Northern Rover

On Venky's share price tomorrow. Also had 2 calls from venky's PR who are not happy. #fightbackbegins.

Northern Rover

Direct Hit. The india article discussed on two flag ship business programmes in India, analysts savage Venky's and suggest negative impact

And Philipl seems to think he knows how they are going to react. I wonder how the people leading the campaign to raise awareness in India thought Venky's would react.

From Twitter - unfortunately, these noises are emanting from too many sources for there not to be something in it:

Rovers_4_LifeVenkys & Kean Out

Barclays want £10m, Brum want Dann payment, and players want due wages, all by next week. No indication of money coming from Venkys.

Rovers_4_LifeVenkys & Kean Out

#Rovers fans need to realise that it wouldn't matter if we were top of the league, the club is in financial meltdown thanks to the Venkys.

According to twitter - Kean has been sacked numerous times, we have purchased every player under the sun - and so far have had so many points deducted we could play for the next ten years and never recover them.

Though I am rarely convinced by Kean these days - if we were in such financial dire straights - I am sure Samba would have gone by now. In any case Kean would be an absolute fool to boldly keep saying he wasn't selling Samba, if all these financial problems were going on in the background - hmmm ... now thats got me thinking :wstu:

TBH, given their culture and mentality, I do not think that Venky's expected this to rebound all the way back to India.

Now that it has, I would expect them to try and expedite their withdrawal from Rovers as quickly as possible with the minimal of financial loss - this will not be in Rovers' best interests either.

It would if a buyer for the club could be found. But as things stand, there is nobody. Need to grovel to Qatar or even the Walker Trust to come back. Sadly will not happen. But we need new owners and fast.

3. I posted at the time that finishing regularly 6th-9th on our budget was incredible and that attempting any improvement would have been foolhardy cos whilst UEFA entry is good fun it makes no money and it would have cost serious money to crack into the top 4 as we would have been competing with billionaire funded mega clubs. Look what Abromovich has blown, look at the debt that MU and Liverpool have amassed and which hopefully one day might cripple them, look what it's cost the Ayrabs at City to crack the top 4 and finally look at LUFC. Like Icarus they blew the lot by trying to fly too high. Top 4 is simply beyond us Topman. It's way beyond the Walker wealth and it's unreasonable of you and Simon and the entire content of the Blackburn End to expect it.

Love or hate them, united have no football related debt and, if it wasn't for the interest payments on leveraged funds used to buy them, they turn in a profit or around 60-80 million a year. Very disingenuous to lump them with the Chelsea and Man City's and even Liverpool.

Formica being shunted on...Birmingham want 2 million on the Dann installment payment by end of the week just as we thought it couldnt get worse ..IT DOES :angry: VENKYS OUT

Been informed that the Dann deal was 2.5m transfer fee plus wages. The 6-7m headline figure was total outlay. If thats true it seems Brum haven't had owt yet.

Yes. I think the only 'vision' they had for the club's future will have been sold to them by Kentaro- and proved to be unachievable/ a lie. Now I don't believe they have a plan other than just to creep through without coming under too much pressure and somehow avoiding relegation long enough to use their ownership of a Premier League club as a springboard for success in other business areas.

I don't believe they have any interest whatsoever in the football club's success other than to avoid relegation if possible. Therefore I can't agree with those looking for Venkys to rebuild bridges- it is not going to happen.

My guess is that they are in a state of shock as reallity has hit home. Dastardly has done em up like kippers.

His side kick is making it worse for them by refusing to sell Samba, how ironic that the unsackable family member is going to bring them and the Rovers down

It's 'b' longsider.

What other business are they in?

Muttley's not a 'family' member he's a 'country' member.

Yes it is and yes it could but I still think it is proper to point out how it was amassed - not by mega rich owners playing fantasy football nor from spending money they don't have (Leeds, Portsmouth and now yourselves). They are also fortunate in the sense that the amount is so large the appetite to allow them to fold would have to be very very high because few people want to kiss goodbye to circa 1 billion pounds

Not sure if you are being deliberately obtuse but for clarification, it is not debt accrued from buying players, paying players, managers and staff, or any form of their normal trading in the football business. Clearly they annoy you in their success but you really shouldn't allow the to cloud your thinking.

Obtuse of course. :tu: So what is repaying the debt or even the interest on the debt?

There's a hole in the bucket dear Liza. ;)

The annual trading profit is servicing the debts - and for the record what happened to United is just as criminal as what has happened to you - the real difference is the people who bought it understood sports management and knew well enough to let those with experience get on with the job.

Agreed though it could all come crashing down at anytime

Andy Cryer summed up what we are facing when he tweeted Rovers might be good enough to stay up as we are but he doesn't think we will emerge from this window stronger.

That is a very polite way of putting what is going on at the moment. The seven days to the end of the window are seven days too many for Rovers' hopes.

I heard we put down 20% initially but that's the first time I've heard what you suggest. Makes sense though as Birmingham were desperate to clear out their wage bill.

What was today's big news supposed to be Philip? The one that demonstrates how bad our financial situation is?

One day survived without the latest Venky's idiocy coming to fruition- another seven days to hope it doesn't.

The cash situation is indeed grim and Rovers have been left without any support or effective direction. The Rao kids have lost interest in the toy.

Last January feels like so long ago...

"Money is not the criteria at all though, we do not mind about the money.

“It is about getting the right players for Blackburn Rovers and we have enough money to do that.

So the timescale is linked to sales during the transfer window, with no incomings?

I guess there is a big difference in perception between fans and owners about what constitutes "the right players for Blackburn Rovers".

One is based on a proud tradition of rough diamonds and the odd coup. The other is based on preparing for life in the lower leagues.

However, if Philip is right, then whatever they said last January no longer counts.

Stuart,

With what Venkys say never counts, its one lie after another!!

I'll be amazed if we don't sell Samba and Hoilet, despite the noises being made.

And the negative publicity they are getting in India - likely to get them to withdraw support even more, or pursuade them to invest ?

What's this? Scaremongering during a transfer window? Surely not?

To say the Rao's lack communication, it's very easy for some on here to spin elaborate tales of woe with their knowledge of the inside track

If you know something, come out and say it without all of the Derek Acorah bullshit.
