McClarky Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Well earned point. I thought we had the edge overall but the 2nd half was really poor until the last couple of minutes when we had to defend. A game of few chances but we could easily have sneaked it.

jones_rover Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Good point, excellent performance but a game we should have won given our opportunities albeit clinging on a bit at the end! Shame one piece of woeful defending in the first half has cost us the three points. We should have scored at least a few goals today and I wish we had continued to press after the equaliser instead of taking what we had. Special mention has to go to Petrovic for me because I thought his passing was immense today! Long may it continue!
Rovers in America Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Got to say I liked what I saw out of Modeste in his short time. Closes down and strips the ball a few times late there. Seems he could cause some trouble up top.
joey_big_nose Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Wow, great performance today. Thought everyone played well. Our shape was good, not always that dangerous but we made chances and we retained the ball very well. Nzonzi was superb, impressed with Goodwillie who worked so so hard, Hoilett brilliant dribbling. Dunn could have had a hat trick. Robinson kept us in it at the end, but on balance we were the much better side throughout. Feeling optimistic. If we had Yakubu today you suspect we would have won...
Clitherover Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Good result, just checked the other results to see we are still not in the bottom three thanks to Villa, happy days!
barry_ Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 great to get something out of this... upwards and onwards!
Paul Mellelieu Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Well done lads. Three away games and no loses.
m1st Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Well, "taking the positives", a point's better than nowt, I suppose; and we're still [just] out of the relegation zone. However, the gap between us in 17th and WBA in 15th is now up to seven points.
EWOODACE1 Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 its looking like the bottom 4 now. maybe swansea will get pulled into it
emerton Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Very good all around performance for all the lads. Thought nzonzi was great as was dunny, jnr & the back four. Petrovic looked decent, a few poor passes hopefully wot overshadow a reasonable performance from him. Would like to see Martin get forward a little more next home game. COYB
Mercer Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Excellent point and could be crucial at the end of the season. Plenty of fight and effort - we have a chance.
patrickvalery Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Well, "taking the positives", a point's better than nowt, I suppose; and we're still [just] out of the relegation zone. However, the gap between us in 17th and WBA in 15th is now up to seven points. ignore
Stavros_BRFC Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 good performance. Deserved 6 points from our 2 outings with Everton and only got 1. still I am much more confident in our team's ability to stay up, than 2 weeks before
Backroom Tom Posted January 21, 2012 Backroom Posted January 21, 2012 There are still little glimmers of hope and that is more than we expected after Bolton
pick32 Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 did i just see a well organised rovers team, that black must be a genius , Think Steve Kean got it right today i might of put Rochina on for Pedersen at the end and maybe just maybe Petrovic isn't crap after all his ball distribution today was dare i say it tugay esc.
hesfromburn Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Still need to bring in 2 more quality players. right back/left back and a midfielder
Tugay-is-God Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 its looking like the bottom 4 now. maybe swansea will get pulled into it No chance, Swansea are a really good team with a strong back line.
Ossydave Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 I'm happy with that, good effort lads. I don't think Everton are safe from this relegation scrap either, they have been less than impressive on many occasions this season and with the injuries piling up they must be looking nervously over their shoulder. Nothing to fear against Newcastle now, if Fulham can give them a good hiding we should be able to see them off too. I fully expect them to batter us 5-1 now the way this season is going though....
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Well, "taking the positives", a point's better than nowt, I suppose; and we're still [just] out of the relegation zone. However, the gap between us in 17th and WBA in 15th is now up to seven points. Still a long way to go - with most teams still to play each other again - who knows which way this will go. Still no back to back win - but I would have taken a point prior to the match - and it looked like we were well deserving of at least that. Venky's need to back Kean in the transfer market now - even though still out of the bottom 3 - it is all far too close.
Pitty Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 I am one of Petrovic's biggest critics but i will hold my hand up today as i think he played a fine game, maybe there is hope for him yet. Same against newcastle please.
bigbrandjohn Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 We got to keep plugging away.. Every game is winnable. Fulham lose to us and then tonk Newcastle 5-2. QPR game will be massive. Let's raise the roof at Ewood next week. the manager deserves it, the owners dont, the players definitely do.
Clitherover Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 However, the gap between us in 17th and WBA in 15th is now up to seven points. It was always going to be a bottom five relegation mini league...
imy9 Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Well done lads! A superb display, definite passing and moving the last couple of games. That's a decent run of results, bring on QPR!
Mercer Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 I expect Bolton to beat Liverpool and we go back in bottom 3. That's the type of league it is now - expect the unexpected !
broadsword Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 3 from 5, simple as that/. Think it will be Wolves, Wigan and Rovers,
