Were you not telling us months ago that once the crowd turned on the manager, he'd be gone?

Yes and he will, but I didn't say it would happen straight away [to be fair, I didn't think it would take this long]. You might have noticed my continued references to the ultimate protest. When the fans don't turn up any more they will either change tack, or take the club under. They'll change tack.

To argue that all the media hype/protests aren't working is wrong. At the moment the Raos have just retreated back to Pune because of them - which is the wrong choice. Eventually, assuming results don't change and the pressure is kept on them, they will change.

To argue that protesting against them is having no effect doesn't stand up. It might not be having the desired effect at the moment, but it is having an effect.

To argue that the protests/media hype is making matters worse is also wrong. The Raos are making matters worse, not the protests/bad publicity. They either change, or the fans walk away and the club goes under.

Plus it would be a quite unprecedented to have the same majority controlling owner of two clubs...talk about conflict of interest! Don't think the Premier League would ever let that fly.

I'm pretty sure it's against the rules anyway, even if the clubs aren't in the same league.

Wasn't Abramovich in trouble a few years ago because his oil company were sponsoring a Russian team and pumping lots of money in, which was being deemed as a way of owning the club without actually having his name to it?

I know it's not allowed but did wonder if there were ways round it like a separate company being set up to own one although even that might be stretching the rules. Certainly the way Kamy worded his post sounded like they would come back to look at us again when they had bought villa, but as I said, slightly more detail about what went wrong with us is more likely what they will release.

Well, as soon as Kamy clears it up we'll know! I raised this point in my initial post by the way.

According the sporting committee's latest discussion (The one Graham Jones MP made his speech in) there are several cases of the PL/FA not knowing the ultimate ownership of clubs at all due to convoluted corporate structures and investment vehicles. Therefore it is of course possible to hide the true identity of ultimate ownership in the current operating climate, which is absolutely ridiculous, in my opinion. It is a breeding ground for corruption and shady and obscure dealings.

You're right 47er, you did mention that, so thumbs-up.gif to you! :)

How come the Qataris haven't taken over Villa yet? Or was it Everton?

Again, if they were really intent on owning a PL club, why has it gone so quiet? I doubt it took them this long to takeover Malaga or PSG.

Maybe they waiting to see if we survive and retain premiership status ... as we are the most value for money club with deep-rooted history and they can proudly announce "FORMER PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS" OR "BRING BACK TO FORMER GLORY" its a fairytale romance ... and buy us in summer with time to overhaul us ...

Such a cliche ...

Rovers the Beautiful Rose(Look at our Logo) in Distress , Captured by a Evil Venkys(Witch is a strong word) and Arabian Knights come in rescue (Background song "Dessert Rose" by Sting)..... "Alarm Bell Ringing" Damn time to wake up....

Looks to me like this thread is petering out if after 54 pages of frankly speculative waffle (me included) we are now down to a fairy tale!!

Lets face it after months and months of trying -nothing and nobody has conjured a single word out of these numpty chicken fiddlers. If they do actually ever read any of this as we believe they may do then what does it take to get a single utterance from them??

This is just the most ridiculous situation anybody could ever imagine.Even Keano's references to 'the owners' seem to have died so are they in touch with anybody at all in our solar system???

Hey you! Take It Back, don't be Burning Bridges. We might be Marooned at the wrong end of the league, and although we are currently Poles Apart, One of These Days there will be a Time when Venkys have finished Learning To Fly it will stop being Us & Them.

All we need is High Hopes and a bit of Money even if One Slip and we'll be relegated - and then there'll be Sorrow.

Until we know if it's Absolutely Curtains or If we are One Of The Few to make The Final Cut, we'll just have to keep on banging our heads against The Wall.

Have spent almost the last two days in Glasgow and to be honest, with what's going on at Rangers and the issues at Rovers, I've almost fallen out with football.

It's all accentuated a bad taste in my mouth and reinforced a view that money is ruining, or has ruined, our game.

Have decided that until sanity returns to our game and good, old fashioned principles are adhered to, then I'm finished with it.

Good luck mercer, you may find you are happier away from it, many have and all power to them.

I find myself more distanced from it then Previously through no desire of my own.

There are a lot of good old fashioned things I am missing too. Good hard tackling, getting up and carrying on when clattered, not moaning at the ref for every decision against, not rolling around on the ground for every tackle, not holding and holding and holding. Do NOT miss those short shorts though.

Kamy------this is possibly the 4th time I've asked this but can you please clear up the confusion surrounding your post of a few days ago.

When the Qataris had bought Villa, what, if anything, do they have in mind for Rovers? I read your post to mean that they'd come back and look at us once that deal was concluded.

Is this what you meant to say? If you don't want to answer this question could you just say so?

your obedient servant etc.

Send him a pm - that way you might get an answer. He may not have time to read every thread to spot the question addressed to him.

I can't speak on behalf of Kamy, but from when I'm told, when the Qatar lot buy Villa (note Kamy told me this, then PhilipL confirmed it, probably 3 months ago), they will then release a statement RE rovers as the Venky statement made their purchase of Villa hard work.

Now none of this has happened, but I did notice Lerner had bought up a load of Villa shares on the quiet. Is there an amount of shares needed to keep take overs out of the public eye?

I think kamy's post was once Qatar have completed the villa takeover. They will then explain what happened in their attempt to buy rovers.

There is no way that Qatar would look at rovers again after buying villa. As it would be illegal. The same person / group cannot own more than one club.

The thing I don't follow is at the time they were allegedly offering to buy Rovers, we were told if you don't snatch their arms off immediately, they move on. So how come they have spent 3 months working on trying to buy Villa and not moved on?

A bit like the M.G road thing, the only people to know or hear of the Quatari's were people on here

We're going round in circles though? We've said all that.

Your explanation may be right but thats not what Kamy said, I just want him to clear it up.
