got some X31 headphones and i cant get game noise thru 'em when my xbox is connected to tv using a hdmi cable??? chat works just no game noise

Turtle beach? You need the extra adaptor for that, which doesn't come with them. Online purchase only I believe.

Google xbox 360 hdmi audio adapter - I think that's what you need. If you've got an old non-hdmi xbox lead that you don't use any more, you can make one for free. http://www.instructables.com/id/How-To-Xbox360-HDMI-RCA-audio/
