Mike Graham Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 And of course by buying Samba they get 2 for 1. Their defence gets strengthened and their relegation rivals -that would be us - get considerably weakened. Bit like when we bought Shearer, Duncan Shearer to nip Swindon in the bud. That of course was a promotion not relegation tussle, but losing Samba to a relegation rival would be a severe blow. Lets ope Arry needs him more. why would Samba stop? Going to QPR he would be joining a club with ambition and he gets a nice big wadge of dosh himself.

Mattyblue Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Games in Europe and Cup semi-finals....oh the memories! Aye, we've had some fantastic times. The Sparky era being one of my favourites considering the financial constraints he worked under. That cup run that took in Salzburg, Kracow, Leverkusen (who stayed in Cologne?), the thousands of Blues in Amsterdam before the Feyoonord game. 'Memories... of the way we were'.

roverbuli Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I don't usually post, but having scanned the responses so far, I've yet to see someone raise this point. While the joint statement is very much appreciated, I think in some ways it misses the mark. There are segments of the media who do not understand why Steve Kean needs to go, but it's really no great mystery when you consider our league position and his dismal record. The issue for some observers, I think, is not why the protests are taking place, but how they are taking place. The most common adjective used to describe the matchday protests has perhaps been "vitriolic", while I've seen words like "poisonous" and "abuse" being thrown around. As the Guardian notes: "Yes, he must go ... and be sent on his way by an angry mob of mouth-foaming grown, adult men who sprint down the steps of stands to scream poisonous personal abuse at somebody because he's not very good at his job. That's the only acceptable, dignified alternative to smiling, clapping and carrying on watching a club 'die', apparently." http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/dec/31/manchester-united-blackburn-rovers-report I think the escalation in the tone of the protests is perfectly understandable given the increasing desperation and frustration of the fans, and given Venky's lack of communication. When you think you're not being heard, it is natural to want to louder. But at the same time, the statement could do with a pledge to keep our protests respectful, and perhaps even apologize for those who go too far out of line. It will add further balance and context to an already excellent statement.
Mattyblue Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Nobody in the press has ever explained what is 'poisonous' abnout repeatedly shouting 'KEAN OUT'.
alexanders Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 aye....went to them all, Mypa (Finland), Sofia etc etc etc: thanks Venkys for screwing my Club, thanks "the Pig" Anderson for robbing my Club thanks Kean for being an incompetent lying barsteward for making my Club a laughing stock The feyenoord throwing beer at Gamst.
bob fleming Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 The feyenoord throwing beer at Gamst. Yes but in all fairness it was alcohol free. So nothing really wasted.
roverbuli Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Nobody in the press has ever explained what is 'poisonous' abnout repeatedly shouting 'KEAN OUT'. Is that all there was? Or was there a "minority" (sorry) that went further?
bob fleming Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Is that all there was? Or was there a "minority" (sorry) that went further? One bloke threw a Rovers shirt at him, I heard it was XL as well. "Carnage" is the word we're after.
thenodrog Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 There was not a cat in hells chance of Mark coming to Rovers with these bloody Indians (Cowboys) in charge. Course there was. He's just another hired gun who will go to the highest bidder. Unfortunately our lot are obviously not in the same league financially as most other owners and certainly not up there with Fernandez.... Not that that is necessarily a criticism from me (for once).
USABlue Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Reading the transcript of the JA interview, is that ASSHOLE trying to say the protests are racially motivated. The man knows no bottom does he.
purplegrover Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 One bloke threw a Rovers shirt at him, I heard it was XL as well. "Carnage" is the word we're after. The shirt hit Coco on the head and messed up his hairstyle.... Would "Bloodbath" trump "Carnage ?"
thenodrog Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Reading the transcript of the JA interview, is that ASSHOLE trying to say the protests are racially motivated. The man knows no bottom does he. I should think he'll know Balaji's very well.... and probably Thaksin Shinawatra's too.
SouthAussieRover Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Good one Gordon. Time for another joint statement from the supporters, this time including Jack Straw,Wayne Wild etc. It's purpose being to rebut the barrow boy's outtageous and slanderous comments.
SouthAussieRover Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Reading the transcript of the JA interview, is that ASSHOLE trying to say the protests are racially motivated. The man knows no bottom does he. Apparently he is. Congratulations on getting away with calling him an asshole:). My post calling for a statement from supporters including Straw,Wild etc to rebutt these slanderous claims was deleted. So does that mean a particular agent has evidence to back up such statements or just deep pockets re legal action?
Consequence Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Reading the transcript of the JA interview, is that ASSHOLE trying to say the protests are racially motivated. The man knows no bottom does he. Is there anywhere I can read a transcript of the interview please?
