Nice to see form Orr`s tweet, that we have finally moved to a one day medical, rather than the two day fiasco last window !!

Yeah. Vince Grella had a one hour medical.unsure.gif

So when is this 'meltdown' coming then? One thing the exec/management mob at Rovers must be doing well is stopping the reported stampede of players who are wanting to leave. If they can just squeeze Andrews out the door before 11pm then I'll be delighted with the outgoings (or lack of quality players who have left). Less happy with the incomings of course but it would suggest there has been some scare-mongering re sales.

Good old Mercerman. If he told me it was 2012 I'd check the calender.

To be fair, I have no problem with Mercerman posting the rumours heard from his bookie on here. Good fun and generally delivered in a 'here's a bit of gossip for you' way. What has irritated me a bit this last few days is the comments on various forums from people trying to draw a protest at Ewood/Brockhall today on the basis of a meltdown that was due to occur today and due to an apparant flood of high profile players leaving. When the people making these claims have been asked they don't seem to back this up in any way.

I'll be honest and say I expected this transfer window to see at least a few first-teamers leave and consign us to probable relegation. So I was happy to express my concern and frustration. This does not appear to have happened when it could have done and I am wondering on what basis some of the recent doomsday statements were made. If its just a case of some people being wrongly informed then fine. But it does feel like there may have been some embellishment.

Even if Harry ends up signing Samba at 8am tomorrow (documents were in the post) then I still don't think it would be as terrible as some have tried to make out.

Correct. Been wondering about the so called firesale, mad dash out the club. Even the bank appear to have allowed rovers to sign two players, plus one on loan. Not the best of players. But may prove that the bank problems MAY not be as bad as some have said. There are problems. But where has the money come from to pay these additional wages. Just a thought.

Nelsen to Spurs?

Eh?

Just posted this in the Samba topic:

Redknapp also says he could not let Steven Pienaar goes back to Everton because he has too many injuries and has revealed that Wolves want to sign Sebastien Bassong but he will need to complete a deal for an unnamed defender before he lets that one go through.

Is there a joke I've missed? It's not Nelsen surely?

I would imagine the Roberts and Andrews transfer fees and wages have helped.

Bizarre, but overall actually probably a good deal for us. He's 34, injury prone and probably on a decent wage. Realistically he's also probably our 4th choice CB if Samba stays and is focused enough to play (which we all have to assume that he will be). Strange move for Spurs, but a good way to cut ties for us.

We really should block that deal. Losing one of our players and at the same time strengthening a relegation rival. I expect Spurs won't be paying us a transfer fee...
