not happy with this window, signed two loan players that wont pull up any trees, we need quality not quantity, i know we have no cash but will these two players make any real difference to the first team? i doubt it, if this is the best we can hope for then im afraid to say we will struggle to stay up now.

I think the main objective was to keep our "Star" players this window. Any additions to our squad is a bonus in my book.

Heard from a Geordie friend that Alan Smith is a loan possibility for Rovers.

Friend or bookie

Additions to the first team are the most important, can't count the young kiwi! By the sounds of it Stutter is the closest thing we have to a second signing!

Disappointing, as expected. I never bought into the positive Kean outlook with the usual 'we'll get deals done early' crap. I think we all said at the time, 'we'll believe it when we see it... and we were right not to. However January is always a difficult time to bring people in which just makes the bullshit even more irritating and unnecessary. But we're used to it now and it won't change, all we can do is hope the current squad has enough to stay up. COYB!

How active are our bids, though? That's the question.

Id say we prob have been active but are valuations of players have been nowhere near,

we were rumoured with gunter and onuoha, and seems we are settling for sutter who has fallen down the pecking order for young boys.

Im sure a lot of our targets have been depending on how soon we could shift certain players out of our squad.

So im guessing there could be this loan midfielder kamy was on about could be a slightly bigger name that the other 2, will be our last signing.

For the record I think the player will be Sokratis Papastathopoulos

Alan Smith... Does he still play football??

I think we need someone who is at least fit to play if nothing else...

With Roberts now departed, hopefully it frees up some wages to get in a centre midfielder on loan. Aside from this, unless Andrews finally gets kicked out - I don't seem much else happening next week.

I've said before but Kalinic would score a hatful in our current team, particularly alongside Yakubu.

Alan Smith wouldn't be a bad signing, if he could stay injury free (big if).

Kalinic played in a team similar to our current one and never set the world alight.

Goodwillie is a Decent enough replacement for what niko actually did

Since Smith's been mentioned, how about Owen Hargreaves on loan? He's actually played a game or two this season and doesn't look to be getting in the City side anytime soon. Might be worth a cheeky bid to see if he's interested. Again, a gamble - but a better one than Smith in my view.

Nowhere near as good as Niko, When played in a 442 Niko was good, when played up front on his own he struggled, Goodwillie puts in a shift but technically he is yards off Niko.

We missed a trick not offering him a pay as you play deal when he was finishing at Utd
