Andy Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Proper Rovers legend. I hope he stays in the game after retirement and maybe even make a return to Ewood in some capacity.
Seggie Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Did you not post this article the other week or am I losing it instead? Either way probably one of 3 players we can call world class to play for Rovers in the last 20 years. Could have gone to a Top club in Europe whilst playing for us and probably could have gone to one when he went to Villa, its perhaps amazing that he has never played in the Champions League. http://www.brfcs.co.uk/mb/index.php/topic/26307-an-article-about-brad-friedel/ Indeed Im not going crazy Colin
Amo Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Rovers finest ever goalkeeper .. *Premier League's
Drover Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 *Premier League's Agreed. Always in top condition, incredible shot stopper, hardly ever made a mistake World class
colin Posted January 25, 2012 Author Posted January 25, 2012 Did you not post this article the other week or am I losing it instead? It's a "senior moment" by me. Like getting to the top of the stairs and then forgetting why you went up there. I'm losing it, not you.

m1st Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Agreed. Always in top condition, incredible shot stopper, hardly ever makes a mistake World class Would you accept that as an amendment, Drover? He's still playing well for Spurs and, even though he turns 41 the week after this season ends, probably has at least one more full season after this in him.

whatdial Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Agreed. Always in top condition, incredible shot stopper, hardly ever made a mistake World class Better than schmeichel? Don't think so, top keeper though
cn174 Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Looks like Friedel's run is coming to an end... BBC Sport @BBCSport Big news from Tottenham as Brad Friedel misses out on a 321st successive league appearance. Hugo Lloris is preferred in goal against Villa.
DeadlyDirk Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Had to end sometime I guess but it's a shame to see it like this when he had done little wrong. Fantastic pro and even if not consecutive he has plenty of games still in him even at his age. Scheichel is the only keeper who comes close to his equal for me over the last 20 or so years in British football.
Backroom DE. Posted October 7, 2012 Backroom Posted October 7, 2012 One of the best goalkeepers of my lifetime, and by all accounts a great bloke too. Exactly the type of person the game needs more of. More Friedels and less Bartons and Rooneys and perhaps the reputation of the game wouldn't be in the gutter.

Tyrone Shoelaces Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Best goalkeeper to play for Rovers in my time without a doubt, and we've had some good un's in that time. Better than Schmiecl,? Not really but he would run him very, very close.
OscarRaven Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Good shout for manager in my opinion. We need a steady hand right now though and thats not a job for a novice.
Stuart Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 I'm not sure goalkeepers make good managers. The are an odd breed and tend to be loners and not teamy types.
Mr. E Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Still better than Robbo with one hand tied behind his back, I'm sorry to say. We need tom find a great goalkeeper again.
Blue Cabbage Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Absolute legend, worth at least 12-15 points a season, had utmost confidence in him when a striker went clean through, can't say the current no.1 does. Seems to read the game well whenever I've seen/heard him as a pundit also but just can't see him as a manager
Lancs Rover Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 without exception, our best since Roger Jones. Sorry romantics. Fantastic keeper but probably not the pre-media-obsessed best.
bluebruce Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Better than schmeichel? I'm just gonna say it. IMO, yes.
thenodrog Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 without exception, our best since Roger Jones. Quite simply the best that I have seen in 50 years. If Roger Jones had been as good as the misty eyed romantics claim he wouldn't have played for us for so long. I've a feeling Levy had a hand in this matter. Brad has been in top form on the spurs matches that I have seen this season so no doubt keeping a 12m keeper on the bench because a 43 year old is better reflects poorly on the Spurs heirarchy.
