chaddyrovers Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 1 in - hopefully at least another 2 to follow I'm at least hoping for 3 more signings. box to box midfielder, right back and maybe left back or another striker
Mercer Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Modeste has signed now for Rovers http://www.rovers.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10303~2581795,00.html will he take the number 9 shirt? Slow news' night tonight Chaddy ? Another bench warmer I feel !!!
Sparky Marky Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 could he play in a 2 with Yakubu ? He's here to replace yakubu. His stock hasn't been this high for years...a decent bid Will come in. They'd sell him tomorrow ....
Steve Kean's Barber Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Ordinarily I'd be underwhelmed, but given the circumstances this isn't bad at all.
47er Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 1 in - hopefully at least another 2 to follow Ever the optimist Hughesy! 2 more bargain basement players possibly.
deryck guyler's spoon Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Ever the optimist Hughesy! 2 more bargain basement players possibly. Yep, just like under the last lot. Cheer up, at least it wont cost us our manager this time.
T4E Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 So if he's good we've got no chance of keeping him, if he's useless it's a wasted place in the squad. Let's hope he's great and keeps us up, that seems to be the most we can hope for.
Clitherover Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Anthony Modeste's statistics in Ligue 1 this season are here if anyone is interested. Anthony Modeste
Ricky Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 On a positive note 1 goal every 156 minutes is pretty good. Just looks liek he's not played a great deal which is a worry.
Stuart Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Mikey Delap (@MikeyDelap) 1/19/12 10:25 PM So we've got an upfront partnership of Modeste Goodwillie. That's how good we are... We're humble and boastful all at the same time. #Rovers
DeadlyDirk Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Pleasantly surprised by the signing. Have only seen bits of pieces of him but seems to have the right attributes that could see him causing a few problems in the premiership. Seems to have lost his way a little bit lately, maybe it can be a good move for him, hopefully he's hungry to prove himself. Is he in the squad for tomorrow?
Majiball Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 On a positive note 1 goal every 156 minutes is pretty good. Just looks liek he's not played a great deal which is a worry. Wicked so lets call that 1 in 2, now all we need are another 2 goals a match to ensure we get some wins.
patrickvalery Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 In amongst some hardcore decorating, i heard the French football expert(?) on Talksport talking about young Modeste. Lets just say his opinion of the lad was less than complimentary. I've looked for a link but can't find one. If anyone can be bothered (which i seriously doubt) it was on Hawksby and Jacobs this afternoon. I can summarsie though - he doesn't sound up to the job.
sns4ever Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Is he in the squad for tomorrow? No he isnt in the squad tomorrow. Not had long enough to train with the team. Same team as fulham game except Goodie in for Yak
Rovers_Dan Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Just read on sky sports he is on the bench??
Drover Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Just read on sky sports he is on the bench?? Could be worth throwing him on at the end. Unknown entity, and it's not like goodwillie will be effective for all of 90 minutes (if any)
hesfromburn Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Didnt do much today and didnt have the ball at his feet much though, did some odd leg flailing.
john.leigh Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Maybe I'm being harsh here after such a brief initial view on tv but would have to say I'm under whelmed. Not much impact.
Eddie Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 What we saw yesterday is a fairly good indication of what Modeste is. When he is up to speed and used to the game he will improve, but he is a player who's physical ability makes him a handful, but he has never learned how to fully harness that potential. He'll have a few games where he dominates, but a few where he looks lost.
Rovers_Dan Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Looked awful when he came on. Had a great shot that hit the corner flag too.
Backroom Tom Posted January 22, 2012 Backroom Posted January 22, 2012 In true Rovers fan style he will be written off by the next game
chaddyrovers Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 In true Rovers fan style he will be written off by the next game I know, why can't fans get him a chance. he hasn't even trained properly with the team mates. are these the same rovers fans who were writting off Yakubu when he signed.
BlueSue23 Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Come on give the lad a chance! I liked what I saw for the short time he was on the field. He needs a few weeks to settle in and train with the squad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
chris Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 In true Rovers fan style he will be written off by the next game sure you'll give him 9 months like Formica, Rochina and Petrovic because we really have time on our side.
