Majiball Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I'm going predict that we will keep a clean in the next three games and see a marked improvement to our organisation on the field...and not because Kean has suddenly inherited tactical skills. Are you high?

The best managers surround themselves with the best people. Hopefully he is learning this.
LeChuck Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Are you high? Sadly not. I just think Black will bring the tactical experience that we require to at least scrape a few clean sheets before the end of the season. I had previously said we'd go a full calendar year without a clean sheet if Kean and Clement remained until April.
yoda Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Can we still finish in the top 10? This is Blackburn, not Barcelone or fantasy island
Kendalrover Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I'm going predict that we will keep a clean in the next three games and see a marked improvement to our organisation on the field...and not because Kean has suddenly inherited tactical skills. I seem to recollect that some posters thought we had turned the corner when we signed Paul Clement and they got very excited by the super losing performances against top teams Spurs and Chelsea. We then started playing the 'winnable' games and the rest is history.
Mercer Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 It would take any new assistant time to make his mark. Too late for tomorrow but, hopefully, should have had some impact by the time we play the Geordies at home. Wish him well - at least he's used to, IMO, working with a numpty.

I had previously said we'd go a full calendar year without a clean sheet if Kean and Clement remained until April. We'll see over time but he is a good coach. I'm just not sure he'll have had much time to affect things in time for Everton. However you can never underestimate the power of a Scotsman, so who knows. Can we still finish in the top 10?
chaddyrovers Posted January 20, 2012 Author Posted January 20, 2012 Welcome to the Club, Eric Black. hope you stay longer than Jensen and Clement did. and help us with defending aswell. we need to keep clean sheets for sure to stay up this season! COYB!!!
Steve Moss Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 If Black can improve the team, more power to him. We need points. The best way to get them is sack Kean and install a decent manager, but if the chosen path is to improve on the quality of the no. 2, so be it. Any port in a storm.
BigAlan Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Black is a good coach, but ultimately he's only as good as the managers directives. It's ok saying about the relative success at Wigan and Brum, but when the manager fails so do the coaches. Jensen was poor. Results under Kean and Clement were as poor and he is an excellent coach. Look who he's gone working for. Like I said it really is all about the manager. I hope Kean has learned so much and is getting the hang of being a manager, I'm highly dubious though. I cant stand Kean an I'll never warm to him, but if the Rovers stay up then so be it.

booth Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 The best managers surround themselves with the best people. Hopefully he is learning this. That's a bit unfair on Eric Black. It's like saying he's rubbish because Kean appointed him.
Mattyblue Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 An updated version with the new picture on rovers.co.uk Just look at the variety of BRFC training wear.
Amo Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Just look at the variety of BRFC training wear. I think they've done that to throw us off.
John Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Like the tops In the Black photo the best. I love Stevie's smile.
Stuart Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 He's got a very round head though. Gives Karl Pilkington a serious run for his money.
EWOODACE1 Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 for the 1st time this season we dominated possession. could black have installed a passing game in 24hrs
joey_big_nose Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Got to be a very decent chance Brunce will get the job at Wolves..... what would this mean for our assistant manager?
chaddyrovers Posted February 13, 2012 Author Posted February 13, 2012 Got to be a very decent chance Brunce will get the job at Wolves..... what would this mean for our assistant manager? Fans don't want Bruce.
Hughesy Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Curbs name doing the rounds for Wolves job....so perhaps he is 1st choice? Bruce would be unpopular with the fans so cant see it
MI ROVER Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Curbs name doing the rounds for Wolves job....so perhaps he is 1st choice? Bruce would be unpopular with the fans so cant see it Asst Mgr No.4 come in please. BBC website reports Curbs out of the running Warnock gone to Leeds only Bruce left thus Black will follow.
davulsukur Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Only at Rovers, under Venkys (and kean) could we have to name our 4th assistant in 1 season
