who to sacrifice in midfield.. and personally I would go for one not mentioned here lately and that would be Nzonzi, he is a form player who when not feeling right has long stretches playing poorly.. every time for me he has shown promise and this is not the first time he has had a decent run (probably 3-4 breif decent runs imo) he suddenly looses it and goes back to being poor/average. One thing I have noticed and I know I am not the only one, is that when he is playing poor it seems to have a major effect on the team as a whole. Basically if getting the lad in from Paraguay is dependant on someone going I would like to see Nzonzi go rather than Formica.

'Hughesyland' " Hoilett & Rochina. (Both who are better than Formica)"

Official PL stats upto and including the Swansea game.

From those stats I'd say he was more equped for a relegation battle than both the forementioned. ;)

You know the best part of those stats.. Roberts mins per goal/shot on target = infinity.. made me chuckle no end.

Definatly not! we need the centre of midfield adding to it not taking away.

Formican is a second striker we have dunn, rochina and simon to play that role. I personaly want formica to stay and out of all our midfielders he has put in the most tackes and has a 90 percent succsess rate I think he could do a job partnering n'zonzi given the chance. But we really dont want to be selling our first team.

This wouldn't work. As to pay them off you are basically paying them, up front in one hit, the wages they would be paid over the length of theuir contract.

It wouldn't save money at all, in fact it would mean a larger outgoing now, rather than over the next 6-18 months.

If our entire transfer window rests on flogging Andrews to Wigan, i wonder what i'd do if i were Roberto Martinez? He cannot lose. Wait until the last day to seriously bid for him (if he even indeed wants him) and we either sell him and have no time to spend the cash or we keep him and he won't play anyway.

People can say what they like about Kean being this that or the other. But the real problem is our farcical owners. This window should have been sorted out weeks or even months ago. We've wasted more than 3/4's of it so far and i see no reason to suggest we'll improve that record in the last 1/4. I get wound up when i read MG Road on other threads talking about how to get the best out of Venky's etc... well i'm afraid it is them who needs to get to know their audience.

I actually wonder if their plan all along was promotion of Venky's Xpress. Rovers is simply a vehicle to promote the new Blackburn Burger - "Cheap to buy, goes down easily and promises to never come back up".

Hey Pat! I was driving back from a meeting in Lincoln today, an unremarkable journey, but thats the M180 and Talksport for you. All pretty bland. Hawksby and Jacobs were talking to Tim Vickery about something or other, to be honest I was more interested in not crashing. Then Tim mentioned that The Championship (the one we'll be in if we don't improve our league position) is pretty big in Brazil and the games are shown over there, such is the interest in English football. Then I got thinking about the Rovers and how "Venkys are big in the Brazilian chicken world". Then I realised I was just letting my imagination run wild.

Anyway, back to the transfers. Exciting isn't it?

It is! I've never been as excited since some 25 years ago when my mother took me to the toy shop promising to buy me the Castle Greyskull or another equally top of the range toy. I was so excited. I really was. When we got to the shop she turned to me, looked me square in the eyes and said "you gullible little tw@t! I've got no money! Ha ha ha ha ha. The look on your face! Priceless" And it is for these nostalgic moments that i love our noble owners so much. Its their playful nature!

I do hope you didn't cry, or complain, or run off to your bedroom when you got home. I bet your poor Mother didn't know what to do. Did she ignore you for the next few months and pretend you didn't exist? Maybe get a friend of hers to tell you "don't worry, next week your mums going to get her shopping done early so you can have Castle Greyskull, she might have to sell the family car first though and then run off with all the money after remortgaging your house, you ungrateful little sod, she's trying to sell some chickens here!"

Highly unlikely. Hopefully not.

Na, sadly i'm still lumbered with the tight old witch! Still waiting for Castle bleeding Greyskull and falling for the old toyshop routine every six months.

Only joking mum. Love you dearly. Bob made me say it.

They are making money without selling OR buying anyone....how?

I think the conspiracy would be that Venkys have given Kean 5 - 10 mil to buy in January and Kean has just pocketed it?

As for Rochina having talent but poor decision making, I cant help but feel the talent is the hard part to get and the decision making can be taught by a good manager/and or coach?

Basically I feel if Rochina were at Arsenal say he would be a lot more deadly.

Kean also expects Rochina to track back too much, Rochina is ALL about his attacking ability, I wouldnt want him or Yak chasing anything BUT you need work horses in the tam to accomodate that. JJ was the kind of player to make that system work.

Does anyone remember how good Zidane was at tracking back? No? EXACTLY!!!!!

PS to be fair Messi does track back but hes too good to be compared to.

Six days to go and all we have to show for Kean's hype is Modeste.

I'd rather have the brutal truth and someone say, we haven't the resources to be competitive !

Totally agree; all this we are trying to get our business done early, has just spectacularly backfired again for Steve Kean. they would be better comign out and setting expectations from the off; we have no money, we are looking at loan signings and shifting some players to balance the books.

Be honest Rovers PR, Venkys and Steve Kean ! you will get more respect that way !

Zidane was always where he should have been during a game, pressing his opponents and then winning the ball and creating things and scoring goals, I think you need to watch some of his performances, Zidane had everything and to say he never worked back is totally wrong!!

Im sorry but you mistaken. Zidane had everything bar tackling ability, he didnt press players at all. He would always have Guerin, Deschamps, Makelele, Vieria, Petit type players doing that part of the job for him.

If you watch back his performances he very rarely even stuck out a leg defensively. Going forward though he was one of the greatest players of all time
