Mercer Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Lots of confidence amongst the supporters given Everton's 'weakened' team today ! This works two ways, just as it did for us at Liverpool & Man U.. Heart says we will win but, unfortunately, head says Moyes' boys by at least two goals.

Backroom Tom Posted January 21, 2012 Backroom Posted January 21, 2012 I can't see us winning sadly but desperately hope I'm wrong. A draw would be a good result. Edit: Were Liverpool that weakened V us Mercer?
Mercer Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 I can't see us winning sadly but desperately hope I'm wrong. A draw would be a good result. Edit: Were Liverpool that weakened V us Mercer? Sorry, point I was trying to make is that we were weakened and few would have bet a nine bob note on us getting anything at all. Now Everton are 'weakened' and many are 'expecting' us to win !
Backroom DE. Posted January 21, 2012 Backroom Posted January 21, 2012 We never win matches we're expected to win, do we?
bedlum Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Is anyone in the peterborough area, game on in town at sportslounge, anyone fancy meeting up to cheer the boys on?
Backroom Tom Posted January 21, 2012 Backroom Posted January 21, 2012 Sorry, point I was trying to make is that we were weakened and few would have bet a nine bob note on us getting anything at all. Now Everton are 'weakened' and many are 'expecting' us to win ! Ah right, the point as you say goes both ways as a depleted team saw us get a result at Anfield whereas at United they had a depleted team which helped us take advantage
Mercer Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 'Weakened' Everton squad : Howard, Heitinga, Baines, Duffy, Neville, Gibson, Bilyaletdinov, Cahill, Drenthe, Fellaini, Saha, Donovan, Mucha, Anichebe, Stracqualursi, McFadden, Gueye, Vellios. So, we need to get at least three to win as Cahill & McFadden alaways net against us. Also, think Saha has a decent record against us and Baines alaways goes close. Anyone still feeling confident ?
Backroom Tom Posted January 21, 2012 Backroom Posted January 21, 2012 Donavon to score is nailed on and Cahill hasn't scored in over a year so we know what that means.
roversfan1 Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 A lot of the Evertonians I work with in Liverpool are about as confident in their side as we are in ours and most predicted a draw, same as me. If we get at them early and go and attack then they think that we have a chance with most pointing to Donovan and Drenthe (if he plays) as being the men who will cause us the most problems. They can defend but cant score and we can score but not defend!! Ill happily take a 1-1 now but dont think we will end up with anything. Keane cant win two games in a row and we cant keep a clean sheet.
barry_ Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Donavon to score is nailed on and Cahill hasn't scored in over a year so we know what that means. seriously? I know the role of a supporter is to hope for the best and expect the worse but YOUNG MAN!!! lets have some wind in your sails and optimism! COYB!!!!!!!!!!!
jimw1988 Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 #EFC Howard, Neville, Duffy, Heitinga, Baines, Gibson, Fellaini, Cahill, Anichebe, Donovan, Saha” #BRFC Robinson - Lowe, Dann Olsson, Givet - Hoilett, N'Zonzi Dunn, Pedersen, Petrovic - Goodwillie”
chaddyrovers Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 I'm very surprise that Hnaley not playing. been excellent in last few games.
Backroom Tom Posted January 21, 2012 Backroom Posted January 21, 2012 Hanley dropped despite being our most consistent player for the last month, that'll do his confidence a lot of good
Dan Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 This match always brings back memories of that match at Goodison in te title winning season. Two quick goals and then we battled to the win. Who can forget Hendry blocking that shot with his head? That's what we need today and the rest of the season, blood, guts, passion and commitment.
imy9 Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 We have still been conceding goals despite Hanley playing well, I would suggest that Dann and Givet is now our first choice partnership. Scared of Everton first 11 looks strong to me.
Tugay-is-God Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 We'd be much better off with Hanley in at centre back, Givet shifted out to left back and Olsson pushed up to left wing.
Al Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 #EFC Howard, Neville, Duffy, Heitinga, Baines, Gibson, Fellaini, Cahill, Anichebe, Donovan, Saha” #BRFC Robinson - Lowe, Dann Olsson, Givet - Hoilett, N'Zonzi Dunn, Pedersen, Petrovic - Goodwillie” Really think there should be a place there for Rochina. Miles better than Goodwillie. If not Rochina then Formica. Goodwillie would not have controlled that ball for the third goal last week like Formica did.
chaddyrovers Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 I'm pleased that Petrovic is playing again. thought he was playing very good last week till come off. Petrovic to score the winner
Stuart Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 I'm very surprise that Hnaley not playing. been excellent in last few games. I'm surprised that people are still surprised by anything at Rovers these days!
Mercer Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Staggered that Hanley dropped - has been improving rapidly. Would select him ahead of Dann now. Coco back to normal service.
Al Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 We'd be much better off with Hanley in at centre back, Givet shifted out to left back and Olsson pushed up to left wing. No. Ollson and Hoilett up the left are a potent combination and Givet is best at centre half.

joey_big_nose Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 No. Ollson and Hoilett up the left are a potent combination and Givet is best at centre half. Agreed. I think maybe Hanley should start ahead of Dann on current form. Does kind of show that if Samba goes it doesn't weaken us too much. Particularly interested to see how Pingu does up front and if Petrovic can impose himself in the middle of the park against a tight and physical team.
Doug Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Hanley should be playing for Dann. Goodwillie should be on bench (in a park somewhere)! Come on you blue boys!!!
