Mercer Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Looks like Ryan will play again but still looks some way off. Also, states that Villa game set him back long term. Oh, the folly. http://tvnz.co.nz/football-news/nelsen-optimistic-injury-4686273

Guest Rovers4Good Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Nice one another crock for our team half full of crocks when will it ever end? Not sure what sort of player he'll be when he gets back but i'm sure just like Dunny that he's on the other side of the hill and sliding very fast
hemustbemad Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Dear Mr Salgado, Nelsen et al Due to the current financial situation caused by the slowdown of The Clukin’ economy, we, the Owners has decided to implement a scheme to systematically dismantle the club. This scheme will be known as RAPE (Rovers Assets Pawned Early). Players selected to be RAPED can apply to the Board to be eligible for the SHAFT scheme (Special Help After Forced Transfer). Players who have been RAPED and SHAFTED will be reviewed under the SCREW program (Scheme Covering Rovers Elderly Wranglers ). A person may be RAPED once, SHAFTED twice and SCREWED as many times as the Owners deems appropriate. Only persons who have been RAPED can get AIDS (Additional Income for Dependents & Spouses) or HERPES (Half Earnings for Relegated Personnel or Early Severance). Obviously, persons who have AIDS or HERPES will not be SHAFTED or SCREWED any further by the Owners. Players who are not RAPED and are staying on, will receive as much SH1T (Steve’s Highly Informative Toss) as possible. The Owners have always prided itself in the amount of SH1T they gives out. Should you feel that you do not receive enough SH1T, please bring this to the attention of your Club representative. He has been trained to give you all the SH1T you can handle. Sincerely,...
A cup of beans Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 ....but will he play for the Rovers..... my information says he wont. he was fit in november and mid december.. so all this seems fishy to me! a disgraceful way to treat a loyal servant.
pedebumchin Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 I think he has a similar "injury" to Jason Roberts, Paul Robinson and Michel Salgado. Other than Chris Samba and Phil Jones who is no longer with us, those are all players that signed new contracts last January which were renegotiated by the newly appointed "Most popular man in Burnley".
Muddboy Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Interesting rumours on Twitter today (mentioned by Andy Cryer) about Ryan leaving Rovers when the window shuts tonight. However, he can't be that badly crocked if he played against Huddersfield in a behind-closed-doors friendly this afternoon. Even scored an own goal in a 3-1 win for Rovers! Hope he stays and can get himself fit.
2PAC 4 Blackburn Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 I think you will find he was one of the first senior players to say something out of line regarding what's going on with the club.
Mattyblue Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Has he? All I can remember is him blowing smoke up Kean's arse.
Backroom DE. Posted January 31, 2012 Backroom Posted January 31, 2012 Has he? All I can remember is him blowing smoke up Kean's arse. he did the same with Ince. Loyalty to the man in charge, I suppose.
2PAC 4 Blackburn Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Didn't see that coming, he's now off to Spurs. Wonder if we will get much?
John Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Don't leave like this Ryan Seems like most of the contracts old Jerome did last January really screwed us up.
Stuart Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Didn't see that coming, he's now off to Spurs. Wonder if we will get much? Whatever we save in wages.
A cup of beans Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Don't leave like this Ryan Seems like most of the contracts old Jerome did last January really screwed us up. as i said in my post on 13th jan.. and before.. this has been brewing for a while. he's been snubbed and was fit in november etc.. kean wanted him out and has got his way!
2PAC 4 Blackburn Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Zac, why did Kean want him out? Because he talked out of turn?
jim mk2 Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Sorry to see the departure of this player. Cracking defender in his pomp and an excellent character. I bet he cannot believe his luck at leaving the shell of a club he loved for one pushing for the Champions League.
Rover_Shaun Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Andrews to WBA, Nelsen to Spurs which means Bassong to Wolves You couldn't make it up What a mess
grizfoot Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 So we are letting a player go to another club so that a relegation rival can sign a defender from the team we are letting the player go to so that they have cover and can afford to let the player go.
A cup of beans Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Zac, why did Kean want him out? Because he talked out of turn? kean made it clear to nelsen he wouldnt play as 1st choice as soon as he signed scott dann... and has subsequently snubbed him!
Hughesy Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Whilst its annoying that Wolves have got Bassong on the back of this deal, Nelsen, Andrew & Roberts offer us very little nowadays. Andrews is Championship standard, Roberts too and Nelsen has been slowing down for the last 2 years and also picking up more and more injuries. Just look at what exactly they have offered us this season - very little. Nelsen is also now probably seen as our 5th choice centre back behind Givet, Samba, Dann & Hanley. They are all on big money, and they would all need to be shifted on IF we went down....I think its good financial planning. Just a shame nobody wants Grella.
jones_rover Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Upset that we won't even be able to say farewell to the bloke! He certainly gave me some fantastic memories the way he flew into tackles and led by example. One that sticks out in my mind is a cruncher that got us kick-started in the game against Burnley the other year. You will be missed Ryan!
Amo Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Didn't Nelsen sign a new contract last year with the rest of the old boys? That's why he's been frozen out.

Allowing Nelsen to go is another own goal from owners who seem to specialise in them. Clearly money is far more important to Desai than Premier League status. If we do get relegated, and personally I now think it's between Wolves, Bolton and ourselves as to who goes down with Wigan, at least we will have no-one to blame but ourselves. Allowing Nelsen to leave so that another relegation rival can strengthen their team is madness. Then again it's what we have come to expect from Desai and the Brothers Grimm. I'm actually beginning to feel sorry for Kean. With owners like these who needs enemies. They seem to be doing their best to ensure we get relegated.
sam_rovers Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 masterstroke by Venkys and Keano... Allow a relegation rival to get a better center half in... lets sign a right back who most likely isn't better than Lowe.. it all makes sense now
