I have said all along there are reasons for protesting. But they will not move venkys.

This makes brags approach wrong, as they will not acheive their aims. As it is not working, you have to change tact.

Change tact to what? We know they don't like to reply to letters or emails.

Why is it not working, were you expecting an instant reaction?

One thing is for sure, they are very proud of their brand. The more it gets tarnished the more they will want to disassociate themselves from us IMO.

I remember last year reading a report in which one of the Raos predicted the VH Group may go through tough times due to the global economic climate - recent financial results (net profits I think it was) back that up, they are going through a tough period - http://www.moneycontrol.com/news/results/venkys-q3-net-slumps-81fallpoultry-realizations_664990.html

They have not moved (publicly) yet however it can take time - the enormous cost of owning us is something they didn't not realise until it happened.

It is difficult to work out if anything is going on, becasue of the complete silence - if they can establish a clear and viable exit plan, they may be persuaded to sell IMO. However that could be easier said than done.

Very revealing article. This is a particular quote I found interesting:

'Instead, having worked her way up every ladder in the organisation, she is a great believer in delegation. “Give people the freedom to function, take initiative and decisions and they will outperform themselves and develop a sense of belonging for the organisation,” she says with confidence.'

Probably explains why kean has so much power and is unsackable.

I also found this bit v. interesting: “Father constantly told us that complacency is the worst thing to happen to anyone and that only companies who constantly innovate and remain proactive to the needs of the market can retain their leadership position."

Well, Madam, you are certainly coming across as complacent to the English footballing community.

Totally agree. But in my view, their advisors at the time had their own agenda. Venky's listened to dodgy advise, basically because they knew no different and still know no different. They probable realise now, they made a mistake in getting rid of JW etc. They won't admit it to us. But they also know they cannot turn the clock back and get them back in again. But being ignorant of the football business they do not know who to turn to for advice or even who to trust.

Their pride gets in the way of a lot of things. But, ironically their pride will mean they do not want to fail. Even though they are already failing in this business. They will either find the right advisors or they will let the club go on their own terms. Where they are seen to be doing a good thing and not as failures.

This is a very sensible post, PAFELL...I think that we definitely do need to scratch their backs a little bit to get them to warm up to the idea of selling the club to a local organization that cares for the club deeply. this will allow them that out which they can use to say they are doing the good and responsible thing without coming off as failures (in their own world view and that of their marketing and PR people).

Awesome concept that has proven true on countless occasions in uncounted organizations, but why didn't she follow that one with the former board????

But they appear to be doing just that by openly supporting a contingency plan to save the Club in case the worst happens...but you totally slammed them for that. I have read their public statements and agree that they were not worded well under the circumstances, and even that the outside perception of their motives may have a question mark put on them due to that support. But really, what else are they to do? They are trying to be as open as they can about getting Venkys out, which really is their only agenda, that and seeing that any owner who would come in has the proper intentions.

Unfortunately, she followed that with Steve Kean instead, and got rid of those who were in his way.

Yes they will.

Were you not telling us months ago that once the crowd turned on the manager, he'd be gone?

The one thing Venky's have shown is an unwillingness to bend to the will of others. Getting more out of Man Yoo for Jones, The exectutive floor at Ewood emptied, 6 million for Bambi, Hoilett not getting whatever he wanted in his contract, the old high-earners sidelined and shipped out, Kean getting a new contract and Samba being sent to the naughty chair are all indicative to me of people who will not be seen to be pushed around.

It is baffling. If they had stuck with the former board and manager, we would be in mid table security by now and wouldn't have made a massive financial loss last year. They really have brought this on themselves. The only reason I can think of for not being loyal to the previous regime is that mrs d didn't appoint them.

You are right. These people won't be bullied into anything. A dignified exit is the only way these people will depart. That's why it's important the ff, the two ian's and wayne wild have all been very dignified in their approach to venky's. If you upset them or try and bully them they they will never speak again. That's why I don't think venky's will ever publically address the fans again or come to another match.

you are starting to waffle now pafell

:P

A slight divergence I know but totally relevant IMO

Whilst we're all debating of the pro's and cons of investing £1,000 to save the club, all well intended.

Would I be correct that we've all bought our tickets for City on 25th and we'll have 7 or 8,000 cheering Rovers on?

If not , why not?

How much is a ticket there these days, out of curiosity?

Yes they will.

And that's my view too. It just won't occur as quickly as it ought.

Just because Venkys have gone completely quiet doesn't mean they are not rattled. Ran away at half-time at Wigan and never seen again!

Something will have to give somewhere along the line.

dont know if this has been mentioned but heres a thought -

Mr Wild and co want to try and sort a fans buyout from the venkys. The venkys will not be selling due to stubboness. So why not propose to take %51 of the club over leaving the venkys with %49 of the club taking a backseat like there doing now, this leaves us running the club with the proper fit directors, chairman etc, and venkys keep their named brand as part of this football club. Has any1 thought about this kind of proposal to the venkys?? or has it all been sell sell sell and clear off. I would say this is probably the only way thats got maybe any chance of happening.

(I dont know whether this was the right thread to post this on so sorry if it isnt)

Ruggles, I mentioned this as the only alternative a few pages back, but I don't see this happening now given everything that's happened. Communication has been severed.

In essence, I think this may have been the plan in October last.

A great strategy in my opinion, best all round and a potential win win.

The Club run properly from Blackburn but managed on behalf of the owners with a clear mandate to communicate openly and honestly with all concerned.

Blackburn folk accept all isn't always rosey but would accept honesty and integrity whether it be good or bad. We are not fools, nor do we suffer fools gladly.

I think all concerned are collectively responsible for making crass errors but I can't understand why nobody has the humility to hold their hand up.

In the current regime there has never been any honest communication and simplistic as that may seem, therein lies the problem. What has followed is people then form their own answers and solutions based on hypothesis, Chinese whispers kick in and the snowball rolls and grows and here we are now.

I may have waffled a bit but how different would things have been had Venkys communicated properly and under promised and over delivered? Or then having initially acknowledged mistakes, corrected them and communicated accordingly and moved on. I guess then they would have earned the respect of the Blackburn public, rather than as would appear, they expected it irrespective, which would never happen.

Who in their right mind would want to get into bed with the Venkys?
