Heard where? Also, surely it's James Collins and not John... In which case it would be movement on the Samba (or Dann) front

No its John....ex fulham with Kean

Where you hearing that vintage? Surely Dann to Villa then? No great loss if we get Collins the other way

Why are people banging on about kalinic like he was some superstar? The lad had plenty of chances and he just always looked slow and spent all his time on his backside. Goodwillie is clearly a better player runs the channels and is stronger than kalinic and he is still improving and a long way to go.

And if you going off kalinic's stats in a poor league, goodwillie in his last season in the spl got 17

Nowhere near as good as Niko, When played in a 442 Niko was good, when played up front on his own he struggled, Goodwillie puts in a shift but technically he is yards off

Both are back up strikers at best, goodwillie has 4 in all competitions in not all that many starts, I imagine nikos stats for his first season weren't much better.

It's a pointless discussion anyway I suppose

Since Smith's been mentioned, how about Owen Hargreaves on loan? He's actually played a game or two this season and doesn't look to be getting in the City side anytime soon. Might be worth a cheeky bid to see if he's interested. Again, a gamble - but a better one than Smith in my view.

Do Man city need him to make their Euro quota of home-growns?

I bet I would match kalinic's record in that league. Face it the guy was not good enough!!

I would take you up on that bet if you could find one of those clubs to sign you. There's fairly big money in the ukrainian league atm. Used to be a one team league (Dynamo Kiev), turned into a two team league when Shakhtar Donetsk got a rich owner, but now the money's spread to more teams. Shakhtar won the Europa League, Dnipro got far in the same competition, Dynamo Kiev was huge a few years back, Metalist not doing so bad either. Shakhtar was once ranked the nr 1 team in Europa (2009?), I know it's on coefficients, but it's still better than we could ever dream of. I'm not saying the ukrainian league is on par with the Premier League, as far as I know it's ranked between 10th and 15th in europe, but it's by no means a toddler league.

As far as Rovers transfers are concerned, at this point I'll be content if no important players leave...

At least Hargreaves will give Vince some company...

Alan Smith has gone on loan to MK Dons. Mercermans info as accurate as usual

Lol !!!

I said "Heard from a Geordie friend that Alan Smith is a loan possibility for Rovers".

Well he was, I'm given to understand.

Maybe, MK Dons are more attractive !?!?

Anything I hear, whether it proves to be fact or fiction, goes on here. I'm not one of the "I know something but can't tell you brigade" - have a go at them.

Sorry it didn't work out, perhaps I'll give you my next horse racing tip where I seem to be more successful !

Botia is quiet highly rated in spain from what i hear.

WOuld be a good signing imo but

But is he an instant improvement on Samba. Instant as we cant wait for him to get upto speed given our current position.
