TugaysMarlboro Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Nicko says Samba's not playing today. Is that it? Indeed. However, the back 4 looks pretty good in my opinion.
Devon Rover Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Indeed. However, the back 4 looks pretty good in my opinion. Salgado, Hanley, Givet, Olsson? Have you seen the team sheet, then?
Shabani Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 When was the last time we had an interesting/exciting 3rd round draw? I cant remember getting excited about 3rd round day for a while tbh 0-3
MarkBRFC Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Probably Blyth away 3 years ago, cant see anything good for rovers today, comfy 2-0 for the barcodes.
cn174 Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 When was the last time we had an interesting/exciting 3rd round draw? I cant remember getting excited about 3rd round day for a while tbh 0-3 Blyth was an ace day out until the actual game which was bloody awful!!
Backroom Tom Posted January 7, 2012 Backroom Posted January 7, 2012 Rovers: Bunn, Henley, Givet, Hanley, Olsson, Vukcevic, Nzonzi, Petrovic, Peds, Rochina, Goodwillie Not happy that Olsson is being risked to be honest, fine otherwise
frosty Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Bunn; Henley, Hanley, Givet, Olsson; Vukcevic, N'Zonzi, Petrovic, Pedersen; Rochina, Goodwillie.
Shabani Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Mark Bunn Henley Hanley Givet Olsson Vukcevic Nzonzi Petrovic Pedersen Rochina Goodwillie Subs - Kean Morris Lowe Blackman Formica Slew Yakubu
youandwhosearmy Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Hmm why not play that player who isn't for sale and won't be sold....?
frosty Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Bench - Jake Kean, Morris, Lowe, Blackman, Formica, Slew, Yakubu.
Amo Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Hahaha! Still no place for the deadly duo - Myles and Ribiero.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Rovers: Bunn, Henley, Givet, Hanley, Olsson, Vukcevic, Nzonzi, Petrovic, Peds, Rochina, Goodwillie Not happy that Olsson is being risked to be honest, fine otherwise I wouldn't have played Olsson either, it's just stupid. He should be on the bench.
Miker Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Shame Morris wasn't given a start. Thought he looked good against United.
joey_big_nose Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Hmm why not play that player who isn't for sale and won't be sold....? To be fair it could be because we desperately need him and Yakubu to stay fit. But then Yakubu is on the bench..... Team is interesting. Quite like the look of it. -----------------------Bunn --Henley----Hanley----Givet----Olsson Vukcevic---Nzonzi----Petrovic---Pedersen ------------Goodwillie---Rochina With Tiote and Ba unavailable its not outside the realms of possibility that we could snatch something. Our full backs are going to provide a hell of a lot of width. Pace to burn...
Rishton blue Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Blyth was an ace day out until the actual game which was bloody awful!! Blyth was bloody freezing I know that!

Our full backs are going to provide a hell of a lot of width. Pace to burn... Was thinking the same, especially if Rochina plays well in a free role behind Goodwillie. Would have also liked Morris instead of Olsson but hopefully he'll come on at some point. Reckon this could be a good game if we get the service right from the flanks to Goodwillie - who has a big chance to shine in my opinion. It certainly has the feel of a no pressure game so we'll probably do alright!
Blue n White Rover Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Blyth was bloody freezing I know that! The game Carlos 'kickaball' Villanueva came to life.
gumboots Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 To be fair it could be because we desperately need him and Yakubu to stay fit. But then Yakubu is on the bench..... But then you don't usually sub your defenders unless you need to but you quite often rotate strikers and Yakubu is the only striker we have at the club really so we do need to have him on the bench whereas we could probably play with a makeshift centreback
Amo Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 He's just bagging up his excuse so that when Olsson limps off and we've lost he can say: "Well, we had to bring wee Morris on as we're short on the ground."

Our full backs are going to provide a hell of a lot of width. Pace to burn... The defence does look okay (although I would like to see Samba instead of Hanley) but the midfield..... That must be one of the slowest/laziest midfields ever sported by a Premiership side. If Dunn played instead of Pedersen on the left wing it would be complete. The most obvious liability of course being Petrovic, who despite moving at a snail's pace from the off will find a way to slow down even further as the end of the game approaches. I can see Newcastle running straight through the midfield and applying more and more pressure as the game drags on.

I take a guess that MGP is the slowest midfielder we have got.
LeChuck Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 It could easily be a 4-3-3 with Vukcevic and Rochina playing wide of Goodwillie. Away from home I would say it's more likely than the 4-4-2 formation with Pedersen on the left.
