(Please don't use that word again) off. :angry2:

Seriously, that's not on at all. From that moment Kean sniffed the opportunity to get the job, he's lied, grovelled and arselicked his way through every defeat and every horrendous performance.

Even to this day he continues to lie through his back teeth, name drop and treat every media interview as a direct plea to Desai to keep him in the job. Those comments he made today about having a young team are only serving one purpose - to try and preserve his position.

He can leave any time he wants, but he's instead choosing the strangle the life out of the club. He's a parasite with no dignity at all.

I'm not absolving Venky's of anything, but don't come on here and say it's "not his fault" and people who blame him are "narrow minded", because it's complete ######.

Not his fault????????!!!! Jesus. My point was to keep things in perspective. Blame Kean yes, but he's not the biggest issue.

Kean's a useless manager and he's been incredibly manipulative. But Venky's have destroyed the club. I blame him for a multitude of things but surely the questions shouldn't now be aimed at Kean but at Venky's????? Surely they are the ones who are responsible for his hiring and for why he's still here now??? Surely Kean's faults, of which he has many, can only go so far to explain how terribly mismanaged this club is?? Of course Kean is to blame for why we're going to be relegated, of course there's no excusing the disgraceful run of results which he has presided over, but there has to be a wider acknowledgement that Kean is one of a number of problems which have all come about because of Venky's utter lack of direction, conviction and football knowledge.

If they allow themselves to be fooled by Kean's propaganda then that's their fault. Nobody should see through the rubbish he comes out with. People, quite rightly, accuse Kean of spinning every story to give Venky's a rose tinted version of events, but these people are adults. If they cannot see through it then who's fault is that????? They're not children after all.

People write about desperately wanting Kean to get fired as if that's going to change anything. The problems we have stem from the top down. You can change manager and the playing staff, but until things start to shake up from the top, it'll all be irrelevant.

Like i said i can always hope, but i do think we can get 7 points. I am going to try and be positive like Steve Kean.

I agree, Venkys are the big problem +1

I think we will beat fulham, get at least a draw/win at everton as i think at the moment they are worse than us, i also think at home we can beat newcastle. I will probably be totally wrong but i can always hope.

Did you think we would beat Bolton and West Brom at Home? Stoke at home? Did you think we would get anything at Sunderland and Stoke away. Did you think we would beat Wigan away. Haven't you learnt yet that other sides in this league are better than us whilst we are managed by someone who is not up to the job.

You think we are going to get half as many points in 3 games than we have achieved all season in 20 games.

I don't know how old you are Pitty and if you have properly experienced relegation yet but start accepting it now. It will make it easier. The squad is barely good enough to stop up. Under Kean, The Slumdogs and Hewhocannotbenamed, we have no chance.

I am 30, and yes i have seen the championship, cups wins, playoff final, relegation. You are probably right and we will prob get one point but not that bothered about todays defeat and some part of me thinks we can do something in the next 3 games

Beat Fulham???? Did you not see them against arsenal. Zamora always scores against us and so will Ruiz, Dembele and dempsey....we'll need at least 3 to win. They have a good attack and we have a terrible defence.

Too many players didn't look interested. The manager remains clueless and the owners deluded. Newcastle ought to have buried us by half-time they missed so many chances. As for Vukcevic's chicken-hearted attempt to win the ball when Newcastle scored the winner - words fail me. Then again Ben Arfa walked past four or five Rovers players as if they weren't there for Newcastle's opener. The gulf between the Rovers and teams like Newcastle seems to be growing ever wider. We need massive investment if we are to survive and sadly, we aren't going to get it.

Anyone who thinks this manager and these players can avoid relegation is deluding themselves. Too many of these players simply didn't look in the least bit bothered and at times we struggled to get out of our own half today. Don't be fooled by the late Newcastle goal. Any result other than a Newcastle win would have been daylight robbery.

Don't forget that the FA cup this season is sponsored by budweiser so awaiting Kean's excuse that somebody spiked the result

Someone please tell me why we persist with the away kit when the famous blue and white halves is more than adequate at places such as Old Trafford and St James'. There was more of a clash with the Toon kit wearing the yellow and black today.

It's to negate the yellow & black protest.

Kean:

"But I felt as though our first half performance was excellent. Steven Nzonzi and Radosav Petrovic controlled the game in the middle of the pitch and I thought we were certainly worthy of at least being a goal up - possiby two".

My money's on your version Parson.

I feel like I've seen a few goals recently were our players have just stood and watched the opposition bring the ball near our goal for a free shot - especially late on.

Odd.

Has Anderson gone?

The linked article says Jerome Anderson has gone. Can't find any other sources which confirm him leaving, but it's good riddance if he has gone.

Apparently Anderson hasn't been pulling any strings since last summer. I dont know the guy but I know people who do, and he's not meant to be on the scene any more.

I've not seen that quote den. It's just staggering that the man can come out with stuff like this. Petrovic would have made more of a contribution if he'd been sat in the stand supporting the team. He did nothing on the pitch and Nzonzi, who I really rate, had a shocker by his standards and looked completely disinterested.

After a year in charge now, I think it's fair to say that Kean is a significant part of the problem, he hasn't proved good enough.

Strangely enough he (or whoever is recruiting for him) has recruited a lot better than Sam and his contacts imo - Rochina could be absolutely top class handled correctly imo, Formica is decent enough, Jermaine Jones ultimately proved a huge success whilst he was here and Yakubu for 1.5m must be the best piece of transfer business for many a year. Considering we have been shopping at the lower end of the market we haven't done badly at all. Only Goodwillie for me looks completely out of his depth.

The over-riding reason for us being in the position we're in though is that there's been no net investment in the squad for the past eight or nine years or so. I used to argue with John Williams years ago that failing to strengthen would have only one eventual outcome and that's where we're at now. The blame for that situation primarily lies with the Walker Trust, they left the squad in such a sorry state that relegation would have been inevitable sooner rather than later, although some poor decision making by Venky's undoubtedly seems to have accelerated the process a year or two. It needed whoever succeeded the Trustees to spend around 100m in one lump to bring the squad back up to speed and The Raos don't appear to have either the pockets or inclination to do that.

Oddly enough, having made imo one or two decent acquisitions we're only a quality midfield destroyer, a specialist left back and maybe another decent striker to partner Yakubu away from being a good side - the balance clearly isn't quite there at the moment.

Overall the situation does look extremely bleak, with a wage bill running at roughly 85% of turnover John Williams and the Walker Trustees didn't set up a scenario designed to bounce back in the event of relegation. Where that model failed is you ultimately can't expect to finish 9th or 10th simply by paying the 9th or tenth highest wages you also need to be 9th or tenth in terms of transfer fees spent as well. If you are bottom of the transfer spend table with a nil or negative outlay ultimately you will run out of quality and in the meantime refusal to replace means you get sucked into a vicious and never ending cycle of wage increases for ageing underperformers such as MGP, Dunn, Nelsen, Roberts, Salgado etc.

No matter what happens in the long run, I'll still be there, it's still my Club no matter who the owners are or what division we're in although it's a crying shame to see Jack's legacy dwindle away primarily due to lack of interest from his own family.
