chaddyrovers Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Hoilett isn't really a winger. that is where liverpool would play him imo. i thought all season that he should have been playing up front with yak. did great up front last season with roberts. hugh mistake by kean
Hughesy Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 My information is that Liverpool is his preferred destination and Kenny is interested!! How reliable is that info? Be gutted if he went there, but at least we would get compo for him.
roversfan99 Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 A team like Liverpool wouldn't let Hoilett get away with his lack of defensive responsibility, plus his crossing is very poor. Liverpool often face teams at Anfield wanting a draw, he is better in a counter-attacking team.
Kelbo Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 How reliable is that info? Be gutted if he went there, but at least we would get compo for him. Rliable? well I was told he would have gone in January but Liverpool would get him much cheaper in the summer!!
Eddie Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Not heard anything on the Marseille front and that would really surprise me. They had a good CL run, but that only termporarily covered a disastrous domestic season. They're not going to be in Europe next year, it would be a sideways step if ever I saw one.
budha Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Sideways step from Championship to a team that's likely to atleast challenge for a Champions League spot..
Clitherover Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 that would be bad as we would get small compo. I very much doubt we'd see a penny of that compo invested on players unless we are under different ownership by then. A move abroad would suit me better than watching him shine each week on Match of the Day.
Eddie Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Sideways step from Championship to a team that's likely to atleast challenge for a Champions League spot.. I'd be very surprised if Marseille challenge for the Champions League spots next year. Their finances are not great and already you can be certain that two of the French spots will once again go to PSG and Lille. After that they will have to fight for the remainder with Montpellier (who will almost certainly win the league this year) and the likes of Lyon and Bordeaux. Throw in that they won't be playing in any European competitions next year it makes it unlikely that they will be signing many big-name players. I'd rather play in the Championship than play for a side that finished 10th in Ligue 1.
chaddyrovers Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 QPR want him if they beat the drop http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/qpr-mark-hughes-wants-to-sign-810219
Backroom DE. Posted April 28, 2012 Backroom Posted April 28, 2012 I'd rather play in the Championship than play for a side that finished 10th in Ligue 1. Yeah, but if that Championship team is owned by Venky's and "managed" by Steve Kean suddenly Ligue 1 looks a lot better.
Backroom Tom Posted April 29, 2012 Backroom Posted April 29, 2012 Talk in Germany that Bayern Munich want him, I could see it.
Mozzer Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 hoilet is a talented guy - but a big club go for him - i just cant see it - hes far too lazy - he gets away with it at rovers because we have a clown in charge - needs to up his work rate to get a big move in my opinion
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 that is where liverpool would play him imo. i thought all season that he should have been playing up front with yak. did great up front last season with roberts. hugh mistake by kean That's why Liverpool are struggling, too many sqare pegs in round holes. He's not a winger, he's got no real appreciation of team play and his decision making out wide is poor. Playing off the front man is probably were he's at his best. Having said that only the really top sides can afford a luxury like that and even those teams don't play like that all the time..
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted May 9, 2012 Moderation Lead Posted May 9, 2012 I can't see him getting any playing time at Bayern. Why? Well if he plays out wide he's got to displace Robben or Ribery. If he plays in the middle, it's a case of displacing Schweinsteiger or Muller...
roverandout Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 dont rate muller, he is a better player than him in my opinion
adsfortheblues Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Oh my god reading just made a £5million bid for hoillet if he goes there ill be ###### off
cn174 Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Oh my god reading just made a £5million bid for hoillet if he goes there ill be ###### off Why would they pay £5m for someone who is free?
hesfromburn Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Why would they pay £5m for someone who is free? Someone who know he would never pick them so trying to force a deal???
roverandout Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 why you surprised? hes going anyway, i would be shocked if he went to reading anyway
chaddyrovers Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Oh my god reading just made a £5million bid for hoillet if he goes there ill be ###### off why do Reading have to bid for him when he is out of contract in 1 month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
beastlove Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Anyone else heard the rumour that kean gets 5% of any outgoing transfer? is this true
Sverre Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 I would gladly accept the five million offer from reading. Remember that he is on the free at the end of the season and lots of big clubs are circling around him already
