Uxbridge rover Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 It was always fun to watch him shoot and be pleasantly surprised when he hit the target. Fans that sit on either sides of the goals now have one less worry. The man always tried for us and always put a shift in however and popped up with some important goals. Good luck Mr. Roberts. That is one of the funniest posts I've read on here for a long time

Wiggy Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Last January our new stand in chairman Jerome Anderson awarded Jase with a twelve month contract extension. This season Jase has scored a solitary goal. Makes Venky's decision to isolate John Williams and ask Jerome to 'help' look even more stupid. Mind you the place was 'rocking' after all the new contracts were handed out. I bet it was!

Majiball Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Good luck Jase, top bloke Really even given his 606 antics? Jase good luck and I hope it starts with the Ewood door smacking your ass on the way out. You'd have gotten a far fonder farewell had you not befallen the 'Hollywood' spell.
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 He was an employee of the club talking on national radio. He was hardly going to have a pop at Kean or Venkys was he? I dont blame him for that particularly. Awful player and should have gone 2/3 seasons ago. Glad to see him gone. Seems a nice enough bloke and I hope he does well at Reading. Highlights: That goal against Chelsea in the cup semi and Bolton away 07/08 when he ran through 3 tackles and squeezed a shot into the near corner in the last minute.
krypton1980 Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Bolton away 07/08 when he ran through 3 tackles and squeezed a shot into the near corner in the last minute. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1037165/bolton_wanderers_v_blackburn_rovers/ 4:55 mins - he still hit it straight at the keeper
Hasta Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Good luck to Roberts at Reading. The goal mentioned earlier at Fulham and the belter in the last minute at Bolton are my two favourite goals that spring to mind.
King Kenny's Magic Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Seems a good bloke despite his cringeworthy ass kissing shenanigans. Awful footballer but a good trier. I wish him all the best.
DeadlyDirk Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Good luck to Roberts? Good luck to Reading!
hesfromburn Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Get in!! I knew sending that highlight video off youtube to every club in the championship would work!! Now Balaji you s.o.b where is my cut?
Guest Rovers4Good Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Good luck to him, i've met him many times and he's such a nice guy, yeh not the best on the ball but very strong and defo prefer him to the penguin Goodwillie.
jones_rover Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 J-Rob has been a model professional and he hasn't caused trouble despite his contractual issues. Best of luck to him at Reading!
roversfan1 Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Good luck to Jason and I hope he enjoys his spell at Reading. Not the greatest goalscorer Rovers will have have but he worked as hard as anyone when out on the pitch.
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Good luck Jason - didn't deserve the stick he got from some fans. May not have been the best finisher - but very often he created chances for himself that nobody else had the pace or power for. If we are realistic - if he could finish, we wouldn't have been able to afford him in the first place - on his day he was virtually unplayable, just a shame he couldn't put the finishing touches to some often good approach play.
John Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Last January our new stand in chairman Jerome Anderson awarded Jase with a twelve month contract extension. This season Jase has scored a solitary goal. Makes Venky's decision to isolate John Williams and ask Jerome to 'help' look even more stupid. Mind you the place was 'rocking' after all the new contracts were handed out. I bet it was! Yeah the place must have been seriously rocking as they had to offer the established players more money because they just saw an established manager sacked in place of a novice first team coach. On Roberts, bit sad to see him go, obviously not the best of finishers however wish him the best of luck.
bazza Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Not a particularly good striker, but seemed like a good man and always seemed to be trying his hardest. Best of luck to Jason, and hopefully we can put the money we were wasting on his salary to more productive use. Into Barclays Bank vault, no doubt. Agree with the rest of your post, however.
yorkblue Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Well hes signed for them now: Is that you behind the glasses Steve?

I have never quite calmed down from it :-D See I always get the hairs sticking up on the back of my neck from this clip!
Sparky Marky Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Our Jase seems to be playing well today.
Stuart Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Scored already. Had to follow up the rebound (reaction) after his penalty was stopped (time to think about it). Jason Roberts in a nutshell...!
Backroom DE. Posted January 28, 2012 Backroom Posted January 28, 2012 Yep, that penalty just about summed Roberts up.
bluebruce Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 How stupid (or poor) do you have to be to give Roberts penalty taking duty?
LeChuck Posted January 28, 2012 Author Posted January 28, 2012 Even though he scored (eventually) I feel embarrassed for him. He takes a weak penalty and somehow falls over onto the ball and bundles it home by accident. Roberts all over.
Devon Rover Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Even though he scored (eventually) I feel embarrassed for him. He takes a weak penalty and somehow falls over onto the ball and bundles it home by accident. Roberts all over. Just saw it. Made me laugh out loud- I think in part just because he looked like such a donkey but more out of sheer relief that we won't have to endure watching him in a Rovers shirt again.
