unless we can bring in a couple of quality players, unlikely i know, between now and tuesday then i think we are screwed going into the rest of the season with this squad minus samba or a samba who is up for the fight, more broken promises from our bullshitter owners/manager

Nathan clyne from crystal palace is worth a punt! out of contract in the summer so he'd be on the cheap and would solve our right back problems. and what about roman pavchenko from spurs

Clyne would be worth a shout. thought we should have sign him last summer.

Roman wants to go back to Russia

I think we would have to join a que for Clyne. Top Player though. This is perhaps the most depressing window since the summer of Ince. I'm bracing myself for the worst and preparing rules for Transfer window drinking bingo on Tuesday.

1. Half a pint every time Harry Redknapp interviewed in his car.

2. One whisky for every transfer involving Rangers or Celtic.

3. A sambucca everytime a Stoke fan flicks V's at the camera outside the Brittania

4. And a shot of bleach for every time a member of Rovers first team squad is sold.

We lost to Bolton and Wolves at home, not sure why anyone would assume we'll outperform them

Strange logic...Liverpool have just beaten Man Utd and Man City this week but I don't expect anyone would put any money on them having a better run-in than the teams they beat.

As for the head to heads, we've beaten Arsenal and Man Utd. but that doesn't mean we will outperform them now does it? As bad as we are/have been, I wouldn't swap our squad for the ones at Wigan, Wolves or Bolton...so out of interest, would you?

We've been here many times before and make no mistake we are in a bad position but I honestly think we will scrape up again and all this talk that we are doomed already is extremely premature. Apart from captain commitment, there is recently a sense of fight and desire in Rovers, if they keep that up they'll be fine.

Topman how many naked women avatars do you have seems to be a new one every 2 weeks it is making my head spin. I would not pay any attention to that Samba to NUFC rumour that tweet has now been taken down as well as the Hoilett to Bolton for 4M. I very much doubt Samba will go unless someone puts 15M on the table remember what happened with Phil Jones. I very much doubt they will be made a monkey out of in the transfer window however much Samba sulks and I praise them at least for taking this stance and hope now Samba discovers the error of his ways and knuckles down.

Nathan Clyne being linked with Wolves for £2m. Really good right-back at a bargain

price. Zaha being linked with Bolton, again an excellent player. Maynard also going cheap as he's out of contract. Personally i'd sell Samba and buy those three, with a cheap CB thrown in. I really should be in charge

On paper, we may have a decent squad (I don't think we have but that's my opinion) but without a decent manager, we don't have them organised properly. Our midfield is in dire, dire need of improvements. With a couple of days left of the last chance to bring in new faces, we have just given a new contract to David Dunn.Without proper funds being made available and/or decent management, relegation is nailed on (i.e. almost certain). If it were Norwich, Wigan or Burnley in our exact position, I would say they were certain for relegation. That's not negativity, it's reality.

I will reply , I have been watching BRFC for a long time ,this squad we have is poor , very poor with SAmba and Hoillet..Our results over the last 14 months suggest only one thing to me ...We have owners and a manager who are not worthy of their respective positions ..I do not want Rovers to be relegated far from it .It could be classed as negative but also realistic ..We need at least 2 premier quality players now to hit he ground running ..We also have to keep our best players ....

I am extremely concerned about the position of the club, but when the calculators come out, and we need other teams to do us favours; I will admit "we are nailed on for relegation"

The reality is we are passing the middle part of the season in the relegation zone, and I understand the the concern at this. It is something that really scares me, the implications of dropping out of the league. We do have somethings going in our favour though, decent run of form, a few players making tracks to return from injury and being a bit biased, I would say we are easily more capable of grinding out the necessary results. This is why I would disagree with anybody who says we are "nailed on" for relegation. The league is a fickle strumpet. The number of strange results this season hints that anybody can beat anybody - and I'd fancy our players over the host of mentioned teams.

I hesitate to mention, we would be tenth in the league if we had 3 more wins under our belt, aka Everton at home, Bolton at home and West Brom at home (all teams we should be beating). I'm not convinced that this was a true reflection of our squad, more the problems that you mention in terms of having a decent manager.

I would say that we are in dire need of some better results, but I doubt that we need to add too much to the squad. Solid organisation, Protection for the back four and keeping our key players fit will ensure safety in my opinion. I think Eric Black will be prepared for this, and the one feather in SK's cap, he has experience managing in a relegation fight...

Sorry to see positives if it offends anybody...

I agree with some of that but Kean definatly doesnt have THAT feather, we were just sinking from the position Sam got us into.

If we had of started this season with a few decent results it could have been different but we have been terrible it took to january to string any sort of performances together under Kean so its hard to have faith that we wont just fall back to how we have been for the rest of the season.

I fear the worst the fact after Keans first run of results we are still in the relegation zone doesnt bode well.

i'am really dissapointed with how the tranfer windows gone so far. what i would of done is sell hoilet to spurs for 3million plus do santos bring in apphiah on the the free and buy clyne For 4 million (if venkys are willing to through 2 million in to the fee) and get modest on loan with an option to buy. when the window ends we would all be quite happy with that. but so far we've only got modest. But you know what we are like on tranfer deadline day you never know.....

Anything that involved spending actual cash, even after player sales was never going to happen. Any money generated won't go into buying players - we all accepted that years ago, prevenkys. Money generated goes first into keeping the banks off our back, especially now banks are so jumpy, then if there's any left it plugs other holes in the finances, then and only then does a bit trickle into the transfer pot. Why should that change this window. and a player swap was never going to happen - they very rarely do nowadays.
